Got my platinum trophy after 19h43m. Awesome job by everyone at Zeboyd Games it was a very fun experience. Amazing combat system, really good soundtrack.
Like someone said a few post befor I think my only complaint was that there's too many party member.

Are there any reviews for this? The metacritic page is empty :/

Reviews sound like they were distributed by Sony themselves (could be a requirement of Play Collective?) after the first major patch, which could explain why a lot of the smaller sites might not have anything yet.

I inquired and haven't heard anything back from Zeboyd.

So have anyone in the European region heard anything about our backers keys? The KS page haven't answered anything publicly in a week and the game have managed to be launched here.

Yes we all know psn EU suck at this but say something.

This.

Really sorry you guys are having problems, but as an EU backer I had to find this thread via google to work out what's happening.

Maybe a quick message regarding the EU code situation via kickstarter would be good, as it kind of feels like we've been forgotten.

Thanks for all the positive words everybody!

We're currently working out the EU PSN code logistics with Sony and hope to have them for Kickstarter backers soon.

I've fixed the Z'xorv Relentless bug and it'll be in the next patch.

"I never seem to finish the RPGs I buy. Maybe on my next vacation."

That's too real, you guys. lol

Is there anywhere where it explains what rust does and what actions are affected by cunning? It was probably explained once in-game, but I missed it.

I just started playing this tonight, and I'm pleasantly surprised. I don't mean any insult toward Robert and the rest of the Zeboyd team, but none of their games have ever really resonated with me. Due to that, I didn't have very high hopes for this one, but I must say, it's really quite a lot better than I was expecting. The systems and abilities have a nice synergy going on, which has kept battles engaging. The music is really good, and the general presentation is great. I do wish the game shipped with a CRT shader, though, because it looks quite nice with one (1, 2).

The only gripe I have so far is that it already committed an RPG sin when a character left and took the new shield I just gave him with him.

A native CRT shader or scanline feature would be fantastic (I'm really digging it on Wonder Boy right now).

I don't mind waiting for the Switch version at all if it launches as the most polished and complete version day one; I rarely replay RPGs anyway so I want my one playthrough to be the best it can be.

Do you mind sharing the program/settings you're using for scanlines? Looks great!

Finished today. Overall really good game. Started out a bit rough but it bloomed very nicely.

Amazing:
Music
Nightshade cut scene sequence

Good:
Great presentation and aesthetic
Decent story -- good play and movement on it
Good combat/mechanics and character uniqueness
All the cut scenes were nice
I like the quality of life RPG bits (post combat healing, refreshing of items, etc)
Love the nostalgic references. Hell even the title looked like the Algo system :)

Could have been better:
I would have like items and abilities to have been more fleshed out. I found myself frequently doing the same ones in the same sequence over and over once I found the sweet spot.
I would have liked to see more relevant NPC conversations and more NPCs have updated conversations based on events.
I would have liked to have better text conversations overall -- it seemed very rushed and a bunch of one/two liners for moving the plot forward.

Bad:
Too many party characters. Needed fewer.
Managing party buffs sucked because you couldn't really see what was active? Debuffs were there, but not buffs.

Ugly:
Lots of bugs. I'm not really sure how some of these got missed, but it really did mar an otherwise great game.

I'm looking forward to the sequel (or next game like this) with more polish. Lets go full on Phantasy Star next time. ;)

Rust: -50% defense. Reduce turn frequency. Last the whole fight. Robotic Creature only.
Cunning: Ailment damage/resistance, item effectiveness and speed

If there was one thing that would be a huge QOL improvement, it would be a check/info option, like mapped to the select button. Something to check what stats and status effects do, or to check unit status in battle to see what effects are active.

It sounds like something that would require a decent chunk of work, and obviously there are many other priorities for the team, but I know it would make my life easier. Until then, I'll just have to find a list or FAQ with everything on it.

went back to my kickstarter page and checked my profile again and after going through a few menus it turns out that I haven't yet chosen the version of the game I wanted. Oops. This is admittedly rather embarrassing

So started it this morning. About three hours in. EU version patch 102.

So far I'm loving it. The character designs are all fantastic, the music is really good and I like the combat system a lot. Having one use reusable items is a great idea and I like how the abilities need recharging.

Game has played flawlessly so far, thought there was a bug but realised it was the equipment I had on giving that effect, d'oh!

I would of liked an optional health meter bar over the ennemies and a little longer time for seeing the damage number...sometimes its even blocked by a skill effect...just pet peeves though. ;)

Finished Persona 5 and finally started playing this. Currently on chapter 6, and I'm pretty happy with it.

There are only a few little bugs I found, on version 1.03:

* Chapter 3 (or 4?)
when you are at the Factory, escaping
, if you kill one of the Heavy armored enemies, but die after that, if you retry the battle starts again and the enemy you killed dissapears. If you try to use any move that targets one enemy, the game crashes. Null reference, missing game object?

* On Chapter 5,
Inside the Leviathan
, there is one soldier that asks if he can sing for you. If you chose yes, he sings one verse, then asks again with part of the text cut out. If you chose yes again, he sings the whole song.

* This is more a nitpick, or maybe a game feeling enhancement, but I think the game should play a sound effect or something like that when you get an item or a new party member. I mean, it works the way it is now, but it would feel a bit better with it.

Anyway, great game, guys! As a kickstarter backer, I'm very happy with the final result.

Oof, forgot to save for a chapter, then got hit with a bug where the fight didn't register as over and just hung there. I'll come back to this later when I can be bothered to replay that chunk. Was really enjoying it until then.

Oh, yeah, after I had the crashes on those enemies I commented before I started saving after each battle and on every new room. Hope they can fix this soon.

Oh, another very minor thing, the game clock is still running when the game is suspended. Not sure how Unity treats this on PS4, so it may be an engine thing.

Is the game supposed to have sound effects outside of those animated event scenes and battles? I've noticed many times where it seems like there should be sound effects and there's just silence. For instance, just now, my party was awakened to an alarm going off apparently, but I hear nothing.

Is Clarke supposed to die when he uses Petty Thief? The skill description in battle doesn't say anything about it.

Can I just assume every attack of his ends with him dying?

EDIT: Not the case, other non-suicidal attacks are working the right way.

I've got this weird bug now where Sue just faces upwards and has no animation. Even in the shrunken world map, he's full size.

Yeah, I noticed that. Also, a submarine emerging with no sound effects.

40 minutes into the game on PS4, and it hard crashes whenever I try and equip an item I find. Happened with sunglasses and potion so far.

Is this a known bug? Game seems great but if I can't equip items that's gonna be tough to deal with

Have you given your PS4 a full restart? Cleared up a couple of things for me.

So I finished it yesterday and I have to say I didn't expect to have so much fun with every single encounter, most JRPG inspired games or just plain JRPGs I've played leave the excitement to boss battles, and you just mindlessly dispatch trash mobs in between, but in this little gem of a game you have to think 2 or 3 moves ahead, plan who to buff, when to refresh abilities in every fight, because if you don't you'll end up retrying a bunch of battles.

This is a very good game with a really engaging, flexible battle system, and some catchy tunes, so I really hope the reviews and word of mouth help it sell more because I want to see a new Zeboyd game in the future.

I've seen this mentioned before - it was never requested by the developers, and probably in them midst of the lead up to release, that was why. Though once I see the section in question, i'll be sure to make a sound for it and push it through to the devs. It's 100% on the list already though, so I am hoping to see that and a good few other things adjusted and improved appropriately.

I had that bug with Chahn earlier. It seemed to be a sprite that got stuck over her normal sprite, it was stuck in battle as well. You could see her animations behind the stuck sprite though.

Didn't realize this was already out. Lost track of it in the deluge of games that came out this year. Caught the Giant Bomb Quick Look earlier and bought it on Steam. Now it's just a matter of figuring out when to actually play it lol.

Debating on starting it after Nier in like a months time or putting Nier on hold to play CSH instead since I've only put an hour into Nier so far. It's pretty telling that Nier, a supposedly 30-50 hour RPG, was going to be the shortest game I've played this year and meant to be the buffer between going straight from over 100 hours in Zelda to what will likely be 100+ hours of Persona 5. A 15-20 hour game is looking real good right about now.

I also am having some sprite issues.

I just reached the part of the game where I can swap party members out. I made my party Sue, Chahn, and Lauren. They were all oversized on the overworld map while Alyssa was small. Once I got into town, the sprites just stayed in the same position as I moved around. I switched them out for other party members and they worked fine. So I tried Sue Chahn and Lauren again, they reappeared but all got stuck and wouldn't move.

Has anyone who experienced these problems had the game crash or something similar? I'm a bit worried about pressing forward if it could cause me to lose progress.

Just hit for 125K! Love this game

I managed to top off at
~260k
around level
50
before the end of the game, would love to see how high people can really push it.

But yeah, those times when you're expecting to hit someone for X and you hit them for like 2-3 times the amount are always great.

It happenned during my play through as well. It fixed itself for me after a certain event.

My Sue model was bugged for a few hours and it fixed itself, didn't impede my progress.

I don't want to spoil, but I've just reach a point where i got a character with Hyper boost skill and the other one with buff 75% of the next attack...

Do that with style 100% + Damage up + Double damage shield program + That 75% buff + Hyper boost +100 % in Boost mode + Element weakness + vulnerability debuff on the enemy + (in option Double Item effect if got a item whit ennemy weakness) = Totally broken.....

I can kill any encounter and boss with that combo, challenge just vanish on spy....Why should i use old party member, the new one a way too OP compare to any previous....

I had a similar issue briefly I just saved quite out the game and restarted and all was fine.

I mean, it's not that broken, you have to set up for like 2 turns to get that all online.

Stuck; how do I
get the lumina device back? Game says I need to go to Shimerex or The Hive past a swamp but I can't find them.

take the
elevator up from the second town on new Rhomu (I forget the name of it... the one where Enzo's party happens) and then proceed to the scimerex village on the map. It should have an "Enter" prompt on the north and south ends of it.

Destructoid review is out. Really liked it but docked it some points for bugs & some minor annoyances. 7.5/10. Shame that the score won't get updated as the game continues to get patched, but I should have worked that stuff out before launch.

Don't be too hard on yourself; at a certain point you have to put some distance between yourself and your project in order to get a fresh perspective on it. That, and it probably got more QA time in a day out in the "real world" than it did while you guys were working on it, which is just a fact of life. It's particularly unfortunate here because you have a great game that was mired by some pretty bad bugs (the worst of which have mostly been resolved), as opposed to a middling game with some eh bugs.

That said, I can't wait to go home and play some more!

If you have the desire/funding to make another game, it'd probably be worthwhile to put it on Steam Early Access for a month or two before launch to give yourself time before the official release to work out some of the bugs.

While I personally chafe at the glut of games in perpetual Early Access on there, using it for a late round of QA for a team like yours with limited resources would seem to be using the service the way it was intended.

Not sure if this bug is already listed anywhere but on PS4 Pro with boost mode enabled, I got a vr battle glitch on the first planet outside of the factory with the 3 frogs and 2 raygun encounter. I'm playing on Super Spy and doing a bit grinding and as soon as I hit retry after losing the battle on like the 3rd try, the 3 frogs disappeared off screen yet still took their turns. It took like half a minute for them to reach my characters to attack and then they would hop back off screen lol sooo weird!
