The won't confirm it, but it has been more than a year since last time they announced a PC port. Are the rumors being taken as fact?
Because Sony hasn't confirmed anything at all about returning to complete exclusivity for single-player games.
The title is quite pretentious.
Maybe this new controller helps with compatability with games or something.
The thread isn't about Controller vs M&K, it's about Sony still promoting the Dualsense on PC despite a report that they are scaling back their PC porting of single player games.
Me and others are pointing out that there's nothing weird about that and the two things aren't really connected.
PC still has and will be getting tons of games with controller support, and Sony themselves will still release some of them.
There's literally no reason for Sony to no longer promote their controller on PC simply because they'll be releasing fewer ports of their single player games on PC.
Sony is still putting out GAAS games on PC
I love my Xbox One controller on PC. It was a nice upgrade from the Xbox 360 controllers I was using heavily and wearing out.
No thanks Sony.
Sony needs to focus on AAA games, I would rather have more exclusives on PS5, I look at PS6 and we're going to blame PS5 & SONY for focusing on PC. I think that will be PS5's flaw, it reminds me of Xbox One being fixated on TV, Kinect etc.
Sony needs aggressive exclusives to PS5 only, GT8 would be a great start, Ratchet and Clank 2, Spider-Man 4, Socom remastered, Horizon 3 would impress people, Uncharted 6 but you play as Nathan Drakes daughter, Little big planet 4, Blodeborne 2 etc.
Which you would never ( I hope ) find a GaaS player be using a controller?
Remember that these are still marketed under the PlayStation brand. Sony has their own PC gaming brand called INZone so I would reckon that the primary audience is still PS5 users.Yeah remember they announced a slew of those desktop focused shits and gotta find a way to sell. I doubt PC players would give a fuck tho.

You don't even have details about any of it yet so wtf do you know. Plus, it's obviously not aimed at you Mr. I bought an FPS gaming arm sleeve (L O fucking L) and think that the entry level gaming PC market should disappear.Shit product![]()
1. Not all GAAS titles (you know the titles that Sony are still going to be releasing) are twitchy competitive shooters. For example, I know quite a few people that play Helldivers 2 and not a single person uses MKB.You're at a disadvantage competitively.
Maybe Sony isn't cancelling the PC ports after all. They haven't made an official statement and we've only been hearing rumors and 3rd party reports. I'm going to take this to assume that they may very well continue with the PC ports until they say otherwise themselves.
There's still hope!
Or perhaps if people paid attention, it's not that Sony is cancelling all PC ports and it's that they are cancelling their single player ports. That still leaves their own GAAS titles, titles mandated like MLB (though I don't think MLB is on PC but something like Spider-Man/Wolverine could be mandated by Marvel for example), and just the fact that the controller is usable on pc games in general and therefore easy income.Perhaps they will push PS Cloud Streaming on PC harder. You'd need a controller for that.
Yeah, I don't think it even makes sense to announce the change. Announcing it only attracts negative press/feedback and just quietly not releasing anymore ports is much better IMO.And if they stopped releasing games for Pc, i don't think they would make a big announcement about it. They would just stop releasing them.
100%I agree. People are just finding things to complain and whine about. I play regular PC games with DS4 (in the past) or dualsense, they don't HAVE to be used for PS only games on PC as if there's some unwritten rule.
Cry me a riverRemember that these are still marketed under the PlayStation brand. Sony has their own PC gaming brand called INZone so I would reckon that the primary audience is still PS5 users.
That being said plans change, and sometimes they change too late and these products might have been under a different lane of thinking prior to this change.

2. I can go back and forth between mouse and controller in BF6 for example and not notice too awfully much of a change. I can still reliably be in the top 1/3 (as I get older I'll take it as I know it's not the BF3/4 days where I can consistently be in the top 3/4 players in my team or my MW2/BO days) on controller on PC. I see controller users in the top 5 players ALL THE TIME.
3. Personally, I can't even play stuff like COD or Halo on anything but controller. I actually bought Marathon on PS5 versus Steam because I preferred controller (well and it's easier to move my PS5 Pro back and forth from my desk and my TV then my PC).
You can say oh but it's because of the aim assist and yes but that aim assist is there to try to even things out because of the inherent disadvantages. My point is really just to say that there are tons of controller users in every FPS on PC outside of maybe stuff like ARMA and not all GAAS are even twitchy enough to say that you're even at a disadvantage in general.

How's all that try hard equipment working out for you? You feel better than all the peasants with 2060s? I'm sure you aren't being beat in CS by some Russian on a R9 290x.Cry me a river

Yes, people don't think.Wasn't it always PC ready? I've used it on iPad and a Mac.

The timing and language used is of more interest than that they will continue to sell controllers for PC. This does not strike me as the messaging of a company which has just undergone a Damascene conversion to viewing PC as a rival and existential threat. It feels more like a gentle pushing back against those rumours.
Being woke can make a bad game worse, but it can't make a great game bad. BG3 is a fantastic game, woke or not.Sony's PC games are always WOKE.
Interestingly, the most praised game by PC gamers is Baldur's Gate 3, which, ironically...

But you won't hear them mention that the Game of the Year winner is also WOKE.
The hate for Sony is worldwide on forums, dressed in a long gown of hypocrisy.
In terms of its public face, it's business as usual at Sony: it's not the one that reported on the cancellation of PlayStation games being ported to PC. However, on the same day it's reliably suggested single player first-party efforts won't appear elsewhere anymore, it's perhaps a little funny to see Sony advertise a new "PC ready" controller bundle.
In reality, this is just a normal black PS5 controller bundled with a USB cable to let you connect it to a computer.
However, select regional PlayStation social media accounts have started advertising it at a price of $74.99. It's a "simple set-up" and offers "unmissable immersion", according to the promotional material.
Of course, any PC game on Steam with controller support offers the ability to use the PS5 controller, so this bundle still has a functional use going forward. If you want to use a PS5 pad on PC, that option will still be available to you despite yesterday's news — you just won't get single player games like Saros or Marvel's Wolverine on the platform anymore.
What will continue to be ported over are Sony's live service efforts, such as Marathon and Fairgames. These titles need a healthy playerbase to stay afloat and bring success, so you'll continue to see them make the jump across to PC. Then, Helldivers 2 proves there's even an avenue to an Xbox Series X|S version for these Games as a Service, too.
It'll also be interesting to see how this decision affects Sony's push into the console and PC accessory market.
Throughout the PS5 generation, the company has released a large range of accessories for both the console and PC audience. There are the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers launching later this year, and also the FlexStrike wireless fight stick. Both accessories can be used on PS5 and PC.

After Cancelling Most PC Ports, Sony Promotes New 'PC Ready' Controller
It's a PS5 pad and a USB cablewww.pushsquare.com
I'm kind of curious as to what you mean here as aside from maybe running a sword, I don't see what build would really lend itself to controller. If anything, the top PVE players are all mouse and keyboard whereas in PVP land (which I avoid like the plague that it is), the aim assist is a much bigger deal and you see a lot more controller players.I preferred Destiny 2 on controller over Mouse and Keyboard. That is probably the only shooter like that but I like to play some strange builds in Destiny 2 and that game can have very different gameplay depending on your preferred style. It's also mostly PvE. It also has almost as much platforming as shooting. I would not suggest controller is better at platforming than mouse and keyboard but I certainly haven't found it to be worse. Even gambits felt better on controller after a time.
"Please care about our company, while our company shows it doesn't care about you"
Do yourself a favor if you're on PC and just buy an 8bitdo Ultimate 2 instead, it's cheaper than this Sony controller and it's x-input, so it'll work better as well.

Yes, clearly it's me that's salty by suggesting a different controller and not someone else in this conversation, imagine being this insecure about a plastic box.

... and I had several people outraged at me yesterday for suggesting Sony has been all over the place with their direction as of late.
