Cyberpunk 2077 game director Gabe Amatangelo has confirmed that the studio isn’t planning any more big updates for the title.

While CD Projekt Red is still expected to address some issues with the game via minor updates, it now plans to switch its attention to other projects, including the game’s sequel.

2.0 and Phantom Liberty are the last big updates

Amatangelo told PC Gamer.

We’ll do a little something more, but those are the last big ones. Then it’s Cyberpunk 2. Or ‘Orion,’ I should say, whatever we end up naming it.

He added:

It's a pity this is also the last time of the Red Engine, but at this point I think it would be more difficult to implement next gen features on that than using UE5.

That is the usual modus operandi for EA. If a game isn't a huge success right out of the gate, they abandon it soon enough.
