What's fun? The first time I played a Paladin and I can't see it getting any better then wielding Casomyr. Now I'm thinking thieves are always cool, and the power and variety of a mage would be welcome. Finally, how is it playing as a simple warrior?

Honestly, though, I have a lot of fun playing Sorcs. I like playing melee classes only for the cool shit I can end up wielding, but that's about it. Monks are different though, I just like smashing shit to pieces.

Mages. Mages, mages, mages. I always pick Mage classes when I play an RPG and have a choice.

I really enjoyed playing as a Wild Mage since I liked the crazy crap that could happen with my spells.

At first I was going to cite the Paladin as per the Biggest Sword rule (see KOTD, but acquiring all of the pantaloons really changes things around!

Paladin Monk and Thief all are very enjoyable melee classes

the only Mage type class that I enjoy playing in D&D games is Bard :b
