GTA: The Trilogy PS4|OT| We heard you like strippers so we stripped the soundtracks

Will grab vice city whenever I finish my current games. As long as Slayer 'Reign in Blood' and Flock of Seagulls is still there I can recreate my memories from PS2

The removed tracks are bad all round but the worst is by far Billie Jean from VC. It's the first track you hear on your first drive through town. Kind of a staple moment.

If people want them and can afford them, why wouldn't they buy them now?

It's about value, isn't it?

I could afford these games if they were £100 each, doesn't mean I'm willing to pay that much for them.

I want to replay them, but I can wait a few months for them to drop in price, it's not like they're blockbuster new titles which I've been waiting in anticipation for.

Galactic Fork

A little fluff between the ears never did any harm...
Man, I was excited when I saw the $14.99 price... That is until "Each" was added. On the bright side, I probably won't be affected by the soundtrack stripping if I ever do buy it, I always tune to the talk stations in the game. They help me better immerse myself into the GTA world.

Sure, but that doesn't necessarily make them a poor value for others.

I'll personally pay $15 to own vice city, particularly because I don't have any options to play it other than my PS4.

Played the first two mission of Vice City last night before bed, yes it looks like a PS2 game but my god I love this game. Can't wait to complete it and move onto San Andreas.

Only negative for me is the controls. But I'll just have to adjust and get use to them. Also may try some cheats on a separate save to see if it disables trophies.
The moment when you realize that the rc plane mission is like 6 missions in. You don't know pain unless you were ten and playing that shit on the ps2. Talk about throwing my controller around.

FUCK that bike chase in the first OG Loc mission on SA

Controls/Camera are way too shit for it

Crap. This was my initial concern when they announced the re-release. Stripping tracks. It's the same feeling I had when tracks were removed from Crazy Taxi.

I may need to get this, not that I need more games to play. But it'd be great to play GTA III and Vice City -- the GOAT -- again.

Tracks removed
VC:
· Kate Bush -"Wow"

Noooo!!!

That song was my favourite, I'd always park up on the beach and listen to that song whenever it came on the radio.

I remember when they "patched" the PC version of SA and removed those songs. Luckly you could put them back in if you put the work it but it was ducking disgusting. Removing content from your game this long after it comes out should be illegal, but it's RockStar.

Can anyone confirm if the cheats disable Trophies?
It seems like in Vice City you can still earn trophies with cheats. Meanwhile trophies are disabled with cheats in San Andreas. Not sure about 3, sorry.

Also I apologize everyone, I believe OP got the San Andreas list off of me which I found on a site. I wasn't 100% sure on every song that was taken so when I found that one I assumed it was correct. That's my fault and I should've done more research. I apologize and I hope I didn't alter anyone's decision to purchase this with wrong info.

I was feeling tempted to buy these, but I just spent a little time to hook up the OG Xbox and play GTA III, VC, and SA that way with their improved performance, enhanced visuals, and intact musical form. Shit holds up well. Funny enough, your post got me to dig further through the pile and I found Crazy Taxi 3 to find that game has the original arcade/DC music tracks as well as the old set of drivers, cars, and levels...I forgot about that game basically having all the previous ones, too. There's definitely something to be said for hanging on to old stuff.

I must have been 11 or 12 and that mission was a pain in the ass. I swear it took me a whole night to do it and I was so angry. Now I just completed it first time with 3 minutes left. Although I still found the controls annoying af.

forget the soundtracks the $15 price and not being able to play retail games in the ps4 the sad thing about all of this ps2 games on ps4 is that i have to go back and play a 10yr + old game to get all the great features of a gta game functioning casino, all the side jobs and a great compelling story that focuses on one main character

damn gaming hasnt progressed worth a shit since the 6th gen

That mission is super easy on the iPad controls for some reason.

I pushed that mission aside for so long, I had my cousin beat it lol! After beating the game 11 times you get used to the controls. I prefer them over the new ones

I made that mission my bitch on ipad. Finished it my first try.

The RC Plane mission was bugged in the original release, the fuel went down constantly rather than just when you used the throttle. They fixed it in the later versions.

Not the billie jean tho.

That was the theme song used for when i rampage on the dirt bike, wheelying down that entire long ass boulevard pulling drive bys on everyone in site.

This might be the wrong place to ask, but how are the Steam versions for VC and SA looking now? Do they both have widescreen support? And do they natively support an xbox 360 controller? (I'm reading conflicting information and still seeing new mods being released to add that in)

I nearly bought Vice City to play through again, happy someone mentioned the music stripping, I'm not ok with losing Billie Jean.

I got the same problem with audio clicks while pausing. Seems to only happen if I'm on a vehicle, so I guess it's linked to radio streaming somehow.

Sure can :)

I disabled the trails filter in VC and GTA3

Also what's up with those vertical lines all over the picture? It seems like some columns of the frame buffer is repeated instead of showing the actual line. You can most clearly see it on the power lines overhead and CJ's right arm. Was that on the PS2 too?
