Well, I for one am looking forward to this. I really loved the format of Friday the 13th, it's just so sad that it went the way it did. It's just nice to see a solid looking Evil Dead game that celebrates the universe. Here's to hoping it's a good/great experience.

Really curious about how that Texas Chainsaw game is gonna end up.

I've been craving a replacement for F13 so hopefully this fits the bill. I was hoping predator would have worked but the community killed that one with their bitching.

Man, right? I really enjoyed Predator the first few weeks, joined the forums, and what a shit show that was. Had anything positive to say? You were an ass kissing dev. It was insane, lol. Everything felt better when I left that forum and just stopped playing the game. I've often thought about revisiting once they add all the content, but man, I really don't know. That community is such a damn cesspool.

Here's to hoping the potential community built from this is NOTHING like that, lmao.

What about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game? Same devs. Is this like Friday the 13th? Might keep an eye on it.

This. What is it wiith devs keep pumping out this shit using utterly classic films

They need to fucking stop.
I mean, we've seen some pretty solid film related games over the recent years IMO. Are they perfect? No, unfortunately. But good god could they have been much worse. I'd at least wait until it's out to shit on it, lmao.

Yeah, Gun is developing it. Hoping for the best!

The games already been out, a million times over :messenger_tears_of_joy:

This isnt going to be something we havent seen before i'm affraid.
Well, as unfortunate as that may be, welcome to modern gaming my friend, lmao. Where games are hardly innovative and creative, and instead just blatantly borrow from one another.

But hey, the Evil Dead skin alone is new. Also, while the open wooded area resembles F13 it by no means is exactly like it. People just see big open wooded area and automatically make an association. But this appears to be players vs player(s) & AI. We still don't really know much about the enemy side of things, but they'll apparently be dropping a deep dive gameplay video about that soon.

Didn’t they say there was going to be a single player mode ?
I don't think that was ever the case, but I could be wrong.

I agree but I thought it would work well with Evil Dead.
Or simply they come up their own gameplay style instead of trying to be another poor man’s FROM game.

My own personal policy is I dont play other "Souls-like" games from other devs, unless FROM stops making games.
Don't get me wrong I like Soul games from From but I wish they did something different.

For me they dont release their games that often like Call of Duty that I would get tired of them and Sekiro might share some elements from their pervious games but it also plays completely different.

Sekiro is FROM's take on action game instead of RPG like other Souls games.

Yeah, appears to be an EGS exclusive, maybe just timed? :pie_eyeroll:
God damn I hate Tim and the devs/pubs that take his deals. What a wormy little shit.

Game looks great, lots of fanservice for Evil Dead fans, but the game type...eh....

I'm with the others that want a PVE Evil Dead game with lots of quips and gore.

We deserved more than a Friday the 13th reskin that nobody will be playing in a week. Such a shame.

Texas Chainsaw is supposedly the Friday reskin (which the developer kind of had to settle for changing since Friday is a goddamned rights mess and we were lucky enough to get that game for the window it was in.) It'll be interesting to see what wrinkles they are able to add to the formula or if it really is a Friday reskin... which I'd not look forward to myself since Chainsaw is a pretty different execution of horror from the true-to-formula Friday the 13th. You had an idea from the very beginning how Friday would work, with the Jason player, armed with rusty weapons and unceasing stamina, slowly stalking players as they hid and ran for their lives with few ways to defend themselves. There's like 11 of those movies and every one of them could be summed up as "Naive teens get slaughtered one by one by an unrelenting killer"... in space, that one time, but otherwise, same same. Chainsaw isn't that. I guess you could just substitute Leatherface and have him just be a big hulking killer in the woods (of Texas, this time,) but then again... I mean, element of surprise for one thing is gone, it's right there in the name, he's hunting with a freaking chainsaw...

As far as Evil Dead, it's weird that we don't know what the heck this game is, right? It looked to me like a L4D clone, and the official game description does seem to still support that, as well as the 4 characters being in close proximity rather than spread across the map and the description of looting as well as both Co-Op and PVP play. (However, they only recently added single-player, so they could still have it as Versus mode clone but it seems weird that offline is an afterthought when it's a game that requires some AI opponents one way or another? Maybe that's overthinking it.) Here's the game bio:

EVIL DEAD: THE GAME IS THE ULTIMATE MULTIPLAYER EXPERIENCE... AND IT'S GROOVY!

Step into the shoes of Ash Williams or his friends from the iconic Evil Dead franchise and work together in a game loaded with over-the-top co-op and PVP multiplayer action! Play as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, managing your fear, and finding key items to seal the breach between worlds in a game inspired by all three original Evil Dead films as well as the STARZ original Ash vs Evil Dead television series.

ICONIC CHARACTERS

Play as characters from throughout the Evil Dead universe, including Ash, Scotty, Lord Arthur, Kelly Maxwell, Pablo Simon Bolivar, and more, with new dialogue performed by Bruce Campbell and others!

PLAY AS GOOD OR EVIL…

Fight for the forces of good or take control of the powerful Kandarian Demon to hunt Ash and other players while possessing Deadites, the environment, and even the survivors themselves as you seek to swallow their souls!

OVER THE TOP VISUALS

Whether you’re tearing a Deadite in two with Ash's famous chainsaw hand or flying through the map as the Kandarian Demon in spirit form, the game captures the look and feel of the Evil Dead franchise in all its glory, with realistic visuals and a physics-based gore system that brings the horror to life!

THIS... IS MY BOOMSTICK

Brandish your short barrel shotgun, chainsaw, cleavers and more to do some delightfully gruesome violence against the armies of darkness.
Evil Dead: The Game features multiplayer co-op and PvP for PC, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

Imagine a Souls game but it's Evil Dead 😳
Honestly, this is a dream. I've played all the Evil Dead games besides the Commodore 64 one.

I'm supporting this game one for the love of Evil Dead along for the hopes they realize that there is enough interest to merit a standalone campaign game, with a solid story and jolly co-op.

The fact they got Bruce back on to do all the voice acting along with a good amount of the original voice actors just makes it feel more of a solid project.

I bought the collectors edition yesterday. The reason most of the games in the past (Hail to the King, Fist Full of Boomstick, & Regeneration) weren't well received is because Evil Dead was still obscure then.

As for the people comparing it to Friday the 13th The Game, I looked at that game as a low budget to start off with. It was a Kickstarter funded game. Evil Dead The Game since it was first announced read like a passion project due to the original creators being involved.
