This is how I took it aswell. They are basically saying it without saying it. A business would never say we can't do it. Instead they've said none of the biggest developers on the planet could make a comoetitor. That's basically saying including themselves without saying it.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter. They just want to try and stop it going through. I wonder if it will have any effect on it.
Elder Scrolls VI exclusive to Xbox, isn't coming to PlayStation
Xbox chief Phil Spencer confirms The Elder Scrolls VI is exclusive to Xbox platforms (including PC) and won't be on PlayStation.www.tweaktown.com
If you read carefully, Sony goes on to say:They are basically saying it without saying it. A business would never say we can't do it. Instead they've said none of the biggest developers on the planet could make a comoetitor. That's basically saying including themselves without saying it.

Did they say games, or content?Microsoft said they'll continue to support existing communities and honour existing contracts re the Bethesda deal
Microsoft said the above, in addition to pledging that they'll continue to release games beyond those contracts re the Activision deal
Again, listen the lawyers.
Did they say games, or content?
Future warzone "games" would I would assume still come out for playstation as well, with unlockables tied to the mainline releases. Get to have their cake and eat it too
Same goes for FIFA. Sony should just buy FIFA and they're good.Which implies even if the game can match or even surpass COD in terms of graphics and gameplay, COD would still come out on top because it's just to popular, not to mention the fan base is very loyal and wouldn't switch.
Nobody can rival CoD except the OG ex-CoD devs a k.a. Respawn Entertainment. TF1&2 at their core play exactly like CoD but have their own twist and uniqueness added to it. Most other devs out there don't even know how to make good controls to begin with.
or pay just pay for marketing and early shit. Far cheaper and bring the money too.Probably true. Sony likes money. If they could make a game that rivals COD's odd stranglehold on the multiplayer fps market, they would have done it already.
Link? They aren't going exclusive whatsoever. Mw2 will be on playstation, so will warzone in continuity. They're also going to pc, and phones/tvs through xcloud, as will all mainline titles that aren't on playstation.
ESO is still on playstation, they've announced ES 6 won't be, just like fallout 76 will continue to be, and fallout 5 won't be (in 20 years lol)
Did I quote you saying those games?Still holding out hope for ES6? OW2
They didn't buy Activision to give 30 percent of revenue to Sony. But they're not going to pull existing games that have been announced (we have examples already) or already exist because it'd be a PR shit storm, and increase scrutiny on future acquisitions.
Why?How many copies have GTA4 and GTAV sold?
No, poor OP. Misleading title. Sony does not say none of "their devs" can make a rival to COD.
https://www.ign.com/articles/call-of-duty-will-release-on-playstation-warzone-2022They said titles.
Doesn't matter anyway. They didn't use that language with Bethesda. That's the point.
That is even worst/better for MS/Sony respectivelyNo, poor OP. Misleading title. Sony does not say none of "their devs" can make a rival to COD.

OK so, mw2, warzone 2, and 2023 cod which I was wrong about, but I also remember reading that they were going into a 2 year cycle (could be wrong there as well)
Sounds an awful lot they plan on dropping playstation to me
Is that Paris Hilton?
Did I quote you saying those games?
"Sony will get mw2, continued warzone updates, and never see a mainline entry again"
Going to keep making stuff up?
If you’re a business that’s adverse to money I suppose. Is this a bad thing? Not making a game that rivals COD should be worn as a badge of honor.
Seems like the typical GTA game blows away any COD game in sales. They might not come out often, but what has GTAV sold? Google says 160M.Why?
Individually sure, but CoD has sold as much or more over multiple releases in the same timeframe,Seems like the typical GTA game blows away any COD game in sales. They might not come out often, but what has GTAV sold? Google says 160M.
No, I suggested I could easily be wrong for a reason. You could easily be as well, you have no clue whether the contract was for a length of time or number of games or whatever the fuck.So you think they're skipping 2023 COD because they plan to drop PS? And not because the yearly releases have become unsustainable which we've all known about?
The contract doesn't void just because of a delay fyi. It just means the contract extends to 2024
So?Seems like the typical GTA game blows away any COD game in sales. They might not come out often, but what has GTAV sold? Google says 160M.
Sure, and we've seen the lengths companies will go to if capitalism is the sole consideration. And if it is, I don't see how creating a superior franchise to COD in terms of fanbase would even be necessary. If you’re a business that’s adverse to money I suppose.
Are you talking about the OP title of the content after the headline?
That's probably one of the most desperate statements I've seen them put out. Effective, No. Funny, Yes.
Microsoft has been anti-consumer for a LONG time. Also this thread title needs changing.... MODS!!!It's creates a monopoly. Monopolies will almost always increasingly become anti-consumer
Remember when the deal was first announced and people here were trying to convince everyone that losing CoD would have no detrimental effect on Sony?

Fwiw I want it to be multiplat so Microsoft feels the need to keep buying and releasing games day one on gamepass.
For all you or I know, they could also just give massive delays to playstation releases, but the idea that they're going to share in perpetuity is asinine
Seems like GTA surpasses COD to me.
I'm talking about this:
Read the last sentence.I'm talking about this:
So?. What is the point?Seems like GTA surpasses COD to me.
FIFA might even surpass COD too. I think FIFA games sell 20M annually as well.
Are you reading what you posted in comparison to what you said?Call of Duty: Activision Reportedly Wants To Release Next Three Games On PlayStation Despite Xbox Acquisition - IGN
The next three annual Call of Duty games are still set to be released on PlayStation as a result of existing commitments.www.ign.com
I missed cod 23 which was delayed to 24, so who knows about that
Common sense dictates the rest, will probably still get games like spyro which don't sell consoles (when Nintendo exists), but cod would absolutely shift the market
Saying EA, Take-Two and Epic couldn't make a COD rival is funny?
From the position it's coming from, yes.
There's no reason why EA, Take-Two and Epic can't compete. To even say that about Epic with the $ that Fortnite has brought in over the years, especially with COD trying to position against Fortnite and not the other way around.
Unless Activision has some voodoo going we are unaware of, they are just mortal developers like the rest.
The scale is not even comparable.Sony: We like to buy stuff but don't like it when our competition does.
Like with psygnosis? The scale is not even comparable.
It’s like buying Doritos vs the whole store
