A protein found in young blood has been shown to reverse aging in old mice.
Stem cell therapy may hold key to the fountain of youth.
Tissue engineering will help us replace damaged tissues and help mitigate age related diseases.
So I'm a big fan of Ray Kurtzweil and his ideas on the Technological Singularity. This past six months have been really eventful in the area of life extension. It seems the word is getting out and we may just achieve a major advance in the next twenty years. My question is this. When would you personally try to help achieve immortality for others? Would it be after you've insured survival for you and your family? At what point do you quit your job to save as many people as you can.
People currently needlessly die of starvation. Do we accept these deaths because we know in our minds that death is ultimately inevitable?
Would immortality makes us more or less empathetic? Would you feel guilt for this gift of immortality?
