Don't think that applies to Steam codes, only MS store codes.

Seriously, the future is fucking dire for physical.
Literally Schrodinger's catThis sucks. Even though it will be on Game Pass forever I need to own a physical copy of all BGS RPGs. It probably doesn't really matter. I feel the same way about Halo but who knows if my box contains and actual disc of Infinite since I've never opened it.
They will make money with storage expansion
But
That’s just needlessly silly. Now everyone’s going to do a long download just to play.
Why change what’s been working? Not everyone has high speed internet.
That doesn’t stop people from downloading for free or sharing the files online. For PC versions that is.The future is digital, with no way to trade, give away or sell your games. And they are not really yours either.
Well they would be, if they was physical. And they are not really yours either.
When I'll get an SX that's basically what I'll use it for. Just as a rentbox / game pass machine. At least Nintendo and Sony still care about providing physical discs/carts for their physical games.Rentbox Series X/S
weird? I get being pro-digital for its conveniences and the general pyric victory/defeat of discs often needing massive patches on day one, but why be anti-physical? What's in it for you to be against those who want boxed copies?Good. Kill physical already.
As soon as I have the same rights and privileges with my digital games as I have with physical ones, I will gladly do so. When there’s multiple storefronts that are allowed to have their own sales on console like there is on PC, I’ll happily go all digital.Stop buying plastic that ends up in our oceans. We don't need more plastic. What a fucking waste of resources.
I don't care about physical since I've been all digital for like 5 years but this is ridiculous, why isn't it $50 or $60 then, like Alan Wake 2?
Why yes, I would like to know more.
My wife wanted just dance on switch, the physical version was like 30% cheaper than on the eshop so I got that for her. She doesn't really care about physical vs digital but still was disappointed to open up the case and find a piece of paper "why would anyone do this?"If its just the box (code inside), fuck that. I've been caught a few awkward times by Switch games and it pisses me off.
If they meant a collectors edition, then they should have 2 models. Collector's edition with Digital and Physical version. That would suit, or maybe gaming overall needs to remove the game from the boxsets and let the purchaser make their choice.
That for collector's where MS did thet for some of there's as well as Blizzard and Take 2/R*.Isn't exactly a new practice... Didn't God Of War Ragnarok collectors edition ship diskless and a code instead?
I have no issues... Im not a fan of cases and clutter personally. (I get why some dislike though)
Yeah I missed that it was standard editions as well. FuckedThat for collector's where MS did thet for some of there's as well as Blizzard and Take 2/R*.
This is for the standard edition too, allegedly.
Disagree. Collectors don't even unseal the box so it doesn't matter what's inside. The point of physical is either to have for collection or be able to trade.
You can do neither with a code.
I dont see this ending well
I will never understand people who gleefully champion for fewer end user options and more corporate control over the products they purchase.Cannot wait for physical to be gone, if only so we don't have to have the same points laid out over and over.
Nah, just Phil doesn't want any more ammo for FTC to use.Tweet was deleted. Hopefully a mistake

And if it had a physical copy, you could buy it for $12 a year after release. It is $60 on Fanatical now. This is where I will be buying it

You buy physical on PC? where from my dude?TBH at this rate I'm likely going to sell my consoles and stick to PC, no way in giving console manufacturers this much control over my purchases.
