NexusMods is reportedly removing any Starfield mods that seek to remove pronouns​

Many in the community have been claiming over the past few days that NexusMods was removing all Starfield mods attempting to remove pronouns from the game. At the time of writing, there's no official confirmation.

Other X (previously Twitter) posts discussing the matter soon popped up. One user even shared a reported message from NexusMods regarding the situation, though there's no visible indication that it is an official reply.







A feedback thread on the NexusMods website also had a staff member claiming that the banning of mods that remove pronouns from the game is “allegedly not happening”:



However, a webmaster of Nexus Mods made it clear their stance on mod banning, even if they didn’t address the matter directly:

The idea that someone is so offended by the game basically asking "would you like to be called he or she?" during character creation that they need to mod it out is fucking absurd. and you don't even need to engage with it, by default if you choose a male body is says "he" and if you chose the female body it says "she".

meh. nexus has never claimed to be some bastion of free speech, and as they mentioned they can choose to host or not host anything they want on their own site. the author of this mod (or any others) can just share the mod .zip publicly on google drive or OneDrive or whatever file sharing service.

There was some report about blue haired (of course) lady (?) that candidate for Sejm, "she" wanted others to use her (whatever they were) pronouns. Problem is, polish language doesn't support anything other than male, female and things (it's also complicated as fuck) so how she expects that? Tv reported at the end added that it would be a good for "her" not to expect special treatment and respect how society works.

I'm not one for the chosen pronoun life, but Nexus is a private website with a content policy and are not obligated to host files they don't want hosted. There are alternatives, and I'm sure search engines will help people find such alternate hosting solutions should they wish to seek them out.
