Media Create Sales: Week 24, 2011 (June 13 - June 19)

Even Namco Bandai is expecting 400k.
400k for the most expensive Tales yet isn't that great, especially when Graces and Vesperia each did 500-600k combining all versions. Of course they could also port Xillia to 360 or Wii U in 2012 to reach parity with those overall I guess.

I don't see a year late 360 port doing anything like 100-200k.

I think it should be noted that "most expensive Tales" refers to... how much it costs at retail lol. When you consider that, I don't see how selling a little less is unusual, since it makes more per unit sale. :p

Budget-wise, ToX looks pretty damn crappy. Probably the cheapest HD Tales yet.

This sounds good. If it sells, namco will get the idea that all they need to do is make crappy looking and cheap to make tales games to rake in the money

They can always do a Tales of Xilia director's cut for the PS3 one year later and get another 200k in sales.

There will be two releases for ToX, for sure. They've done two releases for almost every mainline Tales entry in the last 10 years outside Legendia.

Yeah well too bad it was on the DS.
I'm sure the release window didn't help, nor the fact there was a pointless CG edition that barely anyone wanted.

I recently asked Tales Studio about a bunch of stuff, but a few Qs weren't answered, 1.) about the re-registered Tales of Innocence in the US, 2.) Tales of Graces Wii in the US/EU, 3.) is Sword of Legendia still alive. The reason for not answering? 'To keep some surprises for fans.'

EDIT: *ahem*

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition - 279,951
Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (PlayStation 3 The Best) - 42,700
Resident Evil 5 (PS3) - 520,564
Resident Evil 5 (360) - 123,817

Total: 967,032 as of the end of 2010

Japan has most likely gotten its second HD million seller. Congratulations. This also marks/would mark the 5th RE game to pass 1 million in Japan, after RE1/2/3/4. Depending on how well Revival Selection sells, maybe CODE: Veronica can finally pass 1 million too.

MGS4 will belated join the club as well by the end of the year, I reckon.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

What do you guys think about MH 3rd HD ?

More than MH G Wii first week, which was like 130k ?
It will sell way more than MHG. 2nd PS3 Mio Seller after FF13 incoming....

If MH3 can barely break 1 million copies, which was a brand new MH game at the time, then i dont think that MHP3HD will be able to do break 1 million copies.

Sure, MHP3 is the most popular MH game so far, and it does have savegame tranfering between the PS3 and PSP, but it is still the same game as on the PSP. Will 1 million people be that interested in just seeing the game with some better graphics? Personally i dont think so. Maybe around 500k tops, but i will be very surprised if it gets close to 1 million.

Btw, are the controls redefined in MHP3HD so that you can use the 2nd analog stick?

Well for the Wii version the controls already relied on the second analog stick because they packed the CC pro with it. So I'd imagine MH3HD would have similar controls to the Wii version.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but then I thought maybe I was overselling its potential?

Big time. MHP3HD performance should be closer to MHG Wii than MHTri IMO. What were MHG's 1st week and LTD numbers by the way?

I would be very, very surprised if Xillia doesn't break 400k pretty handily. It's the first Tales HD game built specifically for the PS3 and it seems to be getting some decent advertising in terms of the PS3 X Edition tie in, the anime cross overs and the TV and print media ads. Namco is certainly making sure that Xillia is very visible and we know that the fanbase is pretty loyal to the franchise.

And "ugly" as an attribute can be quite subjective. I don't think Xillia tops Vesperia (from the limited amount of media I've seen) but it isn't hurting my eyes either. It's still quite colorful and retains that Tales "look" so I don't think the fans are going to be disappointed outside of a few malcontents in messageboard land.

MHG Wii was one of many MH rereleases while MHP3HD is the first rerelease of MHP3. It's also the first Monster Hunter in HD to boot.

It's going to outsell MHG Wii by far.

It will be very interesting to see if that part matters to the audience. Afaik there is no single case yet where a later Tales game managed to outsell the first Tales game on the specific home console (that only happened on DS and PSP so far, maybe also on GBA).

Curious about Zelda Ocarina 2nd week sales.

And Sports Resorts on top 10, new Wii bundle bump hardware sales.

If the new bundle does not pack in a disc of Wii Sports Resorts......

(And bundle usually does not count into software number in Japan)

Edit: I was wrong, thanks for correction Chris.

Mmh, I wonder how Zelda has sold... I guess it's in the 50k range, I don't think Steins;gate could top over 70k... Good for Atelier, lolicon seems to be appreciated by Japanese gamers.
