The Xbox Summit event in Japan has revealed a strong list of titles for the Xbox 360 in the territory, with 40 games being shown off including a large number from Japanese developers as well as key overseas titles.

The list confirms that many major franchises which are important in the Japanese market are on the way to the Xbox 360, including Konami's Winning Eleven series, Banpresto's Super Robot Wars and Bandai's Mobile Suit Gundam.

Although a large number of the titles shown have been announced in some form or another before, the full list demonstrates an impressive level of commitment to the new platform from Japanese publishers.

Among those who have announced titles are key publishers such as Namco, Konami, Marvelous, Capcom, Bandai, From Software and Hudson Soft, joining western publishers with Japanese offices such as Activision, Electronic Arts and Eidos.

"Japan is one of the most important video game markets in the world," enthused Xbox VP Peter Moore, "and is a key pillar of our global strategy for Xbox 360. Our deep commitment to the Japanese market is evident in the exciting and unprecedented alliances we've forged with Japan's most talented and beloved game developers."

"Their new Xbox 360 titles will show the Japanese community and beyond that we are committed to defining the next generation of interactive entertainment," he concluded.

Microsoft has also reaffirmed its commitment to launching the Xbox 360 in all three major territories before the end of the year at the summit, scotching rumours that the Japanese launch could be pushed back to 2006.

Whoops, didn't see the roundup thread. Seems this article doesn't include anything new. Mods?

I know we have the list already, but shouldn't an article whose title is "Microsoft reveals 40 title line-up for Xbox 360 in Japan', actually list the 40 titles? ;)
