Yes...for $3000 maybe. After seeing the Mac Studio, I think Apple could make a great console

Bullshit they are.
biggest company when you look at gaming revenue, they just play in a different sandbox.Re-enter the gamin market? When did they left it?
That's not an issue these days, differences in architecture can be mostly transparent for the developer providing they didn't develop the code with a lot of specific dependencies.Sure they are. Their new processors are extremely capable and would be a perfect fit for a console, considering their integrated nature. The issue is, of course, that they aren't running x86, so it would take a lot of work for the developers to port their games.
It's 2022. You don't need a Box to stream anymore and there already is one major playing doing just that. The scary thing is what Apple might do to push the industry to an awful place for enthusiasts. Imagine introducing a stream box that becomes mega successful then everyone follows. Yes I know the last big corporation who tried this (Google) failed miserably but still.
I'm taking games here and talking big scale. It's 2022. You don't need a Box to stream anymore and there already is one major playing doing just that.
You don't like capitalist driven neutral pseudo-woke authoritarianism that's heavily reliant on falacies and cherry picked information that only suits them.I don't know why, but I hate Apple. I only had one Apple device, an ipad, and it worked great, so it's not something related to a bad experience with their products. I simply hate their brand and I don't know why.
Well, you should never trust Apple on that front, but the M1 and anything over it is probably safe for a while, perhaps 5 years+ of support. It's a good baseline so they might as well try to lower die size and with it production costs, this while keeping the level of performance mostly similar instead of increasing it.I have no doubt that they can make the hardware, but I just don’t trust them to not abandon it so I don’t really feel comfortable spending lots of money on games for it.
Hateful people going to hate.I don't know why, but I hate Apple. I only had one Apple device, an ipad, and it worked great, so it's not something related to a bad experience with their products. I simply hate their brand and I don't know why.
Both have proven to be innovative in their indifferent response to the Russian-Ukranian conflict.Apple should just buy Nintendo
so great at their hardware design in fact that Louis Rossmann has made multiple videos on how amazing it is....Considering that Apple are some of the best, if not the best, hardware designers around, it would certainly be interesting if they decide to go all in.
So basically the Apple TV box becomes the Apple Arcade box. Meh. iOS games.

You’re telling me that cheap labor, aluminum and glue got very expensive?
Tim Cook gets payed a fortune every month… yeah definitely inflation!
I don't care much for random clickbait by a random Youtuber. Sorry. I trust you have better arguments than that?
I think they will do their own thing like they’ve been doing with Apple TV+. I guess that adding games to the AppleTV box as one of the key selling points it is a natural step for them. With the advancements they have made with their new chip it has a lot of potential. The scary thing is what Apple might do to push the industry to an awful place for enthusiasts. Imagine introducing a stream box that becomes mega successful then everyone follows. Yes I know the last big corporation who tried this (Google) failed miserably but still.
Eh? Apple Arcade is the best thing to happen to modern day mobile gaming. No ads, no MTX and good games. If they can stay on this track a console from them could be pretty cool. The scary thing is what Apple might do to push the industry to an awful place for enthusiasts. Imagine introducing a stream box that becomes mega successful then everyone follows. Yes I know the last big corporation who tried this (Google) failed miserably but still.
I like Apple but no, those Macbooks thermal throttling are anything but good design.Considering that Apple are some of the best, if not the best, hardware designers around, it would certainly be interesting if they decide to go all in.

It's one of the top companies, but not the biggest one. Other ones like Tencent and Sony are above Apple.biggest company when you look at gaming revenue, they just play in a different sandbox.
Yeah I was mistaking revenue for profit. It's one of the top companies, but not the biggest one. Other ones like Tencent and Sony are above Apple.
I’d lap this up, it would dominate and obliterste competition in terms of hardware. DO IT.
They should not, just use M1-based gaming and you're good to go. The Mac Mini could be their console-like entry with enough power, more powerful than Xbox Series S, at least, if not main current gen consoles.
The M1 powered Mac mini isn’t as powerful as the Series S, GPU wise.
Better CPU, certainly.
