My max would be $20 per month for Ultimate. I play big time-sink multiplayer/MMO games over multiple years. If I went from single player game to single player game, I would probably get more value from Gamepass. I also play a bunch of Japanese games and many of them never end up on Gamepass. I game on both Xbox and PC, and use XCloud, so I get value there.

Current pricing is maximum.
If it goes higher, I will just cut out the live portion and just go console only. I don't play multi-player, so it really doesn't matter.
Good thing is I did the 3 year thing, and I replenished it during black friday sale - so I'm set for another couple of years - but will see.
If I can keep doing (buying at cheap to replenish), I may keep doing it - as it's far cheaper than paying month-to-month.

How in the fuck do some of you do it? Paying a mortgage/renting a house. Netflix/Disney+ etc, your mobile phone plans, internet plans PLUS a sub service for gaming! When does it all end?! When can we ever OWN anything and be happy with it? When does it all become too much with this subscription bullshit? I'm not quite sure why everyone is so content to piss their money away on all these sub services never owning it but just renting! I mean, you do you but I just don't get it.

For me how much is too much for game pass ultimate? Whatever it's worth now is too much. I'm happy to purchase what I want and play it till it's done then move on to the next game. Maybe I'm just "old fashioned" (i'm only 42) but this life of never owning stuff yet still paying for it is absolutely crazy!

Above $20 for me if there are no discounts for annual subscription. I admit it sounds cheap but I do not only consume Game Pass games throughout the year. I would have to purchase 4+ AAA MS titles for it to pay off. That sounds like a reasonable cutoff for me since I would most likely only purchase 1 or 2 AAA MS titles and a few AA/indies/sale priced games. Of course, I could sub on months that have a must have title I want to try out. The only downside I see is all of my multiplayer games will have to go to PS5/PC since I will not be subbing to Gold/Game Pass in the event it gets too expensive. Same goes for PS+. If they start jacking the price too I would just do multiplayer on PC only.

I'm curious how many times you're revisiting the same content again and again though?

Most content I want to revisit remains on the service a good length of time, if not indefinitely. I've found it's also good to get access to things I don't personally pick, as it does show you hidden gems you otherwise would have missed out on.

I'm more than happy with never owning again as long as I've got access to new things all the time.

I'm in Australia and it's $15.95 AUD for Ultimate per month currently, for me that's already questionable because besides Forza which I play regularly, I don't think there is a lot of quality games for me overall personally. They really need to start churning out those day 1 exclusives to increase the price. If the service keeps improving then I would probably pay maximum circa $20. I pay for Netflix Premium tier (so I can get Atmos for my home theatre) which is currently now $22.99 per month, that's probably my limit. Once Netflix increase again, I will cancel and turn to downloading all the shows/movies from the streaming services I want off the net.

If it went above $15 I'd sub for 1 month at a time when something juicy came out on it. Most of my gaming is now on Steam Deck so if they added an app for the full Game Pass experience on one, I'd keep my sub at the $10 price for PC. That would be nice.

Before there were subs I would buy tons of games, DVD movies and series when I’d be looking for something to play/watch and it would cost me a lot more money, usually 200-300 per month, sometimes more since I’d occasionally buy special editions.

With subs I have a constant buffer of things to try so it has cured my impulse buying habit entirely, I buy maybe 5 games a year and 1-2 BR movies.

I understand people who hate it but for me the sub era is a blessing for my budget.

Depends what's on offer.

Let's say Microsoft pull off the ultimate deal with third party publishers. All third party published games are released day one on Ganepass, plus with the added guarantee that no game ever leaves the service.

If that was what's on offer then I'd happily pay £70 per month for it.

Unleas it becomes a library worth that price of course.

I just reupped my game pass ultimate this morning. I bought 2 years from best buy (digital code) then a month of gamepass from microsoft, so i got 25 months for like $120

I expect the price to go up, but I also expect the value proposition to change with it.

It will be hard for us to say what we are willing to pay, until we see at the time what we would be paying for, vs. what our other options are.

I expect them to make it feel pretty painful to cancel with all the stuff you're getting.

I have no interest in subs at this point. I have 2 more months of PS+ Premium and will not renew hopefully for a long time. I have a huge backlog and subscribing to services makes you completely ADHD and you can’t finish anything.

Gamepass was amazing for the 3 month trial I got when I had the S but you quickly realise you’re just spending time trying games you really don’t like. There’s a potential to find stuff that completely surprises you but i would say at least in my case the chances are very small.

$15.00. Once their first party output ramps up and if the Activision/Blizzard purchase go through, then $20.00.

I would say 29,99€ per month will be STOP sign for me.
But i doubt we will reach that point for next 20 years and even if we will I doubt that my income will stay the same.

If Microsoft keeps putting single-player games day one on it at the price of one new game a month, I think that's still value.

There's a difference between what i would deem "fair" and whether or not i would personally pay for it. If they're going above 20 or 25 i would still think it's a really good offer and that it can suit people that like a wide variety of games and have a consistent free time to spend in it.

But i would probably not pay for it because it's already not absolutely essential for me even at the current price.

From €12.99 to €29.99 - let’s hope MS don’t take any notes from NeoGAF :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Well. You do you.
For me GP is well worth it and would be worth it around that price. Every month I find two/three/four games that like which is more than enough to cover cost of subscription.

Well fair play to you if you have the time to play through 2 to 4 games a month (24 to 48 a year). Those are some pretty crazy numbers in my opinion.

voted above 30 but since I am subscribed to PS+ "not interested in GP" would be my second answer. Unavailability of PS5, and future first party games might change that

Not interested in GP.
Paying for not owning is bad
also GP is devaluing games.

That said, I was paying 1$ and finished 2 games over whole year... so it was still worth it ?

I’m fine with paying $1 for three months every so often.

Handing out $15 every month for a handful of new additions just doesn’t make sense.

You get in when there’s a large amount of new content, and then you get out. That is the way.

I hope they don’t make some kind of “Call of duty” pass or “activision blizzard” pass that costs extra or creates a new tier of gamepass

Depends on how many more studios/publishers they buy. If they stay at this amount I'd say around $25-30 once Xbox's first party starts churning out games and Activision is fully incorporated

I would rather buy my games traditionally and pay the full price. I hate things like subscriptions and losing access. I only bought GamePass because it was like $1 or $2, but honestly, I never made use of it when I did have it.

Yeah my steam list is full of games I bought for $5-$10 that I played for a couple of hours if that and never played again. My huge VHS collection got donated, my DVD collection gathers dust, I no longer even have a working Blu-ray player to play the small number of Blu-rays I purchased. Owning stuff is overrated.

The Gold conversion route coming out to $5/month was worth it to be locked in until Nov 2023 for me. Some months there’s nothing for me and some months are good. I generally don’t like being locked in to subs, preferring to jump in for a month or two here and there and catch up on content. When my sub ends I’ll consider the Gold conversion if it’s still valid or just pick a month occasionally at the base Game Pass level or use a promo. TBD.

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
think its to much for what offering right now. Might go PC only when my sub runs out in 2 years or maybe a fam plan.

Nothing more than I'm currently paying which is meant to be £10.99 a month. I'm even considering cancelling when my subscription runs out as there's not a ton on there that I want to play. I already own most of the games I wanted to play on there and I haven't played multiplayer for weeks.

I tried GP for a few months. I ended up playing two games: Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4; never cared about the rest and if I did I would've prefered them on my PS5. I'm way too methodical for something like GP: I like to play one game at a time, achieve 100% (or as much as my skill allows me to complete it), and THEN move on to another one. I don't like binging games or jumping from one to another because I never complete anything that way and it also prevents me from focusing on quality vs quantity.

I also dislike playing vanilla or "lite" versions of games (which is what you get on GP), I want the whole package at a discount and without my games being tied to a subscription.

Overall I don't want to support this model.

I recently paid £112 for three years of UGP.

It’s very good value for sure BUT I really don’t like the way it makes me feel about games.

1. I feel guilty about buying new games when there are about 500 games to play on Game Pass.

2. There’s such a thing as TOO much choice. I get analysis paralysis.

3. I feel like the games are somewhat cheapened when playing them on GP. They don’t feel special to me for some reason.

I’m actually tempted to bin my account and go back to gaming like I used to!

It's called the Paradox of Choice. It's a real thing.

Right now I think $20 a month, tops.

But if they get ABK and start pumping out good games from all these devs, I could go up to $25-30.
