Why are you posting charts with no context? We have no idea what these numbers are made from. PS5, XS and Switch only can't possibly have Nintendo at less than Sony for 2021, PS4 has to be included, and maybe some other liberties.

PS4 was impossible to find new in 2021 in most markets. According to Sony it sold like a million, it's almost irrelevant.

Xbox First Party in 2022 when you include Activision Blizzard.
lol no you cannot
Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels
Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle
Age of Empires IV Anniv Edition
Fallout 76 (5 seasons of content and updates)
Sea of Thieves (3 seasons of content and updates)
Halo Infinite (Season 2 and Winter Update including Match XP Beta, 4 player campaign co-op, forge etc)
DLCs, expansions, updates and special editions don't count as new games.
Deathloop
A late port of a former PS5 console exclusive.
So that leaves you with:
Grounded
Pentiment
As Dusk Falls
Ghostwire: Tokyo (which didn't even release on Xbox Series)
It's OK to admit they had a weak year, lad. No need to shill for them mindlessly.

Ya he's probably the best in the business for messaging.

Of course everyone wants some $100 million budget story driven single player game but the user base and audience makes it the ROI math impossible.

Only 5?

Has everyone not heard about Game Pass and how it’s the best thing for developers and gamers, like ever? Dude should have his own world wide holiday.

So not even including everything that came to Game Pass this year, which is a shit ton, you pretty much see what Phil and his team are putting together. If people are somehow of the belief he doesn't deserve it with the massive turnaround for Xbox, or not even what was done with first party in 2021, or what he has done with Game Pass overall, then 2023 with Starfield and the other major first party releases along with eventually closing the Activision deal should cement exactly why he deserves every award he has received.
Activision was an Xbox first party studio for a whooping 0 seconds during the now over 2022 year.

Nuts.

Some dude wins an award somewhere in the world, and a bunch of entitled, unrelated little Internet based shits decide that the award is a sham, the recepient is not worthy or that they need to validate the credentials of the juries involved because the narrative doesn't match their own beliefs..

This is true everywhere on the Internet and unfortunately also true on these boards.

Good on Phil and similarly every other recepient of these awards in years past (and to follow). If folks who dole out awards think they've put in work to deserve it (or paid their way into being considered for it), good for them.

Celebrate the moment (or ignore it) and move on.

Lets play some games.

Didn't know Microsoft had closed Activision Blizzard's acquisition and played a key role in developing the aforementioned ABK titles.

Sony fanboys will shit on him because he has turned the xbox around.
He has managed to do what they said was impossible.
They see the dominance Sony had last gen going away.
He is everything Jim Ryan isn't. He is a good looking dude with charisma and he is actually a game lover and developer. In reality the Sony fanboys would love it if he was running playstation.
So, what they say means nothing.

The industry, his peers, they know exactly what he has done.
No other person could have done what Phil has done in the time.he did it.
As an Xbox player, thank fuck he is there.

Don't suck Phil's dick too hard, you might choke to death.

Everything I listed is what xbox first party studios have done in the year 2022, and what soon to be xbox first party studios have done in the year 2022. Where is the lie about what I said? And Game Pass absolutely killed in 2022. High on Life, A Plague Tale: Requiem and so much more. Xbox even without a brand new first party AAA in 2022 had an amazing year. That's a fact. 2023 will deliver more of the exclusive AAA titles people wanted while continuing to deliver an incredible set of first party and 3rd party Game Pass day ones.

'Content' you say? Xbox gamers are being fed more incredible games than we know what to do with in a specific timeframe. 2022 was a strong year for Xbox. 2023? I expect a lot of sealed lips this year.
Oh the dishonesty… Pretty clear that you have some financial tie to Microsoft at this point. Your fictional, novella-sized, posts have done little to obfuscate the history of the Series SX to date.

2022 a strong year? It’s ok to admit that Xbox shit the bed. Really hoping that 2023 marks a shift for the platform.

Why should xbox gamers care if they are getting games for pretty much free? This is a win for them. Throwing around MS money? Huh. You must not have heard. Game pass is profitable.
Gamepass is not profitable.

If you subtract licensing to third parties from total Gamepass revenue, you'll get a positive number. "Profitable". A convenient loophole for an effective lie.

The calculation that should be made takes lost revenue into account - e.g. the revenue Microsoft would've gotten selling third party games and taking away their 30%, and the 100% they miss out on for every lost sale of first party games compared to the amount that was spent developing them.
If Nadella's word and the years of constant marketing and PR mean anything, Gamepass is a business model by which Xbox adheres to. It's not just some side gig that can be evaluated by itself; but that's exactly what Phil did when he made that statement.

Only here would you see people insist that lifetime/achievement awards be tied to the number of AAA exclusives released in a calendar year

Eddie needs to chill with these threads, though. Makes no sense to pitch promotion as Microsoft as an award. Not even necessarily a ‘promotion’ since his position in relation to the MS leadership team remains the same - reporting directly to Satya and a member of the MS LT.
