Do already released titles like Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, Returnal, and upcoming titles like R&C, come into this list of 25 or they're not taken into account?
Morales, Demon's Souls and Returnal aren't included in this list because they already were developed. This is a list of 1st and 2nd party games under development, so unreleased games to be published by Sony like Ratchet, Horizon 2, GoWR, GT7, etc.
Do you
really believe they can push out AAA-titles in that quantity on the market? That's what first-party video game releases are about: Quality over quantity and volume - I can't understand what you're supposed to be excited about.
Herman Hulst said this list include big and
SMALL games from several genres. He also said almost the half of them are new IPs. In the past he also said it includes single player and multiplayer games, and that some of them are more traditional as Uncharted, GT7, Sackboy or GoT can be, and other ones are more experimental as they did with Dreams, Death Stranding or Returnal.
All of them are probably third person no white male.
Kratos is a white male. And Sony published a ton of first person games. Unlike Microsoft or Nintendo they publish VR games and next year or so they will publish PSVR2, so some of these games will be first person.
25 titles is a really low number for both Sony owned studios and collabs - and it gets much worse when you take into account that they have to support PSVR2 as well.
Who care if it's 20 or 30? What matters mostly is the quality of the games.
Before this news we were expecting to have between 30 and 35 titles actively in development by PlayStation Studios.
Now we are getting 25ish.
Less games = bad.
That's the logic.
Hermen Hulst said they are developing
MORE THAN 25 games. Not "25 games", not 25ish, ot 20: over 25. And these are only the games under development. They must have more already greenlighted/signed but planned to be developed once the dev team that currently is busy with other stuff completes their job so they can start developing another game.
In 5 years Sony released
Dreams - a game engine
Concrete Genie - an artsy indie game
Spiderman - Superhero open world game
God of War - a melee action game with RPG elements
Gran Turismo Sport - a sim racing game
Astrobot - a cutesy platformer
Ghost of Tsushima - open world samurai game
Last of Us 2 - A linear zombie action game with stealth elements
MLB - a baseball game
Returnal - A roguelike game
Detroit - a QTE game
Lots of variety their, some games are melee action, some games shooters, some games open world, some games linear etc. But I guess because some games share the same viewpoint and have a cinematic story they are considered the same lol.
Sony also published games like Death Stranding, several casual games for Playlink and many PSVR games of different genres.
They are the big publisher with a more diverse portfolio by far. Specially out of the 3 console platform holders.
