PS, I Love You- Greg Miller's new PlayStation Podcast

Doubly so when this applies:

But actually he currently does (Joey, Kinda Funny's community manager since January) and has worked with women lol.. People love flinging shit over Colin.

I'm astonished at Greg's and Tim's silence whenever Colin shows his ass.

What do you expect them to say? They have to work with him on a near daily basis so it's probably not a good idea to get involved. Plus they will fall in the "it's just a harmless joke" camp.

They know who their audience are. I can't say I would be any different to be honest, they have a really cool job, and considering their audience they would probably lose money if they expressed genuine empathy for other people (not just token "oh yeah x_minority is fine").

It's an unfunny joke not meant to be funny but meant to troll people he assumes will be upset by it.

Not a good look, should have just kept his mouth shut.

Not in the least surprising. The dude straight up revels in his white male privilege and lacks any real empathy for anyone else that's not like him.

But of course, he's a guy from IGN with a fan base, so he'll get a pass from folks and they'll just take this is a poor joke. Seriously, the dude is not right at all.

Something's going to have to happen to their business for them to speak out. And given where Colin is stepping now and given where Sony is in terms of their treatment of women, that "thing" may be happening sooner rather than later.

I like Colin, and have defended him in the past...but I find this joke to be completely unnecessary and unprofessional. What really upsets me is what has happened to the KF community because of his comments. These people that agree with what he says (even though he may not be serious) come out of the woodwork and attack anybody that disagrees with him. It gives the community a really bad reputation.

Just listening to this weeks episode now, did Greg really just say that the XB1-S 'was doing the same thing as the Pro'. Is that still how they see those consoles?

Did I mis-hear him or am I taking it out of context? I must have.

The guy you're accusing of "flinging shit" worked with Colin for years at IGN. I think he knows him a little better than you do.
Apparently not if he said today that he doesn't work with women, which is objectively false.. And Altano says MANY, MANY outrageous things, yet here he is standing on a pedestal lol.

I love/hate them both, but let's be real here.

Obviously Scorpio will be stronger, but it may be doing the same thing in terms of taking existing games and making them look better.

Exactly. The things I've heard Altano say on the comedy button blow this joke out of the water as far as being offensive.

He was referring to the slim, not the scorpio.

If you listen to the comedy button they say all kinds of shit that would not stand if it was pasted in tweets without context.

To be fair, those people exist on both sides. Let's not pretend that twitter attacks only come from one side.

It's great to see so many people in the games industry just calling him an asshole outright.
It's great, but what took them so long? They've been palling around with him for a long time, and he's spewing some foul stuff in the past. More so with his Colin Is Right series.

I know what to expect from Greg tbh, didn't you see what he did on Colin's previous tweet, instead of blaming his alt right co-worker he went and put the blame on others claiming respect for Colin's ideas. He will do the dame this time, he will blame others for not getting the joke, "it was only a joke you guys dont get good humour " or something like that

He enjoys playing the victim. This tweet is laser-focused in causing outrage to then act hurt and persecuted.

Absurd coming from a libertarian where the whole philosophy is about responsibility of the self, but here we are.

Thanks for posting the tweet of Tim. I'm glad he at least responded to a tweet.

And the response I would expect from Greg or Tim would be along those lines of, I don't want/support these vocal fans responding to my colleague AND I do not support the flat "joke" of my colleague.

I don't see how his actions are good for business. I started watching KF because of Colin and Greg and I voiced my concern for Colin when it seemed he was going through a large depression spell. But then he just kept on being an ass and shouting about outrage culture. He plays the victim after he stirs up shit on social media. I don't understand why he would keep on acting this way but maybe each time there is a bump in that sweet, sweet Patreon money.

Arthur Gies and Nick Cappozolli both tweeted stuff along those lines. People in the industry have been tip-toing around him for far too long

I hope Tim and Greg and the rest simply talk to him in private about his comments lately. Dude needs to chill out.

True, but that's what the Comedy Button fans like. Plus they're publicly liberal. So it's not like they're going to get criticized from their own side.

This 100%. It's the shitty preemptive outrage to the outrage assholes like him do so they can turn around and blame everything on the "SJW" and PC culture, not realizing that they whine more about that than anybody does about being outraged.

He's nothing like Colin, if that's what you're implying.

This is exactly my thought. There's really no upside to tweeting that "joke", and doubling down and calling people humorless sacks of shit just serves to further offend those who might otherwise have just scrolled past and forgotten about it.

Exactly. The things I've heard Altano say on the comedy button blow this joke out of the water as far as being offensive.

Which is why nobody criticizes him or Louis CK for saying the things they say during their performances. It's really really not hard to make the distinction. Twitter is not a packed theater or a comedy podcast, and people should not have to suffer jackasses spreading very directed hate at only certain groups of people in the guise of performance art.

I feel like you are intentionally playing dumb and actively trying not to understand

No I don't understand I wish I could. Of all the terrible Statements I've seen referring to women on the internet this would not rate at all. It looks to me like manufactured outrage to me.

My point exactly. Please show me where any hatred is being shown in the joke?

Shitty edgy joke, designed to offend so people can freak out about how people are so offended. Feel free to use the tweet to update your beliefs about what kind of guy he is. You can donate to V-Day or Planned Parenthood to help organizations making a positive difference in women's lives across the country.

Quoting the ModBot post from the other thread about this in case anyone else wants to take this opportunity to donate to a good cause.

Yes manufactured by Colin to feed his rabid fanbase of angry, stupid and sexually frustrated youths.

I'm disappointed Colin would would say what he did, even if it was a joke I feel it is in bad taste and disrespectful. Everyone has women in their lives and I'm sure they want them to be treated fairly and with respect. On topic I'm done with Kinda funny.

The joke was in poor taste. Many of us have been there where we said something that didn't go over well. The best thing to do, if you're sincere, is to apologize. Problem is I don't think Colin has it in him to do that.

No, I get that. What I'm saying is let's not cast shade over every little thing when the shit we joke about sometimes is worse.

Altano seems like a pleasure to be around, a great friend, so I wasn't implying anything about him as a person.
