I like your posts and unlike most TLOU2 fans you can actually have a conversation about the game, but I think there's a disconnect, the second post wasn't calling you out specifically just referring to TLOU2 fans in general on here, twitter, and that other site. (can't say he's wrong). Your post was directly attacking someone by insinuating someone's uncle is their father and asking if their mother dropped them as a kid, that's probably why you got reported.

Peak maturity

Man it must be fun managing these meltdowns (/s)- I'm sure occasionally it must make the mods laugh, not always I'm sure.

Hobbygaming Hobbygaming dude can I tell you something - you need to step away, its pretty obvious both sides of this war of consoles has people getting triggered. I got into a bit of a debate over stupidity over rechargeable built in batteries vs aa batteries in another thread - I noticed a pattern, which I've noticed repeatedly the same 4 - 5 posters regurgitating the same thing, completely ignoring other stuff and posting the same thing again and again. I eventually got my point across but I was getting quite annoyed by the end. The reality is this is the game that is being played, they are trying to actively trigger you, they are trying to actively wind you up to the point where your monkey brain takes over and you end up doing or saying something really childish / stupid and getting temp banned or perma-banned. Its kind of trollish and when you take a look at the pattern, it becomes obvious, but its an easy trap to fall into and the best thing is just to leave it - meh whatever, does it really matter ? Is anyone paying you to defend a specific thing ? If not why waste your time and energy ?

I noticed during that whole thing, the thing I was arguing about, I could not give more of a shit about, honestly who gives a damn ? Most people don't give a crap, what has got you so angry / triggered right now, does it really bug you that much or is it about winning the argument / pride ?

1 Plastic box seems to have a loyal group of fanatics willing to back each other up and defend each other, the other plastic box has a much larger but far more disorganised group of fanatics, each side is trying to trigger the other side and the mods are sitting in the middle trying to balance selling advertising / keeping the site running vs handling the crazies that are getting triggered. This is the reality, its difficult to do, but when you begin to see red and start foaming up a little step away - leave it be.

I pride myself on never having used the report button on this site.

I'm not that kind of person and I never will be.

This sounds virtuous, but I think in reality you’re just laying more burdens on the mods. If no one reports anything, we’re expecting them to comb the forum constantly in order to do moderation.

If you want a well-moderated forum IMO, help a mod out by reporting things that really warrant reporting.

The biggest issue is going into any TLOU 2 thread to begin with. That was where you initially messed up OP

Indeed. I concluded long ago that the game was of no interest to me so I don't go there. Just as I don't bother going into Xbox or PS threads to troll those (though we see a lot of those guys trolling the Nintendo threads). Not everything is for everyone, so if something's not for you, you can certainly always pop in and politely state your reasons that it's not for you but you won't get a standing ovation and if you're trolling then really you have a peculiar loyalty to a brand that needs checking out.

This is the wrong place to be doing this. Take your issues to the ban/justice review thread.

Thank you.

To be honest, I very rarely see anything on here I would consider report-worthy (personal threats and such).

A few days ago, I got a warning strike for making a playful joke about the Dualshock 4 battery life. I just can't get into the head of someone who would report that post. I guess it's just cultural differences *Shrug*

If I’m reading the screenshots correctly (and I’m probably not), did OP get reported then go on a retaliatory reporting spree, for which he was warned?

This thread is an example of your lack of maturity. You could have just messaged the mods about this.
While I agree dude should of handled it a different way. Doing things in secrecy doesn't equal that you're mature.

I can't follow the original post at all. I literally have no idea what he is talking about.

Best I can parse is that he reported someone probably for not breaking the rules but for hurting his feels and the mods clapped back with a quick message telling him to chill out?

Then he decided to make this thread spazzing out without any proper detail, context or descriptions for the non social media generation to understand linearly what the hell he is talking about?

Well you surely were not acting mature in that topic.
Anyone that disagrees with you in that thread is getting the same responses from you:
- you are wrong (the "wrong" list is hilarious)
- you are not objective
- you haven't played it
And that's multiple times.

I've enjoyed some of your posts, hobbygamer. I don't really see the point of complaining about being reported, though.

I mean, anyone, with any level of intelligence (or none), can hit the report button. It doesn't mean anything other than "someone on the internet is upset with something I said." Big deal.

I don't think it reflects on the site. It's just a function of that particular interaction.

You can report people?

Well, you can report posts. Just look right below, to the left.

I sorta agree with this post.

I 100% agree with this post! I can't get myself to care that much to even think to use the "report" button.

It just draws the mods' attention to the post. It doesn't do anything more than that. Then the mods decide what to do about it. Often, the decision is to do nothing.

I know when I was a mod, we got a lot of "reports" that we rejected/ignored. A lot of them just occurred because some guy got upset with some other guy -- often in the context of some kind of console war argument. It's not worth bothering with.
