I haven't found this comparison yet.

I don't have any issues with the controls on mine, is there a few games to really notice the issues on I might have? Just fighting games like MK or KI?
You need to grab Ori 2 and check out the HDR! Just imagine how great that will look if/when Chaiki supports HDR streaming like Moonlight. There's way more HDR games on PS5 than PC I think too, or at least I feel it's more expected on console games than PC games.
Only had a short time with it so far but:
- Feels nice in the hands than the old one
- Screen is amazing, and a very nice size
- Batocera doesn't work yet
- Did manage to get Chaiki to work (kind of pain, but should be ok now that it's set up), works very, very well with the oled steam deck. Its not quite as "clear" due the lower resution vs the portal, but it's completely ruined me on the portal so far. When I switch back the the portal, which I love the controls, the size and sharpness, but when I move (say, look left or right) there is so much more smearing going on. I had to go back and forth a couple of times just to see if it was just me exaggerating and so far it doesn't seem to be the case. It was the one thing I was most complaining about on the portal (corrrcted, said steam deck by accident), so it's not a complete shock but when you switch directly between the two it's more obvious.
Also of course the black levels and contrast are also better on the steam deck, even though the portal screen is actuall quite good in terms of contrast and color.
Going to try and get some xbox local direct streaming going, had it working breifly and it seemed fast/responsive but the keys are mapped yet so I have some work to do.

So whilst a lot of games have HDR they aren’t all supported.
In example I can give is Baldurs Gate 3 and WRC 23 .
You can tell if it’s supported by checking the graphics menu and the quick access in steam deck has a blue HDR symbol by the brightness slider.

Well that fucking sucks.
Ori's particularly nice because it runs at 90fps and the HDR in it is like getting hit with a truck. Game blasts you with HDR like you would not believe, and at the same time it's really dark as well! So it's a perfect looking game for showcasing it really well and fast (I've seen people say the HDR on the OLED Deck looks better than their brand new TV haha).
Remember HDR is pretty new (it jiust came out with 3.5 ~1 week ago and most people don't have their OLED decks yet, including those who patch/fix things) - though it supported it on TV-Out before, this is the first time it's running on the Deck itself and yes - quite a few games handle HDR in WIndows by simply not presenting the option to turn HDR on if your Monitor is not running with HDR enabled in Windows already - things like that should I imagine get fixed relatively soon.
Plus many people will say quite a lot of games in HDR look pretty bad, like it's not setup right. At least if developers target the Deck's OLED screen in HDR support, there's only 1 of those, not 1000, so you should have a nice bar.
And yeah, while Diablo 4 for example supports HDR, it's only noticeable in a few elements like explosions, torches, etc, where Ori is constantly bombarding you with its great moody artwork and HDR. So it's just a great go-to to showcase it. And it all works by default, no option tweaking needed. People have also said RE3 Remake, and Tony Hawk, and a few other sports games I forget have really great HDR working right now. LEGO Star Wars also seems to be in the ok camp as well. There's definitely a good handful of options that should increase tenfold over the months, but I don't think anything hits as hard as Ori.

Hugely improved imo, then again I found the lcd one unplayable. Just installed Mortal Kombat to test the diagonals and was successful shooting Sub-Zero's ice ball (
) a perfect 10/10 times. Same for ice clone (
).They do rattle a little if you shake the Steam Deck and feel a bit loose but it honestly doesn't bother me or feels noticable when playing.

On chiaki, can have a look at any hdr game and see if the option reverts to sdr?Only had a short time with it so far but:

Yes. I did format mine anyway cause I was using it as "internal memory" on my 64gb Deck, didn't want all my previous tweaks to messed up with my new Deck.
I plan to use my SD card just for emulation now.

The amount of money I've spent on games just because of getting the new OLED.. I'm sure this is a gold mine for Valve. I generally buy more games than most, but I don't particularly enjoy things like platformers or JRPGs on my desktop. Also I wasn't so into indies. Suddenly with a deck I love them and become like twice as profitable as a customer. Life Time Value of pure gold..

A few thoughts about the OLED
-I love the etched screen. The reflections on my Ally are now ridiculously obvious. If there is anything lost with the OLED due to the screen then I would have to have this and the glossy version side by side to see it. As it is, I'm sending back the screen protector. Looks great.
-Love the look of the Limited Edition. Valve really did a good job on this. The orange accents are so cool.
-Steam UI is truly the best. Asus did a really nice job with Armoury Crate, but Steam really is the best. Glad Valve is working on Steam OS versions for other handhelds.
-Surprised how well Baldur's Gate 3 runs on this.

No, because some game saves and files are stored on the internal drive.
I’ve been trying to move all my emulators and rom saves from the LCD to the OLED and ran into some issues. Also had issues with swapping out the 512GB SSD with the 2TB. I will post more about this later.
But if you use emudeck, they have a tool now that makes it easier to transfer everything (roms,saves,bios,settings) from your old deck to the new one.
It all comes down to which games you want to play. The Ally is best if you mainly want to play AAA games, game pass games and don’t care about the battery life. But in all other departments the OLED deck is better.

Never even thought about getting one since I have a really nice PC already but last night after I was drunk and took a few Ambien, I got a little crazy and pulled the trigger, especially b/c the Limited Edition with the clear smoke case and the neon orange color scheme fucking DOES IT FOR ME. Anyway... PULLED THE TRIGGER. Couple questions.
1) Should I go for a 3rd party case? I usually go for Waterfield SF Bags cases b/c they are quality leather and made here right in the GOD DAMN USA! or is the one that comes with the higher priced Decks good enough?
2) Are there certain games that are must haves for the Steam Deck? I know the best part of the Deck is having the ability to customize games so you can get pretty much anything to run on it but are there games that are just made for this thing? Ones that look great and run 60-90fps easy? Games that would look insane in HDR on an OLED? I know Ori and the Will of the Wisp is probably one which I just ordered. How about Master Chief Collection? How does Infinite run on it? (campaign) How do I get Diablo 4 to run on it from Battlenet? Or is it not worth the headache and I should just order it from Steam? Do MMO's run on it well? FFXIV, New World, Lost Ark etc. I couldn't imagine running WoW with all of the addons. How does DOOM 2016 or Eternal run on it? OMG that would be insane, especially in HDR. Death Stranding, God of War, RDR2? Dark Souls 1/2/3/345/345/36/3, shit even Elden Ring!! Now that I'm going over all of these games I can't believe I didn't get one of these sooner. I always thought that a handheld this small wouldn't really be able to run these games good enough. I gues the thing that put me over the edge was getting my Switch with the OLED. I was so won over by the OLED on even a weak system like the switch and how damn good evertythihng looked, it was an easy decision for me to jump on the hype train with the Steam Deck especially at 1000 nits? (or did someone make that up?). Sounds crazy to me a handheld could do that with great battery life to boot. How about Callisto Protocol or Dead Space? Any good for the Deck? I wish Valve would team up with Blizzard/Activision so we can get those game pass games on the device without the extra hoops. It would be sick if they made it into an app or something. What kind of tricks are necessary to install Battlenet games or even Epic Game Store games? I have Alan Wake 2 and a bunch of others on there. I can go on and on but I guess my final question is, is the Steam Deck worth it?

I like the Waterfield magnetic case a lot, it's the one I use. I also use a ProCase (or something) shell w/ magnetic cover to protect the screen instead of a screen protector. I also like how the shell feels better, I'm used to it now since I used it on the LCD, and it's kinda like using a phone without a case. Just feels weirdly small. But that Waterfield magnetic case IS smaller than the normal Deck case, so that's another plus for it for me. Dunno about the liner case that comes in the 1TB edition, that may be smaller than Waterfield's, but you can't use that liner probably with the shell w/ cover on, so I still think the Waterfield one is better for me.
Diablo 4, honestly I'd just use the Steam version and not have to deal with installing Bnet. Doom 2016 and Eternal (which has HDR) but ran at 60 on the LCD deck, and probably with a bit of tweaking can run at 90 on the OLED I'd imagine. They run great though. And are good training to getting used to the trackpad which is superior to analog sticks for FPS accuracy, once you're acclimated. Honestly you're probably best off just searching youtube for the game you're wondering + Steam Deck. All the videos will be from the LCD version, which the OLED gets slightly better performance on. Pretty sure most of those games you listed all run great though.
And for anything that doesn't people swear by Moonlight, which will get HDR added soon, which will make the device something else for streaming, which already people claim works perfectly at 90fps. And the PS5 program will probably follow suit, Chaiki or whatever it is called. So with those two apps, you really can cover all your bases. Steam stuff like Alan Wake 2 at max from PC or whatever settings PS5 use, and natively play most other games.
General rule of thumb is it should run a ton better than the Switch version. So if the Switch version runs 30, this probably does 60 w/ better graphics too. And if the Switch version runs 60, then you got a good shot at 90. Most PS360 level games will run at 90 and see 10+ hour battery life.
It's a killer device, with the unrivaled HDR in its handheld space, which is really something else, wait until you see Ori in person, and that same HDR in brand new AAA games streaming, and the all-day (literally 12 hour or more battery life), combined with all the control options and everything else, the only real weakness is it can't do everything without streaming some stuff. But damn if it doesn't play 20 awesome other games for each one it can't, there's absolutely no shortage of games this thing can run. And it gets better and better every month.

I saw that transfer tool but it looked like a pain in the ass haha. I just took my 1TB SD card, plopped it in the OLED Deck, and re-ran the EmuDeck install (takes like 2 minutes) then started up Emulation Station from the shortcut icon it adds, and everything was there, just like before, all meta data + videos, etc.
And Steam reported all the games I installed on my SD card previously from the LCD Deck were instantly ready and shown as installed on the OLED deck.
It couldn't have been easier. Had all my emulation stuff, and 30 games all ready to go, just by moving the SD card from one Deck to the other, hardly any other steps needed.
Steam backs up everything to the cloud, so my games were instantly ready to pick up from where I left off too.

Popping my SD card from the old deck into the new deck just didn’t work for me for some reason so I had to use the transfer tool to get everything working. It really isn’t difficult to use, the transfer just takes awhile if you have a lot of games and data to transfer.

I still had to install EmuDeck, but the paths are the same so all my data was still there. I ran the shortcuts to add what I wanted to Steam, and had to download the theme I like in Emulation Station, but the games all came up and worked, so it was a lot faster than transferring through USB for me, though it is nice to have that as a fallback, which I probably would have done if it didn't work out.

Here are my impressions so far:
1. It’s been said 100x times but the OLED screen is beautiful, it’s a clear upgraded compared to the LCD lol but I think the update valve released to improve the colors for the LCD has really helped that screen a lot so there is a clear difference but it’s not as dramatic compared to the LCD screen before the update.
2. I’ve noticed a slight bump in performance for some emulator games even when they are locked at 60 fps on the OLED, games like NBA Street Vol 2 which I’ve played a lot on my LCD look and run better on the OLED.
3. The OLED is a lot lighter than the LCD, I was surprised by the difference because it’s only suppose to be 5% lighter but it’s noticeably lighter.
4. Swapping the SSD out is a bit harder on the OLED compared to the LCD because the OLED has a black ribbon cable that runs across the motherboard shield. So in order to get to the SSD you have to either remove more stuff or work your way around swapping the ssd with the black shield in the way.
I didn’t want to risk removing more than necessary so I did the swap without completely removing the black shield and it was a pain in the ass to do this because the black shield also blocks access to the battery so it was harder to disconnect the battery and do the ssd swap. When I did the ssd swap the first time I didn’t push the battery clip back in all the way so my steam deck was randomly powering off and wouldn’t turn on unless I plugged it into the charger. Did some troubleshooting and realized the issue was happening because the battery clip wasn’t pushed in all the way, again an easy over sight due to the black shield covering the battery connector.

1 - Now try a few HDR games, like Ori 2. The difference in screens really shines then, to me then it really feels like you're looking at visuals that the LCD model is simply incapable of conveying. Also I still have both devices so it's pretty apparent every time you're playing something dark on the LCD, the light bleed on the blacks or just the blacks being lit at all is much worse. Like this:
And that's post color update. Just the whole entire background/foreground not actually looking black on the LCD gives such a worse impression.

OLED 10 / 10 (Both will soon have HDR, support 90fps, and also can use WiFi 6 for better connections - everyone who's used these has stressed what a huge upgrade OLED Deck is for them, and actually running PC games at 800p, 90fps seems like a great way to get those 90fps on Ultra settings for a very long time haha)
Ally/Go 8 / 10 (No HDR or OLED, thus worse visuals, especially with HDR games - which is probably the main reason you'd want to use streaming - newer games that don't run native, could be 9/10 if gamepass was a big factor, for me its not though, but still won't have HDR so playing over PS5 streaming with HDR would be better on the Deck than over gamepass w/o it, and I'm actually not sure how well gamepass runs if you do go through all the trouble, and put on Windows maybe it is capable of HDR, but I'm just not interested in gamepass)
