What I hope the Matrix Awakens represents moving forward...

So the TGA came and went and the much talked about 25Gb download is finally available for us to see.

While the graphics are impressive, the larger point I'd like to focus on is efficiency. So far, Nanite seems to make what we are used to see larger, easier to make and load. While detractors might point to that as a way of quickly dismissing the demo, there's an opportunity here nonetheless.

If building what we're used to, large open worlds, is now cheaper and quicker; then perhaps game dev teams could use the freed time to work on interiors, so our games can happen both out in the open and indoors at a more reasonably even ratio.

Through that, maybe things would be shaken up enough so that some new genres could be born or even old ones reinvented. We could definitely use some more surprises in an industry that grows more and more modularized by the second.

What would you have the devs use the extra time on?
