A bit disappointed that they couldn't sub every line said during ultimates. It's like they began to, but realize it was too hard of a hack and stopped halfway :/
This is most obvious during Ichiro/Sakura's special. Don't sub the part when they talk before charging, but make sure to subtitle "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!".

That's awesome - I'm really kind of pumped by how much content is in the game. There are a few characters I wish would've been involved (for all the Darkstalkers reps we got, no Talbain? C'mon, Capcom. He's so much better than Hsien-Ko), but all in all it's pretty fun. Great for the bus ride to and from work.
I do kind of wish that they optionally brought back the active defense system from Namco x Capcom, though - it's kind of a shame that the only time you see enemies actually fight is when bosses and sub-bosses use their super moves.

Finally started playing it yesterday, right now in the last prologue I think. pretty fun. Can't wait to get more of the characters
After a short FFVII break I jumped back in an got dropped right into a battle with a 15 turn limit?! Strangely the limit wasn't an issue. What was an issue was me not knowing this wasn't a crazy long multi-stage battle in disguise! If I'd known bombing the last statue was gonna end the chapter I'da held out alil longer to collect the last 2 treasures. I hope they weren't nothing unique.
Next chapter had me thinking "the woglinde?" before they even mentioned it by name. Why do I still remember & recognize such a thing?! Grr! Ta make matter worse as if being Xenosaga wasn't enough, them two "Shining Force" members showed back up! I can't take this walking anime cliche called Toma as a SF leader >.> At least it was pretty easy thanks to Frank & Hsien-ko and Gemini & Erica getting multi-attacks! At long last some of my team finally has 'em again!
Is this games Dural a he or a she or a what? Someone decide this now! Just go with "It" darnit! On another note how comes Kos-mos is nyaa'ing??

Chapter 21's where I'm at now. I gots the segment then it turns into a kill all baddies mission except almost my whole party was knocked out by that point! Resetted instead of wasting more time before the inevitable game over.

Most units with the exception of Riemsianne and Ayame/Aya-me will just sit there, even as you pass them by. Expect the kouma demons and some of the other mooks to attack you, though.
Don't worry about it. You have seven units or so for this mission? Even if you take your sweet time killing off the Vajra that shows up and going to Aura, you should have time to spare when going to Aura. If you want "insurance," send KOS-MOS with another team just in case and place them near Aura. The additional unit may not be necessary but will help for the miniboss you meet on your way to Aura.

I fucked up Operation Crackdown too (Chapter 17?) because I didn't know the mission would end immediately. Although it was definitely weird how much unnecessary time was given, once I got to the last statue I was like "what? I have a few turns left..." but didn't bother to go up to Astaroth cause I thought I could go kill him after. FML.

Cyberspace in Chapter 20 is a Mega Man X4 reference. Cyberspace is the name of the stage where one of the Maverick bosses, Cyber Peacock, hangs out. Only Mega Man Legends, Mega Man X1, and Mega Man X4 are referenced in this game (through enemies, stages, etc.)
I read a topic in GameFAQs about "Delta Hidden Forbidden Sanctum." The original name is something like Holy Ground instead of Sanctum IIRC from the random .hack vids I watched (not a lot.) Here's a post that attempts to clarify and the topic link:
I think it's disappointing that this happened considering the translation team spent time with references for other series like even Resonance of Fate. And you probably already know about the team screwing up Gan Drive (it being named to Gun Drive here.) Pretty good on the whole, but that one is still disappointing.
MAP attacks help for Chapter 21. Akira hopefully has it alongside Chris, my Dante had the MAP attack too. good luck!

Downloaded this last night after spending an hour or so with the demos. Is it wrong that the main selling points for the game, for me, were the *ahem* "sprite work" and "animations?" I mean look at those gifs, how could you not want this game? I am also having fun looking up all of the characters i am unfamiliar with as they appear in the game, the OP has been great for this. Anyway its perfect for a sleepy saturday morning.

Had zero knowledge of what to expect from this game. Played the demo off of the eshop and now I need to buy this game. I need to understand more about the mechanics, but so far this has been a complete surprise in terms of what the game actually is.
Seeing the sprites for this game gave me a big smile, so lovely.

I got up to the chapter where you have to chase the yellow demons today and I got to saw, I didn't expect the chapters to start getting longer now. At the start of the game I got up to Ch.9 or 10 in like a day and now I'm finding that I can only advance like 1 to 3 chapters a day now.
Anyways, I do have two questions I wanted to ask here. The first being what is with Xiaomu and her spanking thing? I thought I was imagining it but now I see the dialog alot and it's on of the skills she and Reiji have is basically that. The second one is , does anyone know the name of the Intermission song? I can't seem to find it at all.

Chapter 22 killed me twice! Stupid slow androids with pitiful movement range! How long do buffs last? Just a turn or more?

Aww. Its been forever since I played X4 since I didn't recall going into cyberspace in a non-BN MM game.
Tokyopop gave us "Hidden Forbidden Sacred" and now this @_@; "Hidden Forbidden Sanctum" can actually be created in the games! I'll give 'em that much credit~
Dumb question prolly but is MAP short for multi-attack? Kinda confused by seeing like regular old baddies having as their only attack but rarely/never using it? Maybe its just a case of their normal hit-only-one unit attack not being named?

MAP is just something I repeat by habit, having read other people refer to multi-attacks that way. Not entirely sure if it means anything besides just attacking more than one person on that map.
Yes, MAP attacks are multi-attacks. I should stick to using multi, no one seems to say MAP and it'll only use confusion. For regular mooks or low level enemies, most all of them have single-target attacks. I recall like a couple of enemies that weren't bosses but had attacks that hit more than one unit, these are rare though. Only bosses have attacks that are named, multiple or single-target.
They're so straight. This applies to Ryu, Chris, Jill, too. They're like no fun, unfortunately. Even Ichiro is funny even if he doesn't intend to be.

Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised by the reception this game has gotten in the west.
The game certainly has it's issues, but I thought it would just get absolutely hammered on these points. Thankfully most people seem to be focusing on the positive.
A good sign for the state of the JRPG in North America. I certainly feel like this year has seen them back on the upswing.

I wanna play the Shining Force game she's from.
And a Sakura Wars game. And Resonance of Fate. And a God Eater game. And Tales of Vesperia.
I actually love their attacks, they're strong, and super easy to crit with. Don't like their designs, especially Toma, but meh, they slay in battle.
I know that feeling. Literally went out and bought Sakura Wars: So Long My Love, Gods Eater Burst and .hack last week, and I suspect that won't be the end of this little problem.
Chris and Jill are funnier actually.

Nemesis, both of them get annoyed by him constantly yelling "S.T.A.R.S!" Chris says that's getting old and they work for the BSAA now. Nemesis: B.. S.. AA!!
Don't know which chapter, but I loved the Mario Kart joke made by Xiaomu btw.

Well, I did kinda make it longer on myself by taking out Juri, Dural, and Alisa, instead of ignoring them and just going for Phantom. Also made sure to get all the treasure chests, so that added a few turns too.
But 90 minutes?
Yeah, you haven't seen anything yet and I'm only on chapter 26 or 27.

Just finished up Chapter 25! Loving the recent additions of Bruno & Ulala! I don't get the mockery of Leanne via the statue of her, its so mean!! Ichigo & Sakura getting a powerup via the story was not the kinda thing I was expecting ta see in a game like this. Gotta say I'm pleasently surprised stage hazards haven't been introduced. Thought they'd be the next step after Turn limits but they're a no show an thank goodness for that cause they sucked in FE: Awakening!

I don't know, I usually just lead one team to attack the boss and to land as many special attacks as possible while having another team fight the regular enemies to raise the experience bar and keep the small fry from doing random damage.
Oh yeah and so far, I suck at using Ichiro / Sakura, their attacks just keep launching the enemy too high so I always screw up the cross hits. No matter how many times I use them, I just can't land the attacks right, same goes for
Yuri / Estellise and sometimes Zephyr / Leanne.
