Wow that’s stupid. You’d think with a release of this caliber you’d wanna give people who collect physical versions what they want, especially when it’s $70 minimum. Maybe I’ll wait and see if they make a GOTY disc.

Games have to be fully installed whether disc or download, no difference in storage requirement.They will make money with storage expansion

I don't know about you but I'm not stupidly throwing game discs in the ocean.
If for some reason I can't sell a physical game for 5$ or give it to somebody who would appreciate it for free I'll just put it in the recycling bin like the shitload of plastic that comes from food containers. This is the worst excuse against physical ownership of games I've read.

If true, sucks. Still game pass for me but for people who want it, even a blank disc which downloads the game anyway would have been better than just a code.

If its just the box (code inside), fuck that. I've been caught a few awkward times by Switch games and it pisses me off.
If they meant a collectors edition, then they should have 2 models. Collector's edition with Digital and Physical version. That would suit, or maybe gaming overall needs to remove the game from the boxsets and let the purchaser make their choice.
