If someone wasn't willing to spend $300 on a PS4 to play an entire library worth of exclusives, then I don't see why they would spend $500 to play a single game. I mean people like that probably exist, but I doubt they're a significant source of revenue for Sony. They probably make more from console owners double-dipping than they do from those people.

In my case i double dip to encourage all games to come on the platform down the road and because it was impossible to know then.
But for next horizon and god of war or any other license that has found its way to pc the objective is to wait.
It's a non issue when number of games I'm interested in far outweighs my time to play
And if i fall to hype and fomo sometime will too....
I'm in a situation where i can choose, i like that and will abuse it.

Reason why this view exists is because people think consoles are such exclusive powered machines, yet the actual console base of users hasnt really budged in 20 years. If it was so big, console sales would be much bigger especially since gaming is a lot bigger now than decades ago. But it seems the big chunk of growth in gaming is from PC and mobile.
The biggest console base was during the 360/PS3/Wii era, and that even excludes the tons of DS and PSP sales. Then it dropped during the One/PS4/Wii U era. NOw it's picking up again with X/PS5 and Switch killing two birds with one stone console/handheld.
Even the DC/PS2/XBox/GC had over 200M consoles sold.

I mean we did get to play this years ago on consoles and the sequel next year. Sony are milking pc gamers with this strategy and it's working. The pc version of this will probably pay for the ragnarok budget lol.

I think it'll do well, but the Steam charts have to be watched for days/weeks to see a true "big seller" as they constantly update, kinda like the Amazon charts. When a biggish game goes up for pre-order it generally will be at or near the top that day.
Will know a lot more after release since Steam isn't difficult to track.

Never applied to me. As far as im concerned all PS4 games will eventually come to PC. Including Spiderman 2018 and Ghost of Tsushima eventually.
Im guessing PS5 games will come to PC 3 or 4 years after release also.

I mean, not enough to go and buy a console for a few interesting exclusives and then experience it at 30fps, barely holding 4K, no anisotropic filtering, etc. If it’s available on PC and they did a good enough port, I’m not sure if it’s expected that we won’t buy it? It’s a PC game at this point, there’s no console experience involved.

Wouldn't this support that idea? If PC gamers cared about console games, they would have already bought it on PS4/5, and it wouldn't be selling much on PC. PC gamers likely care about games on their platform, and they aren't going to change their preferences and habits to experience a couple games.
