hey guys
i just started this after getting a switch through work. started with zelda as ive always been a fan of said series.
but bloody hell is this boring.
does it get better as you go on or??
hell yeahIt's a nintendo game dude it's epic. 10/10. Nothing like horizon zero dawn or all those indie games. This shit is amazing. Nintendo once again makes a 100% unique game deserving of a perfect score.

I'm sure you would've loved it more if Zelda had big anime tiddies, wouldn't ya?I also was bored of this game and REALLY tried to like it. After 30 hours of trying everything I said to myself "why the fuck are you playing this moron?". I proceeded to powering my 360 and playing MvC2 for the next 3 days.
No, I would have liked it more if I could play as different races other than Link and if it had actual shrines. If the weapons didn't break and if the enemies weren't braindead. God, they are never going to make another Majora's Mask.I'm sure you would've loved it more if Zelda had big anime tiddies, wouldn't ya?

I love threads like these — they are a tremendous help in growing my ignore list!

I played HZD and BoTW at the same time. I played Zelda with my wife and Horizon solo. I thought both were solid games, but Horizon overall was the better game.
Which part of the game do you find boring?
Personally I really enjoyed it, it has fantastic atmosphere and genuinely open, innovative gameplay.
What did you like about HZD better than BOTW? I don't ask this to be a douchebag, but just out of curiosity. I thought Horizon had such an underwhelming gameplay and terrible enemy encounter design, I fail to see what this game has other than really good looking graphics.
It’s more of the hyperbolic bullshit that comes out in these threads that I find off-putting.You put anyone who doesn't like a particular game as much as you on your ignore list? Seems mature.
ive never played it myself, but think this is one of those games where part of its greatness can only be appreciated by people who like games where you make your own fun. People like this appreciate games like Sea of Thieves, although I think Zelda has a bit more direction than that game. I'm like you I think. I need a bit more direction and goals in my game. I don't wanna just go anywhere and do anything. Tell me what the goal is and make that journey the best part of the game.Overrated in my opinion. No better than an 8/10 and im being generous. The Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, AC Origins/Odyssey simply does everything that BOTW does but far better and with better visuals, actual stories, full voice acting and just overall better.
I see BOTW as a slow, dull, empty, boring open world with outdated combat, non-existent story, minimal voice acting, etc. For me, it's simply old, outdated and obsolete. I lasted 22 hours and the last hour or two, I was literally just wandering around and there I knew - game was fucking done.
But if you continue playing, good luck and hope you can actually enjoy the game.
The combat in HZD was really good, especially for an open-world game and much better than BoTWs. I also disagree strongly about enemy design. HZD's enemies are amazing.
The story of Horizon was also very cool, something I was not expecting going in.
BoTW beat it in its sense of exploration and world traversal, but HZD beat it in pretty much every other aspect imo - gameplay, story, graphics, performance, etc.
I love the Zelda series and I’ve beaten most of the games, but I just can’t get into this one. I forced myself to play about ~25 hours, but it’s not getting any better. Weapon durability is a huge bother to me, making the right food so you can travel through certain climates and the lame shrines. Why do we need 120 shrines? Between the number of shrines and the number of moons in MARIO Odessey, I feel like Nintendo just padded out the games, which result in a drop in quality.hey guys

I disagree. For me it's the first Zelda since the OG that replicated the sense of scale and wonder I had as a 6 year old exploring Hyrule and searching every corner for secrets.
I'm also an absolute sucker for any story set in the Era of Decline.
