Flat brickwork...Pretty obvious.
Yeah, cleanup on trophies can be such a chore.. this really cuts through all the nonsense. Hope it works as well for all other games.Apologies for constant snippets. I’m still reading, and all of this packed into a single post would be a chore to view.
I wasn’t aware the feature was quite this cool. That is absolutely awesome. You get the choice whether you want to jump straight to the fun (or for some of us, the completionism), or just launch the game proper, and soak the whole, immersive Spider-Man experience in.
Both consoles have their strengths.
PS5 has an incredible controller, a faster (when optimised for it) SSD, a digital edition which doesn't compromise on specs and a pretty great game bundled to showcase the upgrade in Astro's Playroom.
Xbox Series X has Game Pass, supports a wider BC library and offers multiple improvements to older titles like auto-HDR, 16x AF and framerate doubling alongside being a more powerful machine.
That GI decided to wax lyrical about one list of benefits and not mention the other at all is disappointing.
Unlike with PS4/Xbox One or PS3/Xbox 360 launches, reviews have been positive for both consoles and it's looking like a strong generation for everyone. That should be celebrated.
Cool article.
I find it extremely funny to see an article literally made by copying a few other articles defined as "cool."
Guess certain outlets have a very low standard of what journalism is, and the same can be said of some readers.
It was a nice summary of the critical zeitgeist
I guess I’m sorry if that upsets you. Again, for the umpteenth time. I’m not a big fan of the media either, but I certainly don’t obsess about it to this level.
I agree. Sony is coming out of the gate terrible in comparison to Xbox, but I'm still going with PS5 for now. A couple more things, apparently ALLM may not be a thing on PS5 at launch either. Digital Foundry said they had to manually set their TV to game mode even though it supports ALLM...so who knows.Series X has
More power
More storage space
VRR
1440p support
Archiving next gen games on external drive
Auto HDR for BC games
Quick resume
Gamepass
Significantly improved load times for BC games (better than PS5)
Yet I'm still more excited to buy a PS5 over a Series X. I hope Sony patch the some of the stuff Series X has such as VRR, archiving games to external drives, quick resume in the first 6 months atleast. But the reason I prefer PS5 over Series X is because of the first party lineup in the first year in comparison to Series X. I also am more excited about the controller even though it's most likely gimmicky. Also like activity cards taking you straight into a certain point in a game instantly.
I think DF said that BC games on the PS5 are moved into HDR colorspace- this would be "auto HDR" if Im not wrong, so it seems to do something similar.
critical zeitgeist
Nah, not upset. Amused, yes. Slightly bitterly I guess, as outlets like Gamesindustry have been pretty literally throwing this job into the cesspit with their continuous focus on no-effort clickbait like this and partisan politics (separately or combined). Guess can't expect any better, but they never fail to fall in line with expectations every weekend.
He is lying about DF not being biased towards PS since well even? Even the 2013 comparisons were pro Xbox.
And now he things that suddenly changed? lol
What makes you so optimistic it will have even one big first party exclusive by mid - late 2021?That said, gamers want next gen exclusives now. Not Mid 21'-late 21'. Spin it any way you want but Microsoft not having launch exclusives to show off the power of the system is a huge fuck up.
He's totally full of shit, they thrive on all of it, and they play up emotions that they're people with feelings to get another select group of people to feel bad for them and defend them.
Their entire business is built from inciting controversy and then crying about the result of it.
XSX has great back compat, power, value, and potential. These are good enough reasons to pick one up at launch and feel good about your purchase. And when those exclusive games start rolling in it's gonna be great!

This is the reason the PS5 will be the better system to own next week. It has nothing to do with more or less power or special rumble controllers or storage space, any of that crap.
So.
Upset.
Let it go. I don’t know what happened, if you applied to IGN, and Tal ran behind you and pulled your pants down while the entire office laughed at you and your writing sample, but it comes off incredibly embittered and obnoxious.
The laugh emotes especially read as this:
It isn’t as if you aren’t entitled to your opinion. And certainly, we all get angry from time to time. But I’ve noticed such a constant throughline of negativity and misery from your posts.
Have more fun. Bitch less. It does wonders for you and everyone around you.
"I'll assume how someone feels, and hold that assumption regardless of what they actually feel, so that I don't actually have to address anything they say."
Incidentally, not sure what IGN has to do with it.
No, "gamers" don't care if a game is next gen exclusive or cross gen. COD will still be the highest selling game on the next gen when it comes out, even though it will come out on the current gen too. That said, gamers want next gen exclusives now.

Confirmation bias
Most people just want fun games, and that's why they'll buy a Switch
I'm quite surprised how many people dislike the look of the PS5.
I think it's quite slick. It would be even better if it was 20% smaller but if the large size keeps it running cool and quiet then so be it.
It looks too "gamer" for most people I think. That aesthetic got left behind long ago. Plus that size is just shockingly big.I'm quite surprised how many people dislike the look of the PS5.

So is the PS5 if you're going to look at it like that. The series X is a laptop upgrade. When you get it you are so excited but after awhile you just do whatever you were doing before with no change at all. Maybe an application will open faster here and there. Yay.
So true.I think I can survive without some vibration and resistance that's going to be supported in about 5% of games, also the SSD talk isn't really working out for you guys so far.
"This" is a gamesindustry.com article...You wonder why Sony fans are so aggressive in attacking people and console warring.
It comes from the top. Sony engages in it as a form of marketing. Just today we have this and the insomniac dev losing it wading right into the console warring.
I expect Phil to post a congrats when the ps5 launches.
That's does not negate the flat brickwork.

Where's the next-gen large scale game world?
"This" is a gamesindustry.com article...
Flatbricks with glass reflections (RT) = one step forward and one step backward. It's a 50GB game, a crossgen, yet it's the best looking so far with near infinite polygons and zero aliasing at native 4K with insane RT reflections draw distance. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

You’re going to trigger VFX so hard.
Which used the headline and linked to the article...I mean...is SONY not allowed to link to positive press now?The tweet at the very top of the very first page is Sony.
