I can't complete the stealth tutorial. It says i need to hold tab while tagging enemies with middle mouse button. It doesn't work. I also tried rebinding it to a key but doesnt work either.

If this is what the state of the game is like it should have stayed in the oven for another half a year or so...

Wait really? You could even change your hair in Witcher 3
thats what probably the "free" DLC will be in Q1 2021

all the missing features that should have been in the game from day one anyway

This feels like when they port PS4/X1 games to Switch. Like, it runs, it still pretty much looks like the game, but with glaucoma and at framerates that would be dodgy on PS1. I mean it's still a beautiful game in some sense, it seems like a lot of the effects and stuff are still there, but at what cost?

Based on some of the pre-release footage, I was kind of worried they had watered things down to make it work on consoles, but no, I think they just showed the game on conservative settings for whatever reason, maybe to play the middle. But full-stop this game feels like the new Crysis, a fully next-gen title questionably down-ported to last gen.

I said this in a previous thread, but you are on a base PS4, a machine that is close to a decade old. At some point you have to upgrade.

Hard disagree. There is a big difference between a game being toned down for a console or an older system and a game just not running correctly on a system! The game crashes, stutters, pop-ins and more crazy bullshit. Why do other titles look incredible on 7 year old hardware but this runns like shit?!?

CDPR knew what was going on. And they still released it that way

So, uh, we’re going to get another patch by the weekend right?

Biggest issue on Pro version so far: I have subtitles off, but if I load up my game while someone is talking, their last line of dialogue will be subtitled and frozen at the bottom of the screen. Need to reload to a part where no one is speaking for the workaround 😕

Yeah, I starting to think I’m going to stop playing this janky ass piece of shit until a proper next gen console version comes out.

Fucking idiotic they didn’t delay console versions until the next gen was ready. Now we all get to play a vastly inferior product on machines capable of so much more.

Because those other games aren’t trying to do wha CP is doing.

yes, Im sure Madden or Assasins Creed(actually Valhalla runs pretty poorly on base consoles as well, ...but for the sake of the conversation) will run okay on your machine, but they aren’t trying to do anything new.

it isn’t going to go away either, as 2021 goes on into 2022, your going to see your machine struggle more and more. You are trying to play a next gen game on old gen hardware. That is just reality.

On my RTX 2080ti, at 1440p I set the settings to be all maxed out, including setting it to "psycho" level, which is above ultra - including RT lightning, and it runs nicely so far - I will check in the dense city, but so far it runs and looks great.

Is it true you can't change character appearance after creation? huge oversight in an RPG, no barber or anything? wtf
Yeah, you can change clothes of course, but nothing else.

Character creation is a little odd, like I can choose whether my character is circumcised or not, but I can't at all change their build to make them more fat/muscular/whatever, or customize tattoos beyond like 4 options.

This game is every thing I’ve ever wanted. I’m not even hyperboling. It really is something especial. I can’t put the controller down :messenger_persevering: soooo good.

I played on Xbox yesterday and playing on PC today. Night and day.

I love CDPR. They stayed their ground. I hope they never change. With each year gaming activists are getting crazier and crazier. Ridiculous demands one after another. They need to go. This nutters should go back and play UbiSoft games. That’s exclusively for them.

Enjoy this game lads. There is nothing like this in the market. Nothing.

This game without it’s numerous bugs will be the absolute G.O.A.T, One could argue it already is.

Well started running into my first bugs: Jackie puts his chopsticks into the food he’s eating then puts the food down and a second pair of chopsticks just hung in the air even after we got up and walked away.

Then about two seconds after I got out of a car ride I see a dude just floating down the street like he’s driving but no car.

Occasionally civilians will all just be ducking for no apparent reason?

Nothing game breaking or anything at this point, just some immersion breaking stuff

Played about 3 hours so far. Enjoying the game, especially as it starts to open up. I'm don't think I'm quite past the intro segment, but access the broader map. I find I'm getting my ass handed to me trying to complete some side gigs, so maybe I'll focus on the main quest for a little longer.

Visual wise, the game is a mixed bag (on PS5). Looks really good in some places, but definitely last gen in others. I'm getting a good framerate with no noticeable dips so far which is great, and haven't experienced any major bugs.

Played 90 minutes or so after midnight last night. Wasn’t going to, but got sucked in as a couple of buddies were chatting about playing the PC version on our Bordelands group text thread and got me stoked to play.

Really enjoyed the little I played. Started as Nomad and just did the stuff to get to the city, played through the four combat, stealth etc tutorials and called it a night.

It’s definitely not a great looking game graphically. Even by last gen standards it’s not great and even Witcher 3 looks better to me. Im just approaching it like a Bethesda RPG where I’m there for the stormy characters and questing and expecting mediocre graphics and a lot of bugs. I don’t expect the next gen upgrade to do that much for me as I don’t think the PC versions look all that great either. Benefit there will be getting quality mode (XSX only) details and number of pedestrians etc in 60FPS hopefully). On that note, so far I definitely prefer quality mode. Never been that fussed about FPS other than wanting it stable and think this loses too much graphically, pedestrian density etc. to play in performance now. Hopefully the next gen upgrade will change that n

So a few hours in now and can give more rounded opinions

Crashes
I've had two crashes on PS5, both entering and exiting the Mox club - I think this is going to be related to auto save or something. Aside from that, runnning fine.

Thoughts
I think people with heavy criticism had built this up to be Blade Runner basically. Kind of melanchonic, poignant type of city and tone. For me, it's much more like a mash up of edgy 80's characters from warriors and escape from New York, set in a kind of Total Recall world. I think if you get past that, you realise it is actually a fantastically crafted world. I was skeptical of the first person view but it absolutely works. The gunplay so far has actually been decent. I'm kind of sold.

The game chucks an enormoius amount of info at you at the start, and when you open the perks chart - wowzer. I feel like everything is meaningful, I can't randomly just pick +crit or +gun. Crazy.

Reception
I think online, people seem to be over amplifying issues with the game because of controversy etc. trying to make them much bigger than what they actually are. Obviously not talking about the real issues on last gen or graphics drivers here.

Are you sure there are no walls between you and characters?

People are holding onto these bugs, because there isn’t much to criticize the actual game about.
So far the writing and story is boring, also your choices don't matter, the game feels a lot on rails in main mission, the only sidequest I did was a mediocre scann and hack, and where is the verticality? The game has a lot of flaws but people will focus on bugs and performance naturally.

Have to say, I'm shocked at how good the gunplay feels. Melee could use dismemberment honestly; the fists feel pretty good too.

This game is blowing my mind - my only gripe, the licensed music choices are mostly garbage. I don't think I've heard one track that fits in a 'cyberpunk' world.

I haven’t turned off HDR for a xsx game yet but I’ll give it a go.

am I supposed to turn it off on the system level under settings or in game settings somewhere?

I feel you 🫂

No other game blew me away like CyberPunk, anywhere you go you experience how much love and passion was poured into this game. Ain't nobody getting near to this type of caliber production levels.

The handwaving for the bugs is ridiculous. The game is good, yes, but it could be better if it actually released in a finished state so that everyone could enjoy it to it's fullest.

It's annoying when immersion breaking bugs like this happen and all the pedestrians are walking through the floor:

In contrast to it looking like this moments after once the bug decides to resolve itself:

No way to save or export your characters look either. Seems like a bit of an oversight.

game controls and movements takes so time to used to it, again its not same as other first person view games, i would say again more slugish same as witcher 3 was, or its just that feeling , or it made then to feel that way, like punching is not instant as well as shooting, stealth works more hard way then it should be i guess, but it works its there, you can be stealthy even inside small rooms.
game has some very cool details all over, sounds in backround makes all more alive i guess.
