This is the devs that made this game.

This is just promotional ads and benefiting from the drama.

They need to focus more on the gameplay, instead of ssd shit.
I was about to post this.

They really have no business throwing down their gauntlet into this ring. They make shitty, unoptimised games that likely wouldn't run well even on a better hardware.

Like any demanding game late in the ps3 life cycle, who cares, the console isn't qualified compared to pc gpus either.

have you seen the game it looks like my first game indie project, they just stirring controversy to try get extra sales.

the game should actually be banned on here other than literal impressions when (if) it releases.

The game looks like shit no matter what platform you choose not to play on.
Their faces looks like from 2 generations behind current standards, it's like a noob toying with ue5 assets and lacks any talented skills.

To be fair they didn't say they had an issue with single player, just the split screen multiplayer. Also considering that Baldurs Gate 3 is running pretty poorly on PS5 at the moment its no wonder they couldn't get Series S to do split screen in hindsight, there just doesn't seem like there's a lot of headroom in that game on current gen consoles.

In terms of this game however it just sounds like another undermanned or undertalented indy developer with an unoptimised game.

Dont believe it’s the series s that’s the problem but more so all these third party engines. They are not optimized for the S.

This is why I feel in the future more and more ips will switch to unreal etc which have been designed to support weaker hardware etc. most developers don’t have the manpower to constantly modify their engines to meet these little outliners.

Also many other developers with games like hat are on par or look better run fine on the series s.

It’s differently a lower their system but it should be a capable 1440p system

Microsoft's biggest mistake was assuming devs would be interested in optimizing their games, like they have in the past . Clearly, for a large number of devs, that's no longer the case.
90% of them brute force their game with high end specs and just move on. Why optimize and spend time and resources for a smaller install base in their minds.

How did Microsoft engineers not realise this could be an issue going forward, especially as the ps5 has such a commanding lead, devs will never use a Xbox as the base platform.

You make a huge assumption in thinking that the engineers didn't realize this.

A lot of times in an enterprise situation, you're asked to do things that you know is a bad idea and won't end well, but your opinions on the matter aren't taken into consideration.

Wholly possible that the engineers and devs warned upper management about this, but they were determined to undercut PlayStation on price. There was so much concern about price going into this generation that no one wanted to announce their system or their price.

Phil Spencer was convinced that core gamers would initially go for the XSX but that given time, the XSS would be the driver of sales. What he misunderstood is that gamers largely want the best experience possible and that 400-500 dollars is really already pretty entry-level.

They must have done surveying to see what one of the major concerns with the XSS was and the response must have been at least somewhat directed towards storage, hence the release of the Carbon Black, but I bet anything the limited hardware was a bigger concern, but there's nothing you can do about that. Releasing the Carbon Black actually muddies the waters since it is SO close to the PS5 DE in price.

The creation of the XSS was a boneheaded decision, but you can look across the design of the X Series and you can see the boneheaded design language all over the place. Split memory, proprietary disk drive... These are the things that on their edges make competition really difficult.

Sony on the otherhand looked to decrease bottlenecks, had a standard NVME solution, and focused on ways to differentiate themselves in a positive light: 3D audio, haptic controls, VR, digital edition PS5.

$ for $ Sony is making significantly better purchases.

They bought Insomniac for 229 million, and Microsoft bought Bethesda for 7.5 billion, which is going to have the better-selling game this year? Who has generated more revenue since their purchases?

Sony doesn't have the money that Microsoft has, but because they don't have the money, they know they have to make better moves and smarter moves. They already made a huge mistake with the PS3 that has done irreparable harm to the playstation brand, but you look at their management and philosophy and they're just in a completely different mindset from Microsoft. Ultimately, it comes down to upper management and Phil Spencer doesn't know what he is doing.

Well that's one way to get your game attention. Interesting interview, but not surprising as they clearly state that they are building this game with PS5 spec as minimum. Series S is clearly below that. It's literally built to not run well on lower spec machines.

I can't take their story as credible or worth much either, no. I mean, I guess it's worth having reports out there from developers who have something to say about Series S since not many have come out in public one way or another about experiences with these hardware variations. But their published history and their shaky announcement history and the quality of their actual product as seen so far gives very little reason to listen to this team.

Well Larian said they dont have to for BG3, not sure why any other dev would be beholden to that mandate. Series S is basically dead now and MS deserve to be sued into the ground for their fake empty promises regarding the Series S.

Think we'd be hard pressed to see any actual promises Microsoft made regarding the Series S.

Phil Spencer is already building the bridge to ending support or curbing support for the Series S and we're at the point where anyone buying a Series S is setting themselves up for disaster in terms of long term support.

The devs really are trying to get attention for their game again like last time.
I dont know why this game is getting so much attention. Its from the same dev 'team' (its really only one dev mostly) that made 'Kings of Lorn: The Fal of Ebris' on PC, and it wasnt a terrible game but it was a clunky asset flip. The dev just buys assets from the asset store for his games, the difference being that he buys high quality assets compared to the usual scammers on Steam.

If it's not certified to run and you buy it anyway then it's on you that you're only getting 5 fps.
The original comment was about games being scalable from 4090 to Deck. Yes it can run on the Deck but it doesn't mean it will be in a satisfactory way.

LOL this is the Microsoft that makes high quality products like Windows and Office, that once made high quality products like Zune and Windows Phone, and you still need to ask this question?

It's Microsoft. They have never made a good product ever, but some of their products have monopolies and so they can be successful forever without making anything good.

XSS is shit no doubt about it. But those same devs dont release a polished version of their games, which makes XSS the escape goat.

Isnt it weird that we are getting alot of bugs and unpolished games these days?

Pretty sure multiple developers expressed displeasure about pro consoles. Anything that gives them extra work is gonna make them unhappy. Didn't we just have SE basically saying they were unhappy that there are both xbox and Playstation.

xss isn't the real reason theirs issues or bottleneck with these 3rd party games that's for sure.

These guys probably don't need to release the game, they just make their money from twitter, all they have to do is post a negative comment about the S and awesome ssd in the PS5 and the playstation warriors will repost and reply with their triumphant cries in their thousands.
These devs are playing the fanboys like a fiddle.
If the game ever comes out it will be garbage anyway.

Of course they did! They just wanted a cheaper console to undermine the competition and try to get more sales.
