Ps5 apparently had issue rendering his muscles

Man, this hittin'-the-roids Chris Redfield is a nightmare that hearkens back to E3 2007. The image of super-beefy Chris is a nightmare that keeps coming back to haunt us ever since.
It doesn't go away.
Any console or graphics card could have issues rendering his steroids-laden muscles and his fake tits, for that matter.

This version is the best imo, visually speaking ofc. Emo Leon is debatable but Chris looks like a normal human being.

Cool to see a few more shots, I am super fucking excited by the idea that the titular Village has the complex interconnectedness of the mansion in 1 but over loads of smaller and medium sized buildings and areas. Makes me think of the village in Skyward Sword, which I think is one of the best things about the game.

I think this could be a real good one boys.

How does this still look so good? Say what you will about the game — the exteme visual and artistic talent in RE4 at least mostly carried over.

As it's first person again I feel like it's a huge mistake if they don't allow the game to be played in VR again.
Feels like a bit of a step backwards.

I'm sure it'll be good, but based on the trailers this just doesn't feel like a Resident Evil game.

They literally could have released the trailers with a completely different name ... and I wouldn't have thought "Hey wait a minute, that's Resident Evil"

Interesting they are trying to do a port to old-gen support and not scale down “magic”.

To people understand better FH2 was made to XB1 and another team made a port to 360.

It is a better way to not try to hold back games like the scale “magic” does.

The trailer is RE from beginning to end.

Chris is the villain or at least will end up being. Calling it. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

That would lead to an easy couple of game redemption arc for Chris. RE11 Chris is back!

I hope this is wrong.

I really thought we’d play as Chris. Who the living fuck even gives a shit about Ethan????
Im happy to see my guy Ethan is back for another terrifying adventure 👍
RE7 was awesome and he being main character again just shows how they are taking 7 as a base and turning everything up to 11, its more like HE is the first person character, Jill and Carlos being on REmake 3 didn't make that game very good imo.

also fuck Chris

there will be more playable characters besides Ethan anyways

RE7 was an amazing experience... they got the RE original vibe in that title and seems like RE8 is going in the same fashion.

BTW RE7 is the best selling RE game without count remasters or rereleases... it grow up the fan base again.

After we had likes of Resident Evil 6, Rev1 or even 5 i don't understand why this a bad thing 🤔 heck so far it looks like MY dream RE game 🤤

Bring on the first person horror! Werewolves, Witches, Satanic rituals, haunted castles, vampires nd whatever scary thing Capcom prepared for us 🥰

Another one for the hype train! Yeaaaaaaaaaah boooooi!!!

7 was the breath of fresh air the franchise needed and it clearly paid off dividends for Capcom.:messenger_ok:

Ethan allows the player to have raw emotion. If we played as Chris or Leon we’d have their personality at our fingertips. Ethan is like living through the nightmare with fresh eyes. It’s like how we all experienced the first two Resident Evil games. Not knowing or understanding what exactly went on. Ethan is like playing as the home town boy who gets caught up in a nightmare. Day 1 for me! It looks awesome.

It is basically original Resident Evil in first-person :pie_thinking:

I’m starting to believe people forget what RE is about after RE3-4.

REVII is more RE game than RE4, RE5 and RE6.
That shift to first person makes it different enough for me regardless of the thematic setting.

Blah blah blah is it going to be as boring as 7 was? Will it have raid mode? Will it be a cheesy slasher film?

Imo you can give a chance to it... it really remembers original RE.

I believe another change in view point will only happen in RE10... it is 3 main RE in first person.

They made the series back with RE7 and now RE8 has the chance to become one of the best RE ever created.

Production quality of this video was great but they literally spent the first half of the video coming up with different ways to say "scary but beautiful". Didn't really learn a whole lot about the game at all. If anything it shows itself even more as a cross-gen game. Still looks good but nothing screams "there's absolutely no way this would run on PS4/Xbox One".

I played it and the separate demo and all the dlc. That DLC was a rip off too. They didn't even finish the game and had to complete it in a free DLC pack. Who the eff thought that was acceptable? And the rest of it is more like the worst parts of the series.

I get that the house into the ship into the lab is reminiscent of the journey from the mansion into the cabin into the lab from the first game. I get that it tries to lean harder into the horror and suspense like the first game. But it really does feel like a sequel to 6 and not a full return to the series roots.

What about the retarded over the top boss battles with the family? That isn't RE1 at all, they are closer to RE6's battles.

I really enjoyed the demo they put out and played it many times. For anyone who doesn't know, the RE7 beginning hour demo is a free stand alone experience and an amazing horror vignette, similar to P.T. that is not contained in the actual game. Please check it out.

I really don't like the torture porn sub genre of horror and much of RE7 focused on that. If RE8 is like that at all, it will be the first mainline RE game I won't pick up at launch. The trailers look 50/50 right now.

Also the graphics in RE7 weren't great in my opinion. Some elements of the engine were awesome like the textures and lighting, but the hair and facial animations were horrible. The previous games had stronger art direction overall. Luckily for us they corrected these issues in the REmakes.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Edit: ^ nah, the 7 demo has some big scenes from the full game, just arranged differently, so I'd say people shouldn't play that demo before the game because they do lose their impact. I regret having played it before the game based on all that dishonest "it's different and not part of the game" bullcrap.

Those 20 seconds of new footage looked pretty cool. But I thought the actual shooting gameplay in RE7 wasn't great, decent as the game was, so hopefully they've done a lot to make the action far more interesting this time, especially since they wanna link it to RE4 which was awesome in that aspect.

Well, the thing to learn about this game is that it is an expansion of RE7.
RE7 was a good game, the critics praised the game overall, and it sold quite phenomenally. Thus this VILLage is an expansion, in the same vein that RE5 was a continuation/expansion of the gameplay style that RE4 had previously set quite remarkably. There isn't much to learn.

Well you totally missed the point of my comment. They didn't add anything new that we didn't already know, including what you mentioned. Well aside from coming up with 4 or 5 ways to say it's terrifying but beautiful. :poop:

One of the best moments of the whole game happens with the mannequins.

I disagree about the demo causing any loss of impact, but regardless, it is still worth checking out. If nothing else you can go for the bonus coin. Or to spot the ghost.
