first of all its confirmed to be a real leak. this is GTA VI.

its a development build so it’s using assets (textures, models, sound files, etc) from GTA V and even RDR2. that is common in development. back when GTA V was in development it was using GTA IV assets.

rockstar need to go through all their systems to make sure they are secure. development is most likely paused now until this is done. it can take months for a forensic team to go through everything and for everyone to have their systems made safe. if any personal data is in the leaks then that is only going to make things worse.

i thought we’d get announcement this year with a release in 2024 but that might not be possible now. rockstar need to have an investigation and see what the situation is before they can resume development. while its not on the same scale look how CD Projekt Reds hacking incident affected their post cyberpunk development of dlc/expansions. It took months to recover from that.

Alot of footage are actually missing assets. You can see most of the NPC are just mannequin without the cloths, skin, hair assets, etc. Enviroment also missing alot of assets.

Its mostly the devs testing out various behaviors and animations. It looks like something you do very earlier in development. Was expecting more from the Gaffers that think this is how the game actually looks like by the time it gets released.

gtx 1080 being 7 year old is irrevelant. it is still faster than series s when you leave ray tracing out of the equation. and unless rockstar decides to go full ham on nextgen with mesh shaders and dx12 ultimate, this game will still most likely run faster on a gtx 1080 than it will on a series s

rockstar did this with GTA 5 too. that game, even at its launch, used to work wonderfully with hardware you have not even heard of.



even the ancient gtx 660 from 2012 ran gta 5 at high settings/60 fps.

rockstar likes to maximize their earnings; they will want as much people as possible to comfortably enjoy their games. so yes, this game might even get released on a PS4, and could run great on a 1080 when it is released.

5 year old gtx 480 (at the release time of gta 5) also ran gta 5 at 1080p/high 60+ frames

You'd be surprised not a lot of people understand what making a game looks like up until the last year of development lmao. A lot of grey box test areas for various mechanics. People think lighting, weather, animations, and physics are all baked in during these stages just don't know.

Nah. There very hight quality environment stuff there. You can pretty much have an idea. In fact this looks very far in development. Other games leaks with literally no textura and stuff. It will look better when releases for sure but I don't expect much. But well see
