I haven't played Kirby since the gameboy games. I bought the last Kirby game for my kids. I was engrossed watching them play. The levels are charming with so many genuinely funny transformations. The ending of the game is beyond hype. I didn't think Kirby could be so good. I am happy that the franchise is having such a resurgence.

True, though at the time it was going against the pretty hyped Final Fantasy Type-0 which launched with almost half a million sold on freaking PSP.

Not really, PS4's comparative year (2015) sold 1.21 million so PS5's 1.15 million sold in 2022 was only 60k less. The numbers only look "apocalyptic" because 2023's numbers are so much higher.

The Octopath II debut is a bit disappointing. JRPGs in Japan just aren't the strong seller they used to be. I think the game will do really, really well in the west, though. The game is *fantastic*.

Example, if growth is 90% and then drops to 40%, that's still 40% growth over the predecessor, but that's a 50% reduction and that questions stability in the long.

It's selling faster than those 2 without a single heavy hitter being released dude. And with stuff like Final Fantasy XVI, Spider-Man 2, the new PS5 sku and a price decrease coming, that gap will keep getting bigger, not smaller.

I played it years ago on the Wii. The main game is incredibly easy, to the point that it’s boring. You unlock harder levels after completing the game and that’s where the fun is. It’s just a slog to get there.
