Starfield will have RTX integration according to devs profile

DLSS counts as RTX integration.

But as the dev seems to be a Graphics programmer working on lighting im going to guess its RTAO at best, maybe Reflections if we are lucky.
RTX- Direct Lighting and Indirect Lighting might be asking too much.

I would be happy with RTAO and RT emissives. All the light sources in the scene properly giving off light goes a long way. Wish Halo had those two.

RTX on that shitty engine? ROFLMAO, cant wait for 5 fps and a gajillion bugs. Yeah this shit getting delayed 100%.
Doesnt Skyrim run on a potato even when loaded with mods and SSRTGI?

Why would RTX integration in this game cause it to run at a hyperbolic 5fps?
An RTX 3070 with DLSS will run even Cyberpunk with RT at a playable rate, mess with some settings and 4K60 is doable.

If the thing runs without bricking my Series S, I'll consider it a win.
Starfield is targeting native 4k 30 fps on the xsx. Those games typically end up running 1080p on the xss with some cutbacks.

The games that bring the series s down to its knees are the ones that target 1440p like the Matrix which then have to drop below 720p on the xss. I am guessing MS didnt want their first party game running that poorly on the xss so they are aiming for native 4k on the xsx just like they did for Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon.

lmao RTX & Bethesda in the same game?

A GTX 1080/RTX2060 can almost run this engine at 4K60 in DX11 mode.
Id think any modern GPU from the RTX2060S and above should handle the DX12 version of this engine relatively easily no?
If it has DLSS/FSR then potatoes should handle 4K60 no worries right?
Was Skyrim or this engine known to have performance issues on PC.

Don't you expect for starfield to be way heavier than a game like skyrim??

I mean, it looks way better than skyrim.

I imagine it will be heavier.
But I dont expect it to be Cyberpunk levels of crippling.
People are acting like Bethesdas engine fails to run on low end hardware.

With some settings optimizations I wouldnt be shocked if a 2060S could pull off 4K60.
Assuming the RTX integration includes DLSS then PC bros be eating good.

You are the expert but that sound very optimistic...

Why are you comparing it to Skyrim and not F4?

Fallout 4, much more recent then Skyrim, was crazy demanding hardware wise.

PS4/Xone struggled to run it at 1080p/30.

Series X can run it now at 4K/60 (using an exploit from a bug, of course) but even running at Xbox One graphical settings (low LOD, shadows, textures and etc) it still has drops to low 40s

Running it at full high settings from the PC version at 4K would make even the Series X struggle to reach 30 FPS

Add this to the pile with Elden Ring, Halo Infinite, and Minecraft with shitty game engines promising post launch RTX that will never get it

Skyrim Special Edition is Bethesdas latest game with imma guess the latest version of their engine no?

But even if we look at Fallout 4.
Ultra 4K:

The shadow distance setting in Fallout 4 really at up FPS though.
But it doesnt look like something we need to be fearing.

So I would assume an RTX2060S would easily handle 4K.
Fallout 76 can also easily be eaten by an RTX 2060S.

I think it's the same as the older one with some features added.

Keep in mind this studio hasn't done anything worthwhile in over 10 years now.
Graphics are last on my long list. Lots of glitches, low performance, and loads of repetitive, barren spaces will be most the bulk of this experience for the first year after launch.

Right, seems liek they are biting off more than they can chew here. How about they make sure we can actually finish the game with out it breaking first?
