Ask me about my fanboy energy!
Although I disagree with the AI on CBBE body type. BHUNP/UUNP >>>> CBBE.

This doesn't even exist in text form yet though, why does voice make it possible?AI voice is one of the most exciting things to happen in games to me. Once the tech is there it will allow some small shops like mine to VO all NPC's and more importantly allow a lot more variety of dynamic, responsive content. My dream is to create a game narrative that is fully responsive to the user's choices, resulting in totally different branching scenarios that continually grow in divergence. The only way for that to really work from the dev side is AI generated content, and VO content is high on the list of "not there yet, but its getting close!".
I made a thread about this a while back. I've been waiting for this to take off for quite some time.AI voice is one of the most exciting things to happen in games to me. It's scary what's possibleOkay, if people do things like this with less parody things in mind ... information could become even LESS reliable on the web.

What is even real anymore?
I think we've already reached the point where nothing online can be considered 100% reliable. There's literally no digital media that can't be convincingly falsified.Okay, if people do things like this with less parody things in mind ... information could become even LESS reliable on the web.

Oh yeah, I mean that's all fair. I totally believe voice acting costs influence the amount of writing in games, so being able to create endless amounts of it will definitely be a positive when it comes to dialog. Its just one piece of the bigger picture. But even without all the other AI generated stuff, we still can EASILY out-write our voice over budget by a factor of 1000. That leaves three choices in the current industry:
1. Cut down the amount of content in the game to fit your VO budget/time
2. Have some unvoiced NPCs/create a disjointed experience.
3. Have only like 2 VO artist end up voicing 85% of the NPC/characters in the game
Most dev's choose option 1, or a mix of the two. AI voice overs (that reach a point where they sound 90% good) will allow for massively more content generation when it comes to dialogue in the game.
You can already use it. Written by human, voiced by AI.Was this written then voiced/read by the AI or both written and also spoken by the AI? Was it the same AI or did one write it and another speak it? Which one(s) was it? It's so natural sounding, so like Todd, pauses, intonation, scoffs even. Man we have come a long way.
Exactly. You could make, say, a live action video of the President shooting a kid by placing his face on the 'actor's' face, and then you can speak with the president's voice to incriminate him even further.I think we've already reached the point where nothing online can be considered 100% reliable. My hope is that the eventual spread, understanding, and acceptance of this fact brings about the crash of digital news and social media manipulation.
When we all finally realize that it can't be trusted, we might just learn to ignore it.
Hopefully MS will find some ways to avoid delays like starfield has faced for elder scrolls 6. Makes no sense that a game have to take that long to develop.
