If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
About the New Love+ Dealy

Smart decision - it will profit from the way bigger userbase by than and won't have be sandwiched between MK 7 and Tri G.

If I were Level 5 I would also try to delay IE Go. But that probably not an option for them.

No, IE Go is needed for 3DS Holiday.
And Holiday is the perfect place for a game dedicated to the younger audience.
It will have also the movie as booster for its second week.

However, I would like to talk about Namco Bandai.
For Japan, the "Bamco" times seem so distant now...
In fact, in a row, they obtained to do

1) A main SRT on the right console, with almost 400k sold, and it's the first part (so, there will be the second part, and other money will be gained!)
2) The best result for a Tales of spin-off, with Radiant Mythology 3
3) Some 100k worthy Gundam spin-offs
4) Being since the launch on 3DS, with various content and good results (Ridge Racers 3D and Tales of the Abyss almost 100k, and One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP which not only outsold both the originals, but it could do 200k or even near the total of the originals combined)
5) Selling good games with good content...on the Wii.
Family Fishing could approach 100k in the end of the year, which is a lot for a fishing simulator, and Go Vacation is outselling with a very fast pace Family Ski and Family Ski & Snowboard, the precedent games of the team
6) But above all, they predicted that PS3 would have been the perfect place for their software.
Macross with the Movie bundle
Ace Combat
Idolmaster 2 doing 80k in two weeks
THE RETURN OF THE TALES BRAND TO 600k, numbers that looked like being only sweet past memories
And now they'll bring to PS3 Gundam Vs. and one of the most commercial and reasonable operations seen in the recent history: One Piece Pirate Warriors.

What surprise me is how they're selling good on basically every platform, even Wii, and also their fast pace in releasing game.
And now, they're even doing "risky" operations, bringing back some older brands, such as the SRT spin off Masou Kishin on PSP, and the Compatible Heroes saga, with an action on PSP and a dungeon crawler on 3DS.
They changed their approach a lot in the last two years.
With very good results in Japan

You don't think lining the game up with Valentines day will do anything for its sales or public exposure? Or that maybe someone who buys MHTriG may also want to purchase Love Plus but may not do so day 1 or anytime soon if both are released right next to each other? I think there are plenty of ways this delay could end up being good for the game even just from a promotional standpoint.

Edit: How come I didn't quote the cussing? Stealth edit eh? Also how is what I said so shocking or unrealistic? It makes sense.
In retrospect, I thought my cussing was OTT, so I removed it :)
Releasing on Valentine's Day is the absolute worst idea, because the whole point of the game is to build up a relationship with this girl and then ask her out. How are people going to be able to do that in time for Valentine's Day if the game comes out then? There's already been a lot of complaining on 2ch about this.

Bandai-Namco is the smartest third party hands down. They haven't got many mega sellers but their choices have lead to most of their franchises selling quite well on every platform in Japan. The only thing thats holding them back is like I said mega sellers that guarantee a good safety net for them, not just in Japan but on a worldwide basis. I guess this reason alone is enough for them to have changed their game so much and reap the benefits as a result. Looking into next-gen they should try to outshine everyone on the get-go to breed their own mega sellers, easier said than done, but the start of the gen is the best time to try such a feat, costs are low and the potential is high, of course the drawback is the difficulty involving new hardware, and the creativity involved. I wish them luck, they're the most deserving of all third parties in my opinion.

Chris' comment has shattered my hopes of 150k+ for second week. :/

Or releasing on Valentine's day is the absolute best idea all the sad lonely otaku feeling miserable they don't have a real girl for Valentine's day will go out and buy it, the only ones complaining now must just be absolutely desperate

The monster hunter and vita predictions are heavily dependant on stock levels

I seriously can't believe people are predicting sub-100k for this game. This is almost as insane as those sub-50k Uncharted predictions, maybe even more so considering so many people are doing it.

Well, I'll repost the second weeks for both Galaxies.

[WII] Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo) - 78.349 / 334.690
[WII] Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo) - 116.153 / 453.722

It should be in line with the other 3D Marios as drop in the second week, so 80-85k, but it could have done even 100k, if Over My Dead Body has sold more than 100k.
However, surprising the high placement for Peace Walker HD, seeing how it started on first day.
And above all... Sengoku Basara 3 Wii outselling Pokepark 2. :lol

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.
Anything on the Wii that's not Zelda is basically just filler at this point.

No, I think that Famitsu numbers showed first shipments of excess of 500k.
Must be following a 3D Mario type of sales curve.

Geat numbers overall also.

It's kiiind of an open question what NSMB or NSMB Wii would've been doing in their second and third weeks if they'd launched to only a fourth of the userbases they had.
