What's sad is his argument is perfectly fine. I get it, and I see his side.
But why do they feel the need to take it public and try to shame people, get them fired, or cancelled? Does professionalism mean nothing? They had a (presumably) rational debate behind the scenes. Yes it may have gotten heated, but a non-violent exchange of words is never a bad thing. Keep it at that. This never needed to be made public.

Or, or just hear me out, let creators make their games in peace and make your own designs if you want or don't want some specific thing. The issue is attacking artist in general for making something more or less of something.
So they "change" the faces is moot, as a concept artist, when I use reference i change many things..... Some of you literally believe the default should be a clone, carbon copy, 1.1 exact model of the reference, it can be that, it doesn't mean by default it "should" be that, it simply means its a fucking option, not a requirement, not some law and not some default thing and not a conspiracy cause something was changed. Its a moot point, 99% of reference in art is changed to fit something, as in I want her eye brows, I want this other persons nose and I want this other persons figure etc.

What is happening is on purpose, not because its a conspiracy, because they are purposely seeking a few things from a reference they like to add on to the thing they are thinking about in their heads, thus moot. So when I hear the word "change" used this way, it tries to make it sound like something odd, strange, out of the ordinary etc is happening, yet that is a moot point as a concept arts most times is using part of a reference for something vs 1.1 copying. It is called anthropomorphism. Look at Ratchet. If you looked at him from the neck down the only things he has in common with a fox is a tail and fur. He has a human-like torso, legs, ankles that are low to the ground unlike most quadrupeds, and hands with 4 fingers and opposable thumbs. Even with his face, he lacks an elongated snout and has only 4 pointy teeth. He looks more like a human than a space fox. Having he and Rivet conform to the sexual dimorphism commonly associated with humans makes perfect sense considering they were always supposed to look like us.

I know a lot of people liked Rivet but her addition did nothing for me, if they had make it a pure R&C game I'd have been just fine with it. I'm glad we didn't have to play as her all the time, Sony's 1st party games have a lot of female leads and I don't think they need to start taking time away from Ratchet because some female artist at the studio suggested "why not a girl?" I'm not saying that's how it happened but I would be shocked either. She was fine don't get me wrong but she played and looked almost exactly like Ratchet so what was the point. That being said I don't know how you'd make her look feminine, yes she'd have 'breasts" but the only time you see most mammals "breasts" is when they are nursing otherwise they are pretty much hidden by fur.
