Not at all. Just constipation. :)

I bought this Vegan cheese the other day and it was disgusting. I love cheese but this was awful. Actually smelled like feet. I grated some up to put on some chips (fries) and it wasn't that bad but still I really didn't like it. Fired the rest of the block straight in the bin. I need to buy some proper cow cheese.
Yeah, no I only eat the real shit. I'll fuck with vegetarian dishes but I'll never give up cheese.

I wouldn't say i'm vegeterian or vegan but i do eat a lot of vegeterian stuff. if i can get a meat free alternative that tastes good then yeah i'll go with that. i still eat chicken, pork, beef and i still drink cow milk and eat cow cheese. i love eggs too. i don't know what came over me but i saw this vegan cheese and thought to give it a shot. lesson learned because that shit is .... urgh i feel sick just thinking about it 🤮

In all my time selling on eBay and for the first time I just got someone contacting me saying the item I sent never arrived.

The item cost £4.50 (about $5.40 I guess?) and was posted almost 2 weeks ago. It should've arrived long before now...Thursday/Friday of last week. I sent it using untracked delivery which I know is always a risk and I usually avoid it.

eBay took their fee and I got about £3.70 in my bank. The postage itself cost £3.30 so I made 40p out of the sale lol but all I was looking for was to get rid of the item and cover the cost of shipping. Other sellers were selling the same item for anywhere between £12-26. I paid about £15 on Amazon for it and when I sold it on eBay it was literally brand new in the box which I never opened.

As soon as they contacted me I said I can only guess that it's been lost and that I would refund them right away which I have done. I also said if it does turn up they can keep it for free. But they messaged me back having a go for not having tracking and how disappointed they are lol. What you want me to do? I gave you your £4.50 back right away. I can't send out a replacement because I only had 3 of the items which I all sold.

Did I really fuck up using non tracked shipping or are they being unreasonable?

I have a perfect 100% score and now I expect I'll get negative feedback lol

Does tracked delivery cost extra? If it does, then eff 'em. You made it right ASAP.

If not, still eff 'em, but I'd use tracking every time moving forward.

Edit: they're just butthurt because you offered an awesome deal on it, and they didn't get it. They learned a valuable lesson: TINSTAFL

Yeah it does. Tracked option would've cost £4.45. If I had went with that I'd be losing money. Instead of 40p up I'd be about 75p down. I know it's not a lot of money and even having to refund them the full cost I don't really give a fuck. It's only a few pounds. I guess I should've just went with tracked but why should I lose money even if its pennies?

Just rubbed me the wrong way how they were like "no tracking at all? I'm disappointed I won't get it" and I know it really means nothing but I'd hate to get negative feedback lol. I've spent years doing my best on eBay. On the positive side at least it happened with a piece of shit item and not the expensive stuff I've sold lol.

I edited my first post to say this, but I'll say it again: they're just butthurt. They didn't get the product for a third the price others were selling at.

I really don't think it's a big deal, but if you want to avoid this in the future, you could always pay the tracking fee and, in this case, still sell it for like half of what others were to cover your expenses.

eBay should have a buyer feedback option (if they don't already) where you can leave negative feedback on them for being a Karen lol

yeah i guess it's my fault for pricing it so low. i was just wanting to try clear out shit that had been sitting about for months so priced it as low as possible to sell it quick. i usually do use tracked so i guess i'll go back to that no matter how low something is priced.

If she hears or senses anything that could possibly be enjoyment for me, she's there to stamped it out. I thought I was done taking care of children. But as soon as my kids graduated from college, this chick reverted back to a baby.

I can't get a f****** break.

I'm glad mine travels a lot for work and is relatively low maintenance (she takes care of herself, but earns nearly six figures so it's not like she's a financial drain on me).

lol I know what's in milk. I've had people try scare me off it before but I don't give a shit really cause it taste good. At one point I tried Soy milk or whatever other ones there are but didn't like them.

While I do eat vegetarian food I still eat stuff that has nasty shit in it. I love some black pudding (pig blood) and Haggis (sheep stomach/lung/heart/liver) so I'm over being scared off :)

Why no government is having a comprehensive health programme to encourage physical activity and limit sedentary lifestyle knowing full well this will contribute to untold hundreds of millions of euros being saved in the long run for healthcare of obese citizens, citizens with diabetes, lung cancer from smoking , etc.? Not so important in the US, but in Europe with socialised healthcare we spread the cost evenly among citizens.

Likewise, why is the increase of retirement age not accompanied by increased money to switch careers and training, so people will not think they have to be in their miserable jobs till the moment they die? Of course they will protest it.

So, knowledgeable ones, please help an old man...

I used CCleaner (been using it for years now) this morning. Here lately, I'm having to use it almost daily due to all of the plugins and stock footage I'm downloading and/or deleting, etc. I typically have my delete cookies unchecked simply so I don't have to log into my regular sites each day -- I'll just stayed logged in. But considering how badly Firefox has been draining both my CPU and memory (mostly the memory in the task menu is the biggest issue I'm seeing), I figured it had been a while since I had cleared out the cookies and better go ahead and do so. I also set the privacy in Firefox to "strict" for not allowing tracking cookies.

Did all that and restarted my PC. Let the old girl have a enough time to work through all the start-up background processes, and then opened Firefox back up. It was now sucking up even more memory than before. What. The. Fuck?!

And...

I had to re-log into most sites except for, you guess it, my Gmail, Facebook -- basically all the big boys.

So, I'm guessing these fuckers don't take no for an answer. Any ideas of how to clear their trackers, and if possible, how to prevent them from putting that stuff back onto my PC?

I nuke my Windows install once every 2 years or so. Sometimes it's best to just start fresh.

What specs are your PC? I've heard of Chrome being a resource hog but not so much Firefox. I'm no expert but I don't imagine that cookies would eat up a lot of CPU/RAM even if you hadn't deleted them in a while. Cookies are small files and shouldn't take up much space/memory.

How many plugins/extensions do you have installed? I would guess if you have a lot of them then that is your problem. Usually they are more demanding on your CPU/RAM. Gmail and Facebook are products of the largest advertising/tracking companies on the planet so yeah they won't give you an easy time. They desperately want to track your every move online.

What version of Firefox are you running? You can go to the hamburger menu > help > about firefox and it will say the version number.

If you want Firefox to remove all cookies then go to hamburger menu > settings > privacy & security > cookes & site data > manage data > and then click on the offending sites to highlight them (hold CTRL to select multiple) and remove selected (or "remove all" if you want to nuke everything).

As for tracking settings, strict is... strict. It will break some sites. In my experience it's mostly embedded content from sites. For example, on here if i have strict enabled it will block posts where people post shit from Twitter/Instagram. Running on "Standard" is fine. This shouldn't affect performance of the browser but more functionality.

I used to use CCleaner and then Bleachbit but instead what I do now is use an extension called "CookieAutoDelete" which you can find here:

It is more advanced than using CCleaner/Bleachbit but what I do is run it alongside Firefox Multi-Containers:

What this does is let you group websites into containers. For example, I have containers for: Social Media, Forums, Shopping, Banking, and Google. So, for me, Reddit and Twitter are in the "Social Media" container. Reddit can see Twitter cookies and Twitter can see Reddit cookies. I have YouTube in Google container. YouTube won't be able to see the cookies of Reddit/Twitter as they are in different containers.

That said, you don't need to use Containers for CookieAutoDelete. CookieAutoDelete does what the name implies. When you vist a website you can whitelist cookies for that site so that it keeps them saved. I have cookies for Reddit, Twitter, Neogaf, YouTube, iCloud, Amazon, etc all whitelisted so I stay logged in at all times. For any site that isn't whitelisted the cookies will be deleted automatically after x amount of seconds. I think 15 is the default but I have mine set at 5. C.A.D will also delete shit like cache, localstorage, plugin data, etc.

I know I am rambling on and this is probably more advanced than you'd like (sorry lol). If you're having trouble with CCleaner then I'd recommend Bleachbit as a direct replacement and see if that helps any.

The thing is if you're using Gmail/Facebook then you're going to need to let them set cookies if you want to stay logged in. You could refuse to let them set cookies or auto delete them but then you'd need to manually log in all the time.

I'm done now I promise. I don't know if I've helped you lol but if you have any questions I'll try help you (and try keep it short!)

Because money spent on Healthcare is business. Compulsory business

Maybe not like it is in the US, but money is going into it
Yes, but once again - government is paying for all the hospital visits for obese people, oncology treatments for cancer patients, cardiovascular care for old people. This is hundreds of millions of dollars. Much better business is to spend money on prevention. I saw a little bit of it actually a few weeks back - government campaign saying that no amount of alcohol is good. It just lacks a cohesive plan.

Now you're scaring the old man. But...that might be a good (but daunting) tact to take.

What do you do, back up your all your stuff to disk first and then reinstall all your necessaries?

That's a lot of good stuff.

As far as the plugins go, they are strictly audio plugins for my digital audio workstation, and I don't see any of them eating resources in the task menu when the software is closed. Firefox is what's always at the very top. And it's usually like seven or eight instances of it under two or three different compacted sub folders (not sure how to refer to that). Though I know cookies as data take up almost no space, my guess is what that data is telling the PC to do is what's bogging it down. That's why I immediately thought it could be trackers, searching my online behaviors, etc.

Agreed. It makes much more sense in terms of wellbeing to do the "ounce of prevention" rather than the "pound of cure" route

I keep my important stuff either on an external drive or in cloud storage. I just redownload any apps and sign back in.

I've been sick the past bunch of days. I'm almost back to normal, but my taste buds are still crappy. Things dont taste fun or flavourful like before.

Solution: Drink a holy grail glass of Sunny Delight. Stuff is so thick and sweet it, it's literally the only thing all week that tastes like normal.

lol

had the same a few weeks back, doc told me it's just a cold... I kinda doubt it was.
not being able to taste anything or smell anything was a weird ass feeling. you're used to it when your nose is stuffed as fuck, but even then usually you can taste at least a little bit. zero taste without any symptoms of a cold or anything was super weird lol

I really liked that version of the character and the actor and barely see him mentioned
Hmm...well, I also thought he was a great representation of The Riddler, very Dark Knight. And I also like that particular actor. He, unfortunately, always plays in fairly tragic roles, but I thought he was great in The Batman.

There was a lot of great stuff about that movie. But I won't start rambling about that because I'll just rambling on and on about how tragic it turned out as a whole (for me). I will say this, though, I do hope there's a remaster where they gut a lot of the insane amounts of useless fat. There's a great movie in there.

yeah the movie definitely felt bloated, but I liked it a lot

You know how back in the 1200’s they didn’t have our technology? They didn’t have access to all the information online, didn’t know as much about the world, didn’t have social media, etc… and so probably led simpler lives. You could probably say they didn’t use as much of their brain power on a daily basis as we do today with driving cars, reading daily instant global news, programming, etc…

Makes me wonder if hundreds of years from now people will look back on us the same and if they will use a lot more of their brain power on a daily basis… or if perhaps newer technology will get people to use less on a daily basis.

Bold of you to assume humans will exist hundreds of years from now.

Humanity could look very fucking different in the next 10 years due to war/AI. 20-60 years we'll be getting royally fucked in the ass by climate change.

If humanity survives into the next 100-150 years we'll either be living in a utopia or a nightmare. I'm going with nightmare because even if we do a complete 180 in regards to climate change TODAY then we'll still be feeling the effects for a long time.

Best case scenario is we avoid WW3, move out to the moon and mars, and steer AI towards being peaceful towards humans and pray to the machine gods that they can help us deal with climate change. Most likely situation is we end up in a Threads world but with the added butt fuck of the singularity and a totally fucked earth. Humans could be exictinct or damn close to it within the next 100 years.

So far so good.

I've been eating junk since I was a kid. Bad habits from my dad as every weekend or two after taking my mom grocery shopping Saturday morning, they'd stop off at KFC or McD's and grab all of us lunch. My mom bought all the normal groceries, while dad focused on boxes of donuts and cases of pop. And at some point during the week (or maybe same time?) he'd grab a case of Labatt 50s. lol

Nothing made him happier than going to the nearby bakery and getting a free 13th donut or kaiser bun as a baker's dozen. It's like he hit the fucking lottery. lol

Bless their hearts. They are still alive and in decent health. Although dad is definitely a lot more crusty and slower than mom.

Annual check up and blood tests are fine. And I've never had a real cavity. I've got 3 tiny preventative ones where the dentists sees the xray and says lets do a small job on that spot before it becomes a real filling. And I got all of these the past maybe 15 years. I never had a cavity as a kid. I swear they can do a blood transfusion subbing in beer, juice and pop and I'd live. lol.
