They better get people who know how to make a good show. Since this new generation, Sony is drifting.

PS4 era was all about surprises and big moments and they still haven’t got into the groove this generation

With the rumors that PSVR2 is already in production, it would make sense that they show it, some games, and announce a release date sooner rather than later. It doesn't matter when they release it, as far as sales. They will sell every unit they can make.
I think it's a little too early for this. My guess is closer to June for psvr2 unveil.

We still need God of War gameplay, and what ever naughty dog is doing with TLOU2

Ghostwire Tokyo and GoW:R must be dated in this one with some gameplay showcase. Horizon doesn't need another long deep dive honestly. Since Neil spoke at CES2022 saying ND is itching to show some stuff from their multiple projects, I guess this is a good place as any for them.

It will be either PSX event like in autumn or State of Play. Just like usually will be overhyped and at most will live up the hype partially at best.

We will probably see Ghostwire there.

Can’t muster any excitement over these state of plays. They have been boring as fuck over the last two years.

The last good Sony event was in September of 2020.
Pretty much.

There was more hype for stuff during PS4 first few years. When I hear State of Play, I feel like I wanna nap. Just sleep inducing shit after shit.

I still don't have any desire to go out and buy a PS5. I can at least make a case for an Xbox with Hellblade 2 and StarField because Xbox has actually showed some gameplay of Hellblade and they're releasing little updates on StarField.
God of War, Horizon and GT7 is all cross gen. Where the fuck are my next gen PS5 exclusives?!

Hope it’s something big! They got the VR-stuff out of the way already it seems so at least they won’t waste a show on that stuff, which is nice.

Makes sense , they need some release dates to be announced for a couple of things already shown, Hogwarts legacy for one. As the hype cycle ends for their last batch of titles: GT7 , HFW , GOW as they get closer to release they need to get people excited for the ones on the horizon

Honestly at this point Sony could have a 1 hour conference and it still wouldn't cover everything they are doing.

It's weird how they were all about the hype and now are completely secretive and barely announcing stuff 2 years before they release.

Hope it's not just another 20 minute State of Play...

Sony had their PS4 reveal in February for a Holiday release so I'm guessing the official reveal for the PSVR2. Seeing as Horizon is likely the Day 1 release and the rumour of Half Life Alyx as well has me buying on day 1. Give me some Resident Evil Village in VR as I skipped it because I'm waiting to experience it in VR.

Eh something like a VR peripheral doesn't need a full marketing cycle like a entire console release. A June reveal with a November release would still work

PSVR details came out in March for an October release. Price and a few showings for launch. I wouldn't rule out a PSVR State of Play.

You can't base things from the past marketing cycles have gone shoter over the years. I'm personally expecting regular State of Play end of February to showcase God of War Gameplay Walkthrough and earlier than expected release date (August?) , as well as Last of Us news to coincide a game release with the TV show coming end of the year. A PlayStation Event showcasing PS VR I'm expecting in May with VR 2 release date in November.

If true, hopefully Sony doesn't make the mistake of inundating the show with PSVR2 and games that are exclusive to VR. Millions of gamers purchased a PS5 for new experiences and they don't want another $400-$600 barrier of entry to hinder them at the moment.

People want to know what to expect from their next-gen console outside of the next 12 months. We've known and seen a lot of Horizon, GT7, and GoW for the past year and a half now and it's time they show some new AAA IP designed for core gamers.

wtf is up with Bully... I never understood the magic.
Anyway - it is known cancelled game. Rockstar is dying.
Besides that... really? The list is very tame. Almost nothing new or exciting. Bunch of games we know about

Show me more Japanese games and less Marvel shiet.
So much this. I still think Sony is better at bringing weird and out of field games to the surface but I hope they don’t continue full-on into this blockbuster Hollywood Marvel approach. We need balance at the very least.

I really hope Returnal DLC is not a thing honestly. I love it and it’s now one of my favourite games ever but that story had complete closure. They need some really clever and brilliant idea to come back to Atropos and it has to be without Selene. But then Returnal without Selene isn’t Returnal. I don’t know.

Can’t wait for some news on up coming stuff. Expect a Horizon and GT7 state of play with hopefully some extra surprises.

Oh definitely. Less Marvel shit please. I really dislike marvel universe but PlayStation seems to be becoming Marvelbox this gen. One more goofy, autistic ass Marvel bullshit game and I’m ready stop with this damn console.

They have a lot to show, but last year several "insiders" said an event would happen and nothing happened. Won't buy this shit till I see it.

A Feb event has been rumored for months now anyway, so not like they're giving new info.
They have an 'event' almost every month if we include the State of Plays. Btw, there was supposed to be a PlayStation Experience event last December according to rumors. Where is it?
