Doom Mod Lets Players Pet and Befriend the Cacodemon

Doom is not exactly known for its non-aggressive action, but this add-on makes it possible to become friends with one of the game's enemies.

Over on ModDB, as spotted by Rock Paper Shotgun, a user who goes by Wine_Toilet has uploaded an add-on simply called "FRENDOCACO." This mod essentially makes it possible for Doom players to befriend one of the game's demons, the Cacodemon. A tweet even shows a brief clip of it in action in which the Doomslayer pets one of them, inducing a bunch of hearts to float around the enemy. The Cacodemon then turns to some attacking Imps and begins to fire back at them, and the former enemy basically turns into a companion.

As it is, once the power of Doom's graphics has worn off (they're amazing, so give that at least a week or two), you’lI be longing for something new in this game.

lf only you could talk to these creatures, then perhaps you could try and make friends with them, form alliances... Now, that would be interesting.
