The leftovers of Nomura is what saved the game. Tabata and Co didn't do nothing except butcher the story and lie.
From what we saw of Versus, it didn't look like there was much of it in XV tbh.
The leftovers of Nomura is what saved the game. Tabata and Co didn't do nothing except butcher the story and lie.
I'd like the next Final Fantasy to have decent gameplay so keep Tabata the fuck away from it.These dudes came in and saved this goddamn game. Give him FF16.
Oh, and keep Nomura the fuck away from it lol
Didn't do nothing? FFS.The leftovers of Nomura is what saved the game. Tabata and Co didn't do nothing except butcher the story and lie.
If KH3 comes out next year and feels finished then it's probably a better situation than FFXVDidn't do nothing? FFS.
How about they actually made the game based on concept from someone else whose two next big projects are a laughing joke among the gaming community?
Some of the salty Versus fans in this thread really make me realize how poisonous the fanbase is at its core.
Type-0 had potential but too many playable characters and a bad story.

Sure. Can't look into the future.Nomura fans in a nutshell.
FFXV had a start and an ending but felt unfinished. You can have content you planned but couldn't get in on time while still feeling like a complete project which isn't how FFXV turned outAhh yes, the "feel" test.
FFXV 'felt' finished and would have likely been called so if the developers didn't opt to go for such a strong post-launch support for it. Adding more content to it will always make the game feel unfinished. If KH3 comes out next year and feels finished then it's probably a better situation than FFXV
No doubt Nomura has a major issue but all his games feel polished, complete, and fun by release. So with Nomura you either get that or vapor ware. I'd be surprised if VII remake or KH3 comes out a broken mess under Nomura's control. Chances are higher that the games don't come out at all or get passed to someone elseNomura fans in a nutshell.

Things Tabata accomplished since taking over FFXV and BD2. (2013-2017)Nomura fans in a nutshell.
Yasue is on KH3 so that game is safe. Yasue is highly qualified for directing his own KH game. I have full faith in him hence I am more confident in KH3 but if we talk about FFVII: Remake. No doubt Nomura has a major issue but all his games feel polished, complete, and fun by release. KH3 had a longer development cycle than FFXV so it better be finished. Although I am personally going to enjoy all the tears when the game starts to get season pass with DLC content once the launch draws near
And yet the KH remasters and the aqua demo are better than everything tabata put out. sad.Things Tabata accomplished since taking over FFXV and BD2. (2013-2017)
* Released Episode Duscae in 2015 with Type-0 and then later Platinum Demo. Both separate from main game.
* Released a remaster for FF Type-0 HD in collaboration with Hexa Drive.
* Completed work on their own flagship internal game engine: Luminous Engine.
* Released Kingsglaive: FFXV CG movie prequel.
* Released Brotherhood: FFXV anime tie-in.
* Released Final Fantasy XV after two month delay. Released Two Story DLCs for it. Released monthly content updates for the game, often featuring free DLC.
* Started work on their own new IP within BD2 utilizing cutting edge next gen tech from Luminous Engine.
* Worked on a highly competent port of FFXV for PC with mod support, next generation visuals and features.
* Worked on a FFXV standalone expansion for PSVR.
* Worked on FFXV: Pocket Edition. A full story game from FFXV for mobile.
* Released two mobile games based on FFXV universe.
* Released a tech demo based on 'Witch' concept utilizing cutting edge next generation tech from their Luminous Engine.
Things Nomura accomplished since leaving FFXV (2013-2017)
* Took charge of FFVII: Remake as director. Still TBA despite original announcement in 2015.
* Re-released Kingdom Hearts remasters for PS4.
* Released Kingdom Hearts DDD remaster and tried to expand the game lore with a nonsense cinematic movie (Unchained).
* Released a short demo for KH3 featuring Aqua.
* Confirmed Kingdom Hearts 3 is out in 2018. Didn't confirm any release date. Game was announced in 2013 with FFXV.
* Dropped CyberConnect 2 as co-developer for FFVII: Remake. Is the game even coming before 2019?
Which one of these two has accomplished more within these 4 years?
Yasue is on KH3 so that game is safe. Yasue is highly qualified for directing his own KH game. I have full faith in him hence I am more confident in KH3 but if we talk about FFVII: Remake.
I heard he is free these days.
In case you forgot about it.FFXV felt unfinished before the post release content was promised.
Also not sure if KH3 has a longer dev cycle.
FFXV started development quite a bit before the e3 2013 reveal while KH3 had just started.
Francis Ford Cappolla can still release his Godfather Duology on Blu-ray fully remastered in 4K today, and it will be better than any movie released in 2017. The original 2 Kingdom Hearts being well received doesn't mean shit today. And yet the KH remasters and the aqua demo are better than everything tabata put out. sad.

Both were misleading pre rendered footage. KH3 was "now in development" while FFXV had some in game footage to show even if it was super roughIn case you forgot about it.
The original E3 reveal was all pre-rendered implying they barely had any content to show for it.
To add to it, it is pretty much safe to say that whatever work Nomura had done with XV after E3 2013 was likely scrapped. This is easily seen if you go back and watch the E3 2013 and 2014 trailers.
Better fleshed out than XV's was.
The post was about the work done by both directors. Not the quality of it.Omg lol this post. Wow he released a demo, and a movie that has received massive criticism and has a 13% on Rotten. I'm not even going to bother reading the rest.
And you say that "salty Versus fans" are toxic, but I would say someone like you, who acts like a blind cheerleader towards this game, is more toxic than people who are rightly angry towards this game. Tabata could release a 20 minute CGI movie of Noctis and the bros dressed in Tutus, dancing in Lestallum and you'd be defending the hell out of it.
There is no downplaying here. My 'list' wasn't even about quality of both, rather the output from them. Both were misleading pre rendered footage. KH3 was "now in development" while FFXV had some in game footage to show even if it was super rough
As for the Tabata list wars post, don't think a terrible CG movie is much of an accomplishment.
A tech demo and a year late PC port isn't too much to write home about either.
Downplaying the KH remasters and the KH3 demo vs the Type 0 remaster and FFXV demo also doesn't make much sense.
Ito and Matsuno were directors on FFXII starting in 2000 and that was in development hell too with several delays and obviously the Matsuno's department mid-development. For Japan they first announced Fiscal Year 2003 release, then a Summer 2004 release, then Winter 2004, then Spring 2005 and lastly Spring 2006 (announced at The Square Enix Party 2005 - similar to FFXV's Uncovered event last year, basically).I thoroughly enjoyed FFXV and hope Tabata moves on to a new IP, after cranking out an Ardyn/Luna DLC.
At this point, it's too late for them to be aggressive on iterating on XV like PS1-era FFs. They should reinvent the wheel with someone who has a clear vision and a record of no projects in development hell. Someone like Ito, and definitely not someone like Nomura or Toriyama.
You do know that that score you keep referring go is a score for all three products included in 2.8 right? Not for the Aqua demo alone? The post was about the work done by both directors. Not the quality of it.
Do you claim that Nomura released a better cinematic movie with his unchained crap in 2.8 Remaster? Did he make a better game with Aqua story with 76 meta score?
P.S Advent Children from Nomura is rotten at 33 score and Spirits Within sits at rotten with 44 score so it is not like any other FF movie has done better.
There is no downplaying here. My 'list' wasn't even about quality of both, rather the output from them.
If you think Aqua's story is great with its critical reception while Type-0 is terrible, then it doesn't make any sense. Your own opinion might be different but critically they aren't that far apart.

No offense, but him wanting to do a new IP, and hin being able to do a new IP are two very different things. So the certainly in the OP is hella misplaced.
That said, I hope he gets his wishes.
No shit? The only reason I keep calling it Aqua demo is because it is the only worthwhile product in the collection. You have a terrible cinematic cutscene along with a handheld remaster of the lowest rated KH game. DDD standalone at launch was sitting at 75.You do know that that score you keep referring go is a score for all three products included in 2.8 right? Not for the Aqua demo alone?
You know PR talk. He can't outright spill the beans yet, but it's very obvious what he's trying to say. Everytime he talks about their new project he mentions two things together, namely that it's a new IP and that he wants to do something that's not FF. It's not hard to piece together what he's hinting at.No offense, but him wanting to do a new IP, and hin being able to do a new IP are two very different things. So a Luna dlc is still on the cards?
Which is still much better than the remastered PS4 version of Type-0, let alone the original PSP version lol. And if you wanna talk about what people think then just take a look at those user review scores. Tabata can shit out anything he wants but chances are it won't be better than other Square Enix games if Type-0 and FFXV are anything to go by.No shit? Aqua's story is a short hour or so long demo. Like Episode Duscae. The post was about the work done by both directors. Not the quality of it.

I'm curious what kind of combat style would that be. casting real magic with her staff?
I feel magic/staff combat can work well with the "hold the button" system much better than melee. Dragon's Dogma does that iirc with high level magic.
I'll laugh if there's combat period. Because according to Kingsglaive, she can't use magic! Even tho she's seen using magic with and without her trident in the game, which takes place in the same time period.I'll laugh if she pulls a rapier out of her ass.
Tabata > Nomura
*until FF7:R comes out.
😏
Until KH3 next year.
I'll laugh if she pulls a rapier out of her ass.
Nah ff7:R will be the nomura breaking point. He changed too much and it's no longer "my ff7" as fans will say. Bookmark it!!Tabata > Nomura
*until FF7:R comes out.
😏
Only if it gets a 10 point higher meta than FFXV. Otherwise, does it really matter?
🙄
Oh yeah totally, but I'm also sure I read in a couple of places that SE actually wanted him to do FFXVI, and after the success if XV, I can't help but think him being made to do another Ff game is a distinct possibility. But I agree 👍You know PR talk. He can't outright spill the beans yet, but it's very obvious what he's trying to say.
