Warner Bros has approved Robert Pattinson as the star of The Batman, the trilogy of films that Matt Reeves will direct later this year, Deadline hears.

Pattinson has been considered a front runner because the filmmaker liked him, but the studio was torn between him and Nicholas Hoult, and wanted both of the actors on tape because this is such a big decision on a cornerstone Warner Bros DC franchise. Those meetings happened yesterday, I’m told, and the decision was made. Hoult, who starred in Tolkien and is about to reprise in X-Men: First Class, was impressive, but Pattinson will be the guy and negotiations will get underway any moment. The film is produced by Dylan Clark, who produced Reeves’ Planet of the Apes films. Expect an announcement imminently.

I haven't seen any of his movies so I'm not sure about this. He might be great. Nicholas Hoult doesn't seem like a good choice. I can't see him as Batman.

wants to fuck an Asian grill.
Why do we keep letting foreigners play Batman? Our country has no shame.

At least Wolverine was Canadian so Hugh Jacked Man gets a pass.

Awesome. Dude's way above the class of who get cast as superheroes and it seems Reeves wants his own trilogy. If there;s any chance of us ever getting something on the level of Dark Knight this is it.

DC: We should do a fucking Nightwing movie. Hell yeah who will play him. Robert Pattinson or the Beast from X-Men!!!! Fuck yeah bitch. Script looks epic. Yeah it's like Batman but way better. Yeah, word. It probably won't make as much money as a Batman movie because fucking only nerds know Nightwing. Yeah lol.. I have an idea.

Well I've never seen him in anything and I only know him due to Twilight, which I've never seen. So...I don't know what to make of this yet.

I don’t think he or Kristen Stewart are “great” actors, overall, but I do think they are both much better than their Twilight performances and have proven it since then.

I think he’s gonna be fine. I don’t think he’s gonna dazzle like Heath but he doesn’t need to, necessarily.

Look at Pattinson's chin and jaw. You can chop trees with that shit, that shit is strong. Hoult can't compete with that.

TBH, neither look the part, because they are much too effeminate. Pattinson just looks too much like one of these dreamy eyed boy-band members on a teen-girl magazine cover.

Definitely like this pick for the face structure alone. Once he puts on the usual 15 pounds, he'll be golden.

Well, in the picture you posted he was much younger so he had softer qualities. He has hardened up.

He can make you see conflict in his eyes. This is Batman mode. People won't see this.

And I think it helps for him to be on the prettier side for this role. Who will ever think that this pretty boy is beating up criminals?

If they can turn Donnie Darko into South Paw, they can turn Twilight into Batman.

Nicholas Hoult is a pretty big guy for you but I can't see him as Batman because of that babyface. Pattinson has the chad jawline.

I really would like them to stop rebooting batman, just stick with a batman please and develop the EU of the DC universe.

Marvel is so far ahead of DC , that it can hardly be called a race anymore. :messenger_pouting:

I only know him from Twilight which I never even watched, so I am cautiously optimistic about this. I thought Bale was overrated. The only thing that made his Batman great was Heath Ledger’s Joker.

I’m sure he’ll be fine for the role. Hollywood was able to make Ben Afleck, known for being just Ben Afleck, into Batman.

It will never be as good trilogy as The Dark Knight trilogy. That will be a classic forever.

I admit that Bale’s “Batman Voice” was bad. Some lines in particular sounded unintentionally hilarious.

That being said he’s still my favorite, I just love that trilogy.

I find the voice makes it hard to watch a great movie. I wish he would have just talked normal.

I wish the Burton/Keaton Batman films were a trilogy. Stupid Warner Brothers. Maybe in another universe... Also i bet if Batman and Robin was well received we wouldn't have gotten the Nolan bat movies. Clooney probably would have had is own trilogy, ending in like 2004!

Robert Pattinson has the better jawline out of the 2 front runners. This is a better choice than Ben Affleck, and Ben was decent.

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
Get these movies out quick to make some money, this totally makes sense and super hero films could always improve
