Idk, I'm kinda interested but not particularly excited. They made a couple of decent games back in the day but that was over a decade ago. Outriders turned out to be one of the most redundant, generic, and tedious GaaS looter shooters I've ever played which makes me doubt that any further output from the studio would be any better.
Still, there's a possibility that Outriders' failure can be blamed on Square Enix, considering that they had a recent streak of embarrassing flops that involved other high-profile studios such as Platinum Games, all in the name of trying to jump on the GaaS bandwagon. Maybe Outriders wouldn't be such a boring slog if the studio didn't have to follow similar mandates from Square. The game definitely had a potential and there are a number of things about it that I thought were solid, such as general feel of the combat and controls, highly polished visuals, interesting premise, etc. What lets it down the most is that it's just so dull and repetitive and the difficulty was obviously scaled to force you into grinding your character. Which is the kind of shit that is a general result of trying to make the game into a crappy looter shooter with predatory MTX economy.
