If you stack the OG crew up vs this crew, the OG crew wins but that's with the benefit of hindsight and Casey Affleck being a tour de force motherfucker

Alright taking bets on her character architype....My guess would be, the eccentric of the group who's a bit of a wild card, yet they need her talent.
I don't think I'd put Don Cheadle's star power ahead of Sandra Bullock or Anne Hathaway. I really like him and think he's a good actor, but he's not headlining movies the way those actresses are. I can't think of many movies that people consider "Don Cheadle movies".
Dude how old are you? he was huge at the time, at least here in Britain, maybe not at his Bourne heights yet but he was well respected and well known by the public.

Exactly. Which brings me back to my point that this movie is completely uninspired right from the get go but whatever.
He was well known and well respected here, but so are those leading ladies being compared. No one is calling him an unknown, but we're pointing at women who have both starred in a number of movies and saying he was a bigger star back then, which people are disagreeing with.

A bit different, the original, original wasn't that great to begin with in my opinion, and I thought Clonnes version was going to stink but then it blew me away.

Well then, you bringing him up defeats your own concern. His two films I've seen, the Hunger games, and free state of jones were both completely uninspired movies that were well executed (to a lesser degree the free state of jones but it was still put together decently)

I haven't seen Free State of Jones, but I would not consider The Hunger Games well-executed. Far from it.

Okay, well it has been a long time since I've seen it but from what I remember it was a fairly blandly shot (which can be blamed on the cinematographer) and edited (which can be blamed on bad editors or studio interference) action movie with a compelling world, characters and strong emotional power.
Making a film like that isn't easy and you certainly can't do it by accident.
And that's not even the worst thing about the movie.
It's actually the best thing

The worst thing about the movie is the off-screen heist at the end that renders the previous 90 minutes of the movie pointless. The Julia Roberts playing Tess Ocean playing Julia Roberts bit wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for nothing.
12 was egregiously convoluted.

Oh yeah, it has to have a reason to be called Ocean's, Clooney could have a cameo or end up being a major part of plot, like one of the characters is trained by him and is going to steal some money to get him out of a bad position or something.

Oceans Movies have been the ultimate father and son movies for years. If I see this and it fails then just fuck u hollywood. I'm all for an all girls cast, but why attach a name so meaningful to people ALA Ghostbusters just shit on your fans. Just make your own original movies ffs.
