I'm laughing!!
Smug much?
I'm laughing!!
EULA are not the law. You can rent games legally, you can sell them legally and you can lend them legally. You aren't doing nothing illegal. EULA mean shit compared to the law. At least were I live.
At last:
http://www.t3.com/news/microsoft-hasnt-stolen-your-games-from-you-and-heres-why
When the games start raining down on Monday more people will come off the GAFF-o-Tron ventilator and have a seizure.
Money is here Microsoft. Take it.
A fool and his money...
You have to be online to download a game - the one hour timer is for offline play.So the 1 hour you have to play your account and games at someone else house, does that include the downloading of the game, or does it seamlessly/stream play the game for that 1 hour? Wonder what the size of the next gen game will be too.

You need to be connected to get to your games anyway. Why worry about the hour if you're already connected? So the 1 hour you have to play your account and games at someone else house, does that include the downloading of the game, or does it seamlessly/stream play the game for that 1 hour? This is me, money in hand, asking Microsoft to take it and give me the Xbox One.
Clear?
So as you seem to be in favour of this I gather that you don't care about lending and borrowing games and would always pay full price for new games?
How come then I can find you begging for free games in your post history?
It is sad when a JR here is the only one sounding reasonable. Thank you sir for not being part of the echo chamber that is NEOGAF. I love the XBOX and the PS I will buy both, and I will smile doing it!

Anyone who says that this is exactly like Steam please GTFO outta here.
#1. I can play Steam in offline mode for a long time as it doesn't have the BS of phoning home every 24 hours.
#2. Due to the PC platform all titles on Steam are backwards compatible which is something Microsoft has shown they don't do considering your XBLA games are not playable on the Xbox one.
#3. There is absolutely no reason to believe that there will be sales on Xbox live like there is on Steam. All of the Game On Demand games on Xbox Live as WAY over priced and almost never come down.
Hopefully the 360 has a good lifespan after the launch of the Xbone. I love my 360, but I have no desire to jump in to this next generation that Microsoft is peddling. The cost is too great, and the benefits seem minimal at best.
Yeah because anyone who disagrees is obviously part of an echo chamber, next you'll tell us about the mythical GAF hivemind.
Answer:It doesn't exist.
Are you calling the people in that thread beggars? Al of them? Is that the best you could come up with after trawling through my posts? Are you 10 years old?
Yes, you're right. It is sad when a JR here is the only one sounding reasonable. Thank you sir for not being part of the echo chamber that is NEOGAF. I love the XBOX and the PS I will buy both, and I will smile doing it!

I honestly think X1's greatest competition will not come from sony, but the 360.
Why on earth would you upgrade?
Especially when it's as arbitrary as this. Multiplayer dependent games are a different story, if the playerbase doesn't stay then it's irrelevant (case in point: the MLB 12 shut down that is apparently inconsequential due to no one actually being there), but this is an ENTIRE LIBRARY, and we could potentially lose a lot of truly great games as a result. The single most important distinction, IMO. I'm wary of buying digital titles that will only be playable on a single console generation.

What conflicting idea exactly are you bringing to the table? What grand discourse beyond: this new member is right, you're all being unreasonable? When people come in with conflicting ideas and they get shouted down or cast out by the majority. Ya i'll go ahead and call it as I see it. LOL

So again all of the disadvantages of Steam, none of the advantages.
Wasn't Modern Warfare 3 the eighth Call of Duty game? But yeah, I know what you mean.Well adoption is going to be super slow this time due to the insane amount of cross generation games. But eventually call of duty 8 won't be available on 360.
Poor crab

It was amusing at first, now I generally just try and stay away....but to each their own. Like I said i'll enjoy both my shiny new consoles and hope they both get fantastic games.
And just so you are aware its people "agreeing" that make an echo chamber, not disagreement, I'm assuming you know that but your comment read otherwise. I have nothing against MS haters personally. I just think the mentality has been taken a bit over-board. I hate my fair share of companies to, but doesn't mean I demonize them, and verbally abuse those who support them.
Anyway i've already wasted far more time on this thread/issue than I really care to so good luck bro.
No I'm not calling you all beggars. I have nothing against that thread, at all.
Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word "begging".
But I am calling you, personally, a hypocrite
Passive aggressive much?
I can get a PSN, XBL or Steam code from any number of places. I could post on boards, Facebook... What's your point?
I am calling you, personally, not very bright. At all.
Lol yeah there's none of that in this thread.

You mean conflicting wrong ideas like EULA?
And MS haters?. This is not about companies damn it!. Is about losing our rights that we have been enjoying from the last 30 years in gaming. The same fucking excuses over and over again. "Is just Sony fans hating MS!", "Is like Steam" and a large etc... that have been exposed with counterarguments and people still bring them to the table like broken machines.
Bendz care to try to debate me on this? Quit saying its like Steam cause its not.
Well you just called the entire thread an echo chamber, then signed off with a "good luck bro".
That won't convince anyone.
I'm perfectly fine with this if the price is right. I don't replay games or collect them. Give me Steam-like pricing on a console and I'd be very happy as I wouldn't have to hassle with selling games after beating them and I'd be spending about the same I do now after getting some cash back from selling games.
I own 300 some movies and I'm starting to hate that too since I so rarely watch something I own vs something new on/from Netflix.
So I'm personally ready for a move to services rather than buying products that end up just gathering dust or getting resold for me.
In an ideal world, non-drm discs would be available for collectors, and digital games would be available along side them at lower prices for those of us who just want to pay for the experience and don't want to own a physical copy.
Um, that wasn't me. Just saying.
It's not, but it's not far off...
Full disclosure, I play a lot of PC games and most of them are on my Steam account.
Best case scenario. You know that you are going to be offline for a while, so you make sure that you have all the games you need downloaded, patched and good to go. Some games still don't work offline, though the majority will for 30 days (last time I looked?).
Now let's say that I have played the hell out of a game and I want to lend it to you on Steam. I can't. I can gift you a game, but only if I haven't activated it.
Now I want to sell a game I own on Steam. Don't think you can do that.
Worst case scenario. Internet is down and I want to play a SteamWorks game offline. I might have the disk, can install it but.. can't play it.
In any case I can't rent a game and DRM means that there is no trade in value or second hand games market.
Um, that wasn't me. Just saying.
It's not, but it's not far off...
