How? Everything is ridiculously easy these days and I'm sure there are a number of really simple to follow tutorials on YouTube that a person could watch first.

I think it was a case of viewers "wanting to believe". They got their entertainment, and the streamer probably got a boatload of subs/free stuff.

That would imply that this person did any amount of preparation for the build, beyond reading random recommendations in twitch chat.

what the hell is that?

Greatness, Soulflarz. The superior gamepad, this time for Final Fantasy fans.

I know earlier I said I was going to go with Digital Storm and just have them build my PC, but after doing a price comparison

Digital Storm = $8511
Building it myself = $5133

The build it myself price includes sleeving and full hardline watercooling on both GPUs and the CPU. IThe only thing I couldn't throw in was Digital Storm's badass case.

Yeah... a $3400 premium sounds a little ridiculous now.

I built mine for something like $1500 3 or 4 years back. Since then, I've only upgraded the GPU, and picked up a better monitor on sale. What sort of future proof beast specs have you thrown into that estimate?

Is your case made of gold?

I guess we are just waiting for the month to end or will the December thread go up before this month ends?

We've started earlier before. No idea why we haven't already. Whenever jshackles wills it so. Maybe he's busy.

I really gotta unload this damn trivia before the thread switches over to December.

I was thinking about just posting a non-game clue that has the same answer as the current one. That way someone who spent time on the original won't feel totally screwed.

If anyone is against this please let me know, otherwise I will just post the new question/clue in the morning and never speak of this again.

you can repost it in the december thread and it'll keep working. don't let these losers get your game without working for it!!!

A friend of mine who was in a much much wealthier position than I built a 5K rig awhile back - i7, multiple (low quality) monitors, dual or triple Titans. He didn't need the performance, he mostly did it because he could.

Because.

He.

Could.

f yeah \o/

you guys think i went with a 980 over a 970 because I needed it?

I'm doing a full water loop with blocks on 2 cards and the CPU with acrylic or copper lines. The build I'm doing isn't as easy as people on here are trying to make it out to be. That's why I looked into how much a company like Digital Storm would charge.

I can't say what I'm going to go with since Pascal and Broadwell-E haven't hit. I'll go with 2 of the top end Pascal as well as the 8-core Broadwell-E. Then the full loop isn't cheap and I'm looking at the In-win 909 case for a nice clean modern contemporary look with sleeved cables. Luckily I don't need any peripherals.

CPU: Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($459.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI X99A GODLIKE GAMING EATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($534.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (8 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory ($489.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Intel 750 Series 400GB PCI-E Solid State Drive ($299.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Black 6TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($279.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($639.99 @ SuperBiiz) x 2
Power Supply: Corsair 1000W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($158.79 @ Newegg)
Case Fan: Corsair Air Series White 2 pack 52.2 CFM 120mm Fan ($19.89 @ OutletPC) x 4
Other: Inwin 909 ($449.99)

These are some of the components. But this is all going to change by next April when these new architectures hit.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Speaking of the December thread, I should have it up tomorrow night (about 22 hours from now).

How do you even install software in RAM?

Edit: Nevermind. I looked it up on Google. Seems RAM Disks aren't that great though, since you lose the data everytime you reboot.

RAM Disk. But I'm not using the RAM to play games off of it.

Seriously. I should have never posted that. I just thought that mark up was ludicrous. Now people think I'm ludicrous for wanting a bad ass full closed loop, VR, rendering beast.

Yeah I looked them up. Seems not so great, since you lose the data every time you reboot. Sure some software lets you save it to the hard drive before it reboots, but that just adds to boot time.

How are people enjoying the games they bought as we come to the end of the sale? Really enjoying Lisa and some of the weird story situations it throws you into that go outside the general rpg norms. Ie, being forced to play Russian Roulette with your companions amongst other things. Axiom Verge is pretty fun and it supports high framerates which is great, beautiful spritework for a one person job although some of the bosses seem a bit flash esqe in comparison to the rest of the game. Haven't spent much time with Trails SC but I just wanted to grab it to support xseed.

Totally unrelated but has anyone used Roommates.com before to find a place to live? Moving to austin next month and I'm trying to find the best deals possible on a place so I want to consider the possibility but the site seems sketch as fuck despite being recommended.

Anyone has a clue what to do when a game crashes, but if you click ctrl, alt, del it just someshow shows a black screen with your mouse cursor?

I dont want to reboot my PC every time that happens.

You can try the Windows key + L key to lock your PC then log back in to see if that fixes the problem. You can also log off and log back on from the Lock screen.
