GTA VI Official Trailer

I watched a clip of DSP and for the most part he strangely was on point. Until he basically said he is willing to bet Lucia is the only character, nothing like two protagonists here. I guess he didn't see the leak last year? Jason clearly is playable.

Maybe he didn't see the leak and then I guess I can't even blame him. As cool as the trailer is, they made it clear who the leader is of the two and that's OK, I have no issue with that. But if I didn't know any better I'd almost think Jason isn't really that relevant. On Twitter too I saw quite a few people complaining that the only protagonist is a woman, and they want to play as a dude too. Clearly not aware of two protagonists.

I bet that's the only reason some people are calling it woke. I don't count the lunatics that believe Lucia is Franklin, lmfao. But yeah, the trailer could have done a better job when it comes to the dude. I'm sure trailer 2 will.

Reverse groomer.
I had way more fun driving in V, but that's mainly because of the more wide-open nature of V. Going to IV right after, there is little opportunity to get up to max speed like you can in V, and good luck trying to maneuver significantly in IV once you are.
Plus it's still quite hard to maintain max speed in V thanks to all the traffic barreling at you.

I think those sorts of wide open areas wouldn't work as well with IV's driving physics since all that traffic requires instant response, which is something that IV's cars don't afford as well thanks to handling more weighty.

I still maintain IV had the better driving physics though. And shooting mechanics. And gameplay. And.... you get the point.

GOW won against RDR2 so who knows...
Don't get me wrong, I loved GOW and the game was a blast to play through but a technical and narrative masterpiece like RDR2 losing to it is still one of the most dumbfounding things I've seen on the game awards.
100% agree.

I still argue GoW won over RDR2 because GoW is "Badass Daddy Simulator" and it resonated with the demographic that votes for GOTY.

Me? I much more relate to single dude and existentially crisis-ed cowboy Arthur Morgan.

That’s because RDR2 is a slog to play. The story was great but the gameplay was poor as is the case with recent rockstar games.

Not really. both games had a strong story and it couldve gone either way. The overall goty awards were split down the middle with GOW winning roughly 55% of the awards while RDR2 cleaned up the rest. i wouldnt be surprised if the vote here was very close.

I picked RDR2 but i didnt mind seeing GOW take it. Gameplay in GOW felt fresh and new while RDR2 was bit of a slog to play.

Much has already been said about the relationship between Lucia and Jason, with numerous discussions circulating online. While many compare their dynamic to Bonnie and Clyde, anticipating a narrative shaped by social media and criminal exploits, my impression from the first trailer suggests a love story more reminiscent of "Out of Sight" than the frenetic energy of "Natural Born Killers."

For those unfamiliar with "Out of Sight," the film centers around a bank robber (George Clooney) and his partner evading US marshals, with an unexpected twist as the robber falls for one of the pursuing cops (Jennifer Lopez).

Although not an exact match, hear me out.

The trailer begins with Lucia talking to what seems to be her parole officer, likely discussing her release. Notably, official art shows her wearing an ankle monitor, commonly used for conditional release. Additionally, there's police footage resembling a drug raid captured from a body cam.

I posit that Lucia is released into the custody of Jason, a DEA agent, to assist in an undercover operation infiltrating the drug culture in Vice City. This, I believe, is the nuanced, mature love story that Rockstar aims to portray, akin to the complexity seen in a Red Dead-style narrative. It seems unlikely that Rockstar would opt for a simplistic love story between two gangsters.

What are your thoughts on this perspective?

Wait is it now woke if there’s a female lead? Rockstar has always had pretty diverse leads before it was an “in” thing.

Frankly it looks like gta 5 with a ton of Saints Row thrown in.

On a positive note: Story looks good and character not forced but legit.

Facts!

Look, I don't expect every single NPC in that game world to do their own unique thing, just look at RDR2. Some just walk around aimlessly and that's fine too, but plenty do have their own activity and I love it in that game. But I am super excited to just walk in this map and see what NPCs do, interact with them, I expect a evolved interaction feature from RDR2 here. Where will NPCs walk off to? Will some of them truly go back to their homes etc?

I am sure there will be limits too. Take the camp in RDR2 for example. If you just stand at the campfire I had many times that nobody would go sit down there. I then walked towards the horses a little, went back and all of a sudden the whole gang was at the campfire, so I definitely expect these kind of refreshes or resets here too.

"we gotta talk, GTA" yeah good luck with that. 😂

Talk about what ? Having face tats all the sudden means they stole your likeness ? The game character looks nothing like him.

Watched another analysis videos and they cover the bodycam part and started speculating if this might be through the eyes of Jason, so that would mean he's a cop. It would be fucking awesome, because that would be actually something new.

Wasn't there also a rumor years ago about Project Americas and that one protagonist would be a cop and the other the bad guy? It's all speculation and the bodycam part might just be something you watch on ingame TV.

I would be so down for that. And imagine if first person view was that awesome, it looks so damn good in that bodycam part. Some horror games play that way, but very likely not here.

And you're right, just a love story between two gangsters just sounds so basic, it really makes you think Rockstar wanted to do more with it and did. But there were rumors also that it would be a Bonnie and Clyde story. So who knows!

However, imagine if it does turn out he's a DEA agent and you get to kick down doors, enter apartments and either arrest or shoot drug dealers. It would be great, and it could be THE new thing for this game. Like how the three protagonists was the new thing in V.

While many compare their dynamic to Bonnie and Clyde, I think this is ONLY in relation to the narrative shaped by social media and criminal exploits (their notoriety like Bonnie and Clyde), my impression from the first trailer suggests a love story more reminiscent of "Out of Sight" than the frenetic energy of "Natural Born Killers."

Fuck. I was hoping he wouldn't see it. Guess GTA6 isn't gonna come out now. At least not without pay Florida Joke a heavy tithing.

I'm wondering how the story will go having someone like Lucia as a protagonist. She's got a very pretty face and a sexy body. Why would someone like her become a violent career criminal? She could coast through life just using her looks. I can see a woman like her getting involved in small petty crimes involving drugs or something, but robbing stores at gunpoint and carjacking people? Nope.

Beautiful women can be found in every echelon of society. Good chance of you finding model caliber woman working at some retail shop near you. I went to Brazil 10 years ago and quickly realized gorgeous women are not the rare commodity the media would have you to believe.

Oh I like this conspiracy. They make the leaks suggesting two characters, but in reality the only character is Lucia . 💥

He looks boring af my dude, even his voice is fucking boring.

I hope they are just focusing on her now and that we'll see more of his personality later. The feeling I got from the trailer though was that he might be retarded and needs her to get by in life.

Sometimes when writers can't write a good female character, they put her besides a weak man to make her seem strong. But that would be the opposite of what they did with Sadie in RDR2 so I don't think Rockstar will go that route.

An attractive woman working in retail isn't in the same universe as a solid 9 out of 10 becoming a violent career criminal.

I am surprised how excited gamers get over the trailer for a game that is 2+ years away. So much can change by then. They could give the main character the Abby treatment and make her more masculine. I hope not, as I would prefer to play a 3rd person game with how she looks now.
You failed at math, didn’t you?

hmm why it doesnt look that mindblowing for me.. i mean look at cb2077 open world

yea, its almost as if we are hype because we know it will be a working game with actual NPCs.

CP2077's open world might be one of the most lifeless AAA games I've seen in a long time, GTAVI has more going on in those 90 seconds....

Be like "cops can drive cars, ok pretty good....ok cops can chase you and shoot, sounding pretty good so far"

annnnnd that is already more fucking shit then what is going on with CP2077 lol

But shiiiiiit, that teleporting that cops was doing in CP2077 was "mindblowing" or?

This part here is way more I guess almost photo realistic than most other bits in the trailer. Especially her character model. Or is it just me?

The social media ingame videos seem to have that more realistic look to them. That being said, i hope we get to have some races here, racing through mud and what not. Certainly seems so.

Yes, the mud girl scene is the second most impressive scene in the trailer.

You forgot to call me an incel.

Tell me the crimes those women in that photo committed. Seriously, do it. Don't resort to personal insults and then hiding.

I hope you are trolling because I don't think I've ever seen someone simping this hard for real life criminals and a video game character.

Yep. I wish the whole game looked like this, goddamn. I'm guessing they are using some kind of filter for these social media clips ingame. But that doesn't explain the significantly more detailed character models. And yep, she even looks more real than Lucia and Jason do, agreed.

I think she looks pretty similar to lucia detail wise, but the animations, the mud on her, the filter... the whole scene look prerendered.

If you actually zoom on her and do a nerd analysis, she is probably not much better than ellie during cutscenes in tlou2, face details\digital acting are may actually be a bit inferior (but that is nd forte, also massive open world vs small game with like 10 characters main cast).

I can't believe we have now gone from "she's ugly/androgynous" and "she's literally Franklin after trans surgery" to now the other extreme of "She's too hot to be a criminal it isn't realistic."

What a thread so far.
Not to mention that you'll be able to edit her with makeup etc and probably even plastic surgery considering it's Miami.

Can't find the tweet myself but holy shit I hope it's true. It honestly should be in the game period. Imagine exploring that park and just annoying NPCs here and there. But also be able to use the rides? Yeah, doubt that though.
