Of course it's about strategy! I think I win 2 out of each 3 matches I play with my friends... And I'm not that lucky.

Either way, it's the best board game ever.

... Now, back to the VN. Can all of them be my waifus?

Six waifus?

You can die in this? Does some psycho pigeon doctor kill you?

IIRC there was only one way to die in the act 1 beta,
if you messed up all the routes and ended up with nobody, you and Kenji spent the festival on a roof, get drunk, and you fall off and die.

I get drunk and fall off a roof
. I seem to fail at whooing women even in-game. Maybe its telling me something. =[

That's actually impressive, getting the "failed to get on a route" Bad End three times... I meanz unless you royally screw up at the very least you're able to get on Rin's path.

Conspiracy bros

The should've made a route where you told him you were a woman.

I'm morbidly fascinated by how one of the girls is supposed to have mild Down's syndrome. How on earth are they depicting that?

If Misha has a disability its not revealed in Act 1, so unless you've seen it discribed in game please don't post anything. If you have seen it in game use spoilers.

So: the website's down. How many people worked on this title? Are there profiles or anything of the staffers?

So you never ever want stories told or art made portraying disabled people.

Wow, that is an intense strawman.

Also, why exactly is it a bad thing for somebody to find a disabled person sexually desirable?

It's not, but there's a huge difference between finding disabled people potentially attractive just like other people and sexually fetishizing the disabilities specifically. (Wikipedia has a probably overlong article on it that touches on some of the problematic areas.)

I think it's worth diving into the actual content rather than judging the work solely on the premise, but universal dismissal of the idea that anything could be wrong with sexualized depictions of disability is definitely not right.

I can appreciate that but doesn't your friend feel exploited? Doesn't he feel weird being reminded that people with his condition are seen as fetish targets? Or that they can be added to a game in order to drum up hype that otherwise wouldn't be there if the characters were "normal"?

Much like any work with problematic (but not straight-up bigoted) depictions of a minority group, some people are going to find that they identify with the characters and portrayal and the problem stuff doesn't bother them, while others are going to get set off by stuff that triggers their personal alarms or reminds them of crap they'd rather not deal with.

Heh, and I was thinking that this stuff was dropped long ago, good stuff that they finally finished it.

Small question, If I recall correctly the doujin (or part of it) that inspired this stuff was made by the same character designer of Varlkyria Chronicles. Am I correct?

Yea, googled that earlier in the day :)

Why don't she has a own route? :/

She did have her own side story written out, with a scenario and everything but they scrubbed it out in the end.

I've been following this game since 2009, and am good friends with the developers, so it's very nice to see a thread for the game here too. Enjoy your crippled waifus everyone.

Also: Lilly > Rin = Shizune > Hanako = Emi

I've basically been posting around on various forums I go to that, as someone who was diagnosed with being black at birth and have been black since birth, Porn is one of the more offensive things I've seen in my life.

It doesn't change the fact that porn uses black people as a selling point.

I -- and other black people, at least the ones I've talked too -- just want to be treated like anyone else. We don't really want to feel special or different. Some people want to stand out. I feel like most black folks want to blend in more than anything.

I feel maybe porn's objective and its audience, and actually its mere existence, are completely contradictory. I feel that despite porn's best intentions, it's only going to serve as fuel for the same sort of people I'm speaking out against. And again, the simple fact that people are becoming interested in porn simply because they see black people significantly bothers me. It's less about porn's content and more the message that its existence sends.

I'm offended by the people who want to watch porn for the black people and that there is yet another thing for these people to channel their fetishes towards

You want to be treated like normal people? Normal people get fetishes directed at them. Asians, blacks, whites, disabled, handicapped, short, tall, albino, anorexic, morbidly obese, etc.
Welcome to the normal person club! Each and every one of us is a fetish for someone else on earth.
Unless you dont want to be in the normal club with us, and want a SUPER SPECIAL club where no porn can be made of you, but then you'd be not normal, separate, different, isolated, etc.
Isn't that what you're trying to get away from?

Whenever I think of VNs, I think of body pillows.

Whenever I think of body pillows, I doubt the reality of my existence.

Not too keen on the face or the hair color tbh. I think the design would look a lot better if he were older and had a bit of facial hair. Maybe sharper features around the face. And a cigarette.... hmmm....
Did you just describe Solid Snake?

I was trying very hard not to do this earlier.

I can understand where he is coming from.

An artist drew these characters, all five crippled someway, and it went from 2ch to 4chan. The idea of starting development in this game was likely a novelty. Instead of making it a daft smut filled romp, the creators and various workers crafted a story and script that gives personality and depth to these characters. I don't think these would have put this much attention into the game if they didn't care about crafting a nice story surrounding these girls. Seriously though, for a "doujin" game this is pretty damn high quality.

It's something around 30 if the credits are anything to go by.

They do give thanks to a lot of other people but didn't pay attention.

This is the first time I "play" a visual novel. Not sure if that's correct but I spent way more time on this than I originally thought I would. I think I might check out other VN's of the sort.
