Fantasian OT is up for those interested:

Ok, so now that I've had my Apple Watch for two weeks now I have some things to say:

- Love the activity rings. Motivates me to work out, and seeing those badges pop up from time to time are pretty damn cool.
- Love the integration between my MacBook and watch. Letting me unlock my MacBook without having to input my password is so damn convenient.
- Noise levels and integration with AirPods are pretty fucking cool.
- Paying metro and bus with the watch is so damn goooooood.
- Some other apps like WeChat integrate nicely with the watch, as it lets me lock and unlock my Mac WeChat client (hope they eventually allow for WeChat Pay).
- The battery lasts me one day and half easily. Every time I charge my watch I still have around 35% (I charge everyday when I get home)
- Fits nicely into my style. Looking forward to buying more bands for it.
- Listening to music on it without the need of having my phone is so goooooooooood.

Things that I don't like:

- Sleep tracking is shit. Like, really really shit. My miband before had more details and it was way more precise than this.
- That thing to monitor weird behaviors on your heart is locked by location. My country, Portugal, has that function but since I'm living in China they don't let me use it. It's pretty fucking shit.
- No integration with my iPad.
- Health App missing from Mac and iPad. I really hate this. I always track all my data but only being able to do it on my slow ass iPhone 8 it's kinda meh.

Overall, worth the money. really love this little watch (and it's fucking beautiful).

I use Autosleep for sleep stats. I think it was $1 or $2 USD. Worth the cost if you want more details on sleep patterns, IMO.

I bought it last night but doesn't seem to work. Keeps saying that the app doesn't have permissions even though it has.

Ok managed to fix it by reinstalling the app. Now it has all the details from last night.

It might need some nudging on your actual sleep times. It took a while for mine to register what my actual sleep times are.

Check Updated MacBook Pro's on apple page
Are you a bot?

My company just bought the M1 Mac mini for my iOS development and this little thing is pretty fucking amazingly ok. I have my own 2015 MacBook Pro, and to be honest I don't see much difference. I was expecting something out of this world, especially after all the hype. Not that it's bad, at all - still fast and plenty capable.

But I guess it's Apple, so everything is hype as fuck (yeah I know that the M1 gives better battery life on laptops, but for a desktop like the mini is pretty ok to be honest).

And thanks to Maiden Voyage Maiden Voyage for the AutoSleep recommendation. Pretty cool app that I use everyday.

I’m surprised professional already jump on M1. Normally, they are much slower to move.

Yeah. Here's hoping someone like Waterfield will do a more cost effective version. I do like the look of the leather holder and considering leather fobs are easy to make, I suspect there will be a market here.

Prolly bag & car keys

8 total most likely. 2 for the key chains (wife & me), 2 for the cars themselves, 2 for the dogs, and 2 for misc travel stuff (bags most likely)

Mr. Community
Cost of material for the fob holder is less than 5$
Labour would take somewhere between 15-30 minutes.

Hermes is really raking in money with their leather scraps

Oh yeah. I live in a country with centuries old tradition of marroquinería (manufacturing of small leather objects) and I can assure you Hermes just takes production cost and adds 2 zeroes to it.

Man, I really want that new iMac. I suspect it is better to wait out the 27" refresh, as MKBHD suggests. I love the way these things look and upgrading to M1 is super tempting.

I'm interested in buying an airtag for my keychain, but are there any air tag holders on apple.com besides those super expensive hermes ones?

Who would pay $350 for a keychain holder?

This seems even more ridiculous than the $1000 monitor stand to me.

Also, will shipping be free on these air tags? Wondering if I should wait until they are available easily in stores.

Yeah, Apple has their version and places like DBrand and a Elkton have cheaper options announced. Momentum, but they are a higher tier as well.

Can you please link to the apple one? I don't see it on their site

It’s weird that they don’t have a good section for Airtag or all the accessories. When i go on their website, i have no idea if i should pick Mac/iPhone/Music or whatever for airTag.
I started with iPhone but if you search airtags the results show the tags & accessories first.

So my iPhone 8 has been getting slower and slower, while getting hot just for using 4G. Yesterday I decided it was enough for me and went ahead and bought an iPhone 12. And I got a discount on it so it was a good deal.

this is soooooooooo fucking fast! And face id is pretty fucking amazing, faster than touch ID. And today Apple just released the newest iOS, so i can enjoy using my Apple watch with my iPhone even more.
What an amazing phone, I’m blown away 🥺🥺🥺

The hell did they do to the podcasts app?

I can’t remove episodes from Up Next now..

Even if I mark as played it’s still there. I used to swipe and delete.. but that’s not available now either.

I swear.. every time they do something to the podcasts app it gets worse.

I wish I didn't need to have Wifi on for the watch unlock to work. Wifi on drains the battery like fucking crazy - they should have used bluetooth only.

Same for the iPhone. I'm one of those guys that is super careful because of battery - if I'm using 4G/5G I turn off the wifi, If I'm using Wifi I turn off Data.
