Phil Spencer wants to buy Nintendo: i honestly believe a good move for both companies

bender

What time is it?
Kind of an arrogant reply considering ms has had s huge share of the gaming market for 20 years, but ok. Your statement is akin to saying subway and Starbucks combined are dumb and crazy for wanting to expand because mcdonalds is the market leader.
Even Nintendo at some points would fall under your statement.

Honestly, if they have the cash, why wouldn't ms want to aquire some of the most talented game programmers in the world? They would actually be dumb not to.

Sad biased post really.

It's honestly never been so clear: they don't care about games or gamers, about consoles or creativity, they care about winning. If that means buying up every team - every player in the game - buying out the stadium, paying off the pundits and showering gifts on the crowd to keep them cheering, they'll do it. Doesn't matter what happens to the industry, so long as they can take home the trophy, they couldn't give a damn.

The crazy thing is, if you go on Twitter and look at all the "bigger" pages that post these pieces of news, there are still Xbox fans defending them

I just don't understand how people can look at Microsoft/Phil saying spewing this garbage and still say 'yeah this is great, only ponies are mad'. It's strange seeing literal adults brainwashed and praising Phil

There are the same dorks going to each tweet and commenting the same things calling them lies (straight up ignoring photos of the emails lol) saying "rent free in your head" as if that's a valid response

You can talk about acquisitions and Sony this, Sony that, but Microsoft is genuinely damaging and harmful for gaming

Watch the big outlets not report on this. This parasite and his goons are activly trying to destroy this industry and no one is talking about it.

Remember this line you see people post all the time:

”But Tencent, Amazon, Google are the bad guys, it’s better that MS acquire them instead”

It’s all in their plan. These people are nasty on so many levels.

There is no space for rational thought. They are members of a cult.

Come on, guys. This is nothing new for Microsoft. It's how they've been doing things since the 90s.

It's their old "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish" strategy.

The game industry is hardly a space for small players these days. Just look at this

Why do think a giant like Apple wants to enter head on at this industry? Because there is a lot of money to make here.

Of course, I'm not saying indies have no space at all. Actually, Independent developed and double-A games are where most of the innovation in this industry is. I just feel bad they have to fight against mega corporations that don't give a shit about their consumer to get some space.

It's that shitty 'Murican monopolistic company again...

Seriously guys, if this happenned, do you think the regulator would do the same as for Activision?

Would the FTC lose because of american corrupted justice again? Would the EU just unroll them the red carpet like the slaves they are to MS? Would the CMA be the only competent regulator to deny them this?

Nintendo would never agree and an acquisition this level would never get through regulators. He is 100% dreaming.

Interesting, MS will be playing the long game to acquire Nintendo. Grab some stock here and there, steer the conversation in the right direction among shareholders to get the BoD replaced. If Nintendo trips again with their upcoming next-gen hardware like they did with the WiiU & 3DS, they'll go in for the kill acquisition.

And this sort of shit is why Activision deal should have been blocked. MS won't stop unless regulators step in and compared to other gaming companies their warchest is unlimited.

What would be hilarious here if Japanese regulators decided to rescind Activision purchase approval due to this. Won't happen, but man, I would enjoy some quality popcorn time.

Joke aside I don't understand all the negativity. People here are quite biased. Of course MS want to be the leader, of course they want, if they can to acquire Nintendo. Sony wouldn't want that if they could afford it ? When they remove Final Fantasy from the opponent system it is fair ? The Silent Hill 2 remake ?

As all of you said MS is a trillionaire company, of course they wanna grow, they wanna be leaders... Sony acquired a lot of developers / publishers too (Insomniac, Bungie, etc) and it was all fine...

Not sure if Steve Jobs was any better though... Guy was a massive asshole, almost tanked his companies, was a terrible father and had no problem taking credit for other peoples work. And Steve's "vision of culture" was essentially not much different from Microsoft's, everything is a walled garden, the user has no rights other than to consume. So I dunno of he's the guy to quote when it comes to taste and culture for anything.

Yes Phil, the Sony acquisitions are totally on the same level.
