Halo Infinite is a prime example of why it's fun to make memes

You answered yourself.

Being talent independent from race, the studio wanted to hire race. Guess the result.

My point is why can't they do both? You act as if talent and being a minority are mutually exclusive.

Exactly my friend. If 343 boasts about the diversity in their team it seems quite obivous that talent wasn't the main thing they were looking for in their hiring process.
And this racism crap really rustles my jimmies. I wouldn't even give a flying fuck if the Halo Infinite dev team would be all black or all female if it meant it's the most crazy folks working on the game.

As above.

Unpopular opinion but TLoU2 memes were 500 times better. Sadly, can't use them as my avatar because "spoilers". Even though everyone's seen the choking and buttsex.
It's not unpopular, TLOU2 memes were pure genious, the videos were insane.

You can have both, but you can't force both.

If the best person for every role was a straight black woman, then there would be zero diversity, but the game would be the best it could be, so it wouldn't matter.

As soon as you start to focus on any quality other than merit, you are choosing to sacrifice quality for ideology, and the fact they have been openly doing just that, then produced such an awful looking product, is hard to see it as anything other than a damning indictment of why the soft bigotry of low expectations and treating people as statistics, not individuals, has no positive outcomes.

Are you being disingenuous?

A value is an idea, a concept which you deem so important you're willing to sacrifice your own immediate interests for the sake of it. For example, if you truly value honesty, you will return that wallet, even though those 20 bucks sure would come in handy. Generally speaking, values are only meaningful, only express themselves when they sort out conflicting decisions.

When you elect Diversity as a prime value in your hiring practices, you are choosing to sacrifice your own interests - hire the best possible people - because you deem diversity so noble and high-minded.

If you set minority quotas, that means you will still recruit minority candidates even if the best one available doesn't belong to any of the favoured demographics. You are rewarding skin colour or genitalia or sexual orientation and depreciating skill and commitment.

If the best candidates are all female, by all means have an all-female team. If the best candidate happens to be queer, don't hesitate. Hire them. But if your staff's mostly comprised of WASPs and the top applicant's also white, protestant and male, welcome him to the team on the spot.

it's wonderful that, in the long run at least, capitalism tends to caramelize companies which behave irrationally, against their best interests and, ultimately, against the best interests of the consumer.

People with talent and a spine have little enthusiasm for Diversity hirings.
They're rightly confident their talent will pull them though and they wouldn't want it any other way.
