Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

What's the best mode to get specialist weapon kills? Trying to unlock gold with Battery. Use to be able to do it in TDM, but I'm not as good as I once was.

Ground war, especially safeguard. Longer matches, more enemies. Less waste.

Safeguard is especially nice, because teams tend to move in more predictable patterns.

Thanks. Will try that out.

Edit: Thanks for the tip. Ran into some bad luck and kept getting Domination, but manged to pull it off in dom. The helmet challenge was a cake walk in comparison. Mange to get that in 2 safeguard games. lol

2XP this weekend.

Also, got to use the MX Garand today, I really really want it. Fuck these supply drops. If IW gets confirmed to have Supply Drops on any forms I won't be buying it.

I got a 144hz monitor recently and decided to try out Black Ops III. I have a 970 and it's pretty much unplayable now. The framerate drops from +110 down to 50 constantly. I've tried to roll back to older drivers (back to the march drivers, which was when I last played the game) but that didn't help. I've tried different settings but it's still the same. Has there been an update in the last couple of months that has been known to cause performance issues?

Something seems massively off with this game this week, every time I have played groundwar the lobbies have been sweaty as hell, lots of try hards everywhere in every lobby.

Not very enjoyable to just jump on for a few casual games.

Every single game I've played this last week has been full of parties. Multiple times I've seen 6 player parties. Those lobbies empty fast, no one, especially myself, wants to play against a full party.

Unfortunately the Mercenary Moshpit is empty.

Haven't played for a while so can't say if my performance has degraded but last time I played the game was smooth as butter. I changed to a 144hz screen myself a while back and recall it being a pain in the ass to get blops 3 to run at 144hz. You've probably set it up right but just incase, make sure in Nvidia control panel's 3d settings you set preferred refresh rate to highest available and switch V-sync off ingame and to off in the Nvidia CP.

[Edit] just been playing for an hour and all is nice and smooth for me.

[Edit 2] Damn I'm glad I haven't bought any more of the DLC on PC because the EU DLC playlist is a fucking ghost town with a sexy player count of 0%. Makes me wonder what's gonna happen when Infinite Warfare/MW Remaster comes out and fragments the somewhat small PC playerbase.

What settings?

I'm on an i7-4790k and a 980 Ti and I managed a consistent 80fps~ or so with all settings max.

Hey guys, In case you didn't hear. The Descent Dynamic Theme apparently has unique music now. Some said you may need to redownload it.

I still haven't figured out what causes the frame drop and stuttering, but turning off V-sync in Nvidia Control Panel and lowering the FOV helped a bit. It's gotta be something with my rig that's changed the last couple of months. Something I've downloaded or played around with. It's weird though, because BO3 is the only game where this happens.

New Specialist weapon is a beast. Purifier and a Ripper combined.

I want to see gameplay of the Projectile Vomit gobblegum, it sounds hilarious.

I played a fair bit again at the end of last week, infact on the day I responded to your post and I must say towards the end of my 2 or so hour session I began experiencing random slowdowns which I havent had before. My missus has had an ongoing problem where her game simply pauses for a while after she has played for an hour or so, as if its a choke of some kind. Her rig is almost identical to mine save for the fact that I have an SSD which the game is installed on and she has an older mechanical HDD which could in her case be the cause. One theory of mine is that it could be something with the network drivers or its settings causing it as Blops 3 seems a bit sensitive to that sort of thing but I could ofcourse be way off.

Had fun with an hour of MP play with the new maps - the Empire map feels a lot like the auction Uncharted 4 map, a bit too open for my tastes but a visual treat and seems like a lot of good sniper alleys. Liked the sports map a bit more although that one feels a lot like the construction map from Eclipse. Did not like the cryochamber map at all, the middle area was awesome but it felt like it was non stop flank-and-kill-from-behind. Loved the snow/tibet map though, felt small and tight enough to be fast paced. All in all I'd say the previous DLC maps were a bit superior.

New zombie mode is the same for me, I feel like I'm way too far behind to ever understand what the hell is going on in it, but I enjoy watching the day one streams where people are trying to figure out the easter eggs.

The lag for the ps4, for me anyway, has been absolutely brutal. Enemies are warping around the map. On top of that there are times when I move there is a delay, then all of a sudden a second later all the movements I did will just go right in a row so I will move left, right, straight and then I will look left or whatever.

The new maps are decent at least.

I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday (from Win 7) and the stuttering and the frame drops are gone. I can now play on high/highest settings with good frame rate again, although I play on medium now, to get 144 fps.

XBone gets those weird lag trips at times too. Like, everything is fine, going full speed, then suddenly, even though no one is lagging according to the connection, the game starts having random delays. I thought it was my system but plenty of other people I've played with see it from time to time as well.

Oh boy, the last two challenges I was bothered about and took me ages to get, merciless killer (50) and double glitch kills to unlock the hero armour challenges I got in one game.

Now got the master killer challenge set done. Feels good.

Looks like the new game mode "Fracture" just came out. It's like Kill Confirmed, except you have to take the tags to a drop off zone that moves around the map, kind of like hardpoint. If you die you drop all the tags you had collected. Score limit is 60 which seems really low. I will try it later tonight when I get home.

That's neat, basically Headhunter from Halo Reach (always wished they brought that back).

Going to have to try it out after work tomorrow morning.

Glitch head piece hero armour challenge done.

Thank fuck I hate that ability and now never have to use it again, the one ability I could never get on with.

Having alot of fun with Fractured. Feels like KC + CTF + Hardpoint mash up. Not winning very many matches...but enjoying it, nonetheless.

Yeah it seems bigger as well and that's not just map size it's the walls etc seem higher too.

It's a grand map, one of the best, but that's no surprise as raid was a great map.

I wish we could get Grind, that map was amazing.
