God dammit, FX Now, why are you such garbage? Assuming Feraldo was infected as Fet just watch that worm drill into her scalp?

What a boring and awful episode. that it even took them an entire hour of the show to figure out the master wasn't gone is idiotic. The entire plot about the conscription army is dumb as rock and I love (detest) that Feraldo's epiphany was "this is the press's fault".

Okay, and the entire bombing thing: how did two strigoi get into the fucking command center for anti-strigoi efforts? You're telling me there were no UV lights or anything between them and the goddamn nucleus of the war efforts? Not a single spot where they had to converse with a security guard? Two people who had supposedly been missing for some time and were well-known in the operation walked through a number of security measures right into th emiddle of the room. Bullshit.

WTF happened to this show? This season feels so different from the others. Did they change the entire production staff or something?

Do you mean it's better or worse? Cuz it's never been very good by my estimation.

I think this show might have managed to get worse. Episode was boring as hell

Agreed. Then again it was better than par compared to it's fellow horror stinker Fear the Walking Dead. Why the hell is good horror seemingly so hard on TV? I mean the most well regarded popular one is the regular Walking Dead and it's mediocre. Evil Dead is better, but lacking and doesn't really count as horror. So strange in an era where most genres on TV have handfuls of solid to amazing choices.

Worse than how they got through the blockade was how they suddenly learned to walk and act normal when in literally the previous scene they were doing the whole weird stragoi thing. It's not like they had the master give them back their whatever like Zack's mom.

Speaking of Zack, he has a serious case of resting doucheface. If anybody cared about or watched this show I could see resting Zackface becoming the commonly used male version of bitchface.

I sorta cringed my way thru the first season, never saw the second season. But now shit's all apocalyptic it's hard to pass up. Maybe when I catch the flu this winter I'll dive back in or something.

One thing that still blows me away is how nonchalant everybody is in the city as it's being ravaged. Like seriously? When half of your friends and family are dead you just go about your day flagging taxis and what not? Lordy.

Show is dull as all hell, especially for a show set in the fucking vampire leech apocalypse.

And them not knowing the Master was still alive was unbelievable. Setrakian saw an unusually large worm rapidly slither away after they cut the Master's head off, so why did he not discuss that with Eph and Fet as soon as it happened?

now I remember the reporter. She was one of the Saviors on Walking Dead last season

Oh yeah, that's where I've seen her!

Do we know how many seasons this is planned for? Because I don't know if I can continue at this rate.

3-5 seasons is what they've always planned for - 3 if it wasn't too popular, 5 if it was. The show is doing decently-ish, so if they're not already planning to end it this season, it'll probably get at least one more.

Why did they only check Feraldo's head and hand?
I can understand if she didn't want to strip for the scene but could at least exam her properly behind a sheet or something.

I'm continuously shocked by how "small scale" everything looks and feels. I know that shit is also going down elsewhere, but you'd think the army would come stomping if something like that happened in NYC from all places. But nah, some SEALs will do it.

Also, those checkpoints look like something you'd find in some decrepit Latrinestan instead of a legitimate war zone against a supernatural enemy. What the fuck.

I was screaming at the TV and Setrakian for not throwing a silver grenade down the hole. The idiocy is staggering.

At this point I'm only watching this show for the moment Zack gets torn to pieces by his mom. I hope.

They've proven they can retain their entire personalities as long as the master wishes it. So knowing how to pick a lock deems feasible within the rules they've established.

Yeah, I suppose that is true. But I thought that was supposed to be a select few, like Eichorst. Now we have Strigoi MTA workers and cops and locksmiths.

Was talking to someone at work today about shows where everything is great on paper, but somehow no one cares enough to deliver a consistently good script.

This is one of those shows. It must be a tiny slice of hell to be stuck acting on it.

The Strain is losing me. There is a whole lot of nothing going on. Eph and Dutch get an idea that goes nowhere. Fett takes forever to find the lair(well, the episode makes him take forever). We get a pointless flashback that has little to do with anything but flesh out the backstory of Setrakian, just one of his many adventures prior to the events of this series(which I can assume might make an interesting story, but the time spent on those flashbacks could've been used more productively elsewhere). I was right when I posted on an IMDb thread, moreso this season than the ones before, this is going the way of The Walking Dead. Whole lotta nothing, stretching the plot as thin as they can with no real vision of where they want to take the story. They are watering it down to shit!

Whatever happened to using the fluorescent light bombs that they had way back in season 1 or whenever? A couple of those would clear the entire nest in seconds and nobody would get hurt.

Good news, the sweet sweet release of death is near
‘The Strain’ to End After Season 4 on FX
Currently in the midst of its third season, “The Strain” will return with Season 4 in summer 2017, marking the final set of episodes for the thriller from Guillermo del Toro, Chuck Hogan and Carlton Cuse.

Ending the series after four seasons was a creative decision made by the producers, according to a statement released on Tuesday by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, presidents of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions, and another statement from Cuse, who said the original intent was for “The Strain” to last only three seasons.

“We sincerely thank Carlton Cuse, Guillermo del Toro, Chuck Hogan and their creative team as well as the fantastic cast for three exciting seasons of ‘The Strain.’ Though we’re sad to see it go, we fully support the way in which they are crafting the fourth season’s dramatic conclusion,” said Grad.

Cuse commented: “It is a true joy to work at FX where creative intentions always comes first. Our original plan was for the series to last three years. Once we began telling that story it expanded to be more. After finishing the writing on season three, Guillermo, Chuck and I looked at our remaining story and felt the best version could be told in one more season. We have a fantastic plan for an exciting and climatic season four. We are deeply grateful to FX for supporting our vision and for allowing us to end the show on our own timetable.”

Still better than Fear the Walking Dead

Well, there's a big difference: The Strain is a good hatewatch on account of every single character being laughable and corny, whereas FTWD gets on your nerves with Madison's malodorous idiocy fucking up everything for everyone.

It's funny how the threat of worms is completely lost to the main crew. The stigoi they had locked in the test cage, when it was shot no worms anywhere... Lol
